Random Photo TR: Elissa at Jury Duty
SharkTums replied to SharkTums's topic in Random, Random, Random
Yes, Los Angeles County uses One Day / One Trial. But they stress that most often it is "One Trial". Because they really can't get enough done in one day! As for the pix, yeah, I wouldn't have posted any of me had I actually went into a courtroom, but I figured since I sat in the basement all day it was okay! Derek, you know in LA that was going slow! -

Random Photo TR: Elissa at Jury Duty
SharkTums replied to SharkTums's topic in Random, Random, Random
Ugh, the people at Jury Duty were NOT amusing! One of them touched me! And they kept asking me stupid questions like: "Anything going on online?" or "How fast do you type?" Kill me! So glad it's over! -
Ok, so I have been postponing Jury Duty for the past two months now due to trips, friends and family coming out, etc. But today, I bit the bullet and went! I'll let the pix tell the story! And with the SCV comes the awesome temperatures!!! Thanks for reading! Ahh, back to the safety that is the Santa Clarita Valley! Ahh, all done! I didn't have to do anything but sit online all day! They only called for one trial the entire day. It was super annoying, yet awesome at the same time! Here I am risking getting in trouble because the Chat People told me to take a picture! Best Jury Room Ever! Internet ALL DAY!!! San Fernando Courthouse...through the trees! That is of course, if I can get to the courthouse! Stupid LA Traffic! 7am, 80 Degrees...wow, this is going to be an awesome day. At least I'll be inside all day! I started my day like always on the site...Ooo what a lovely topic! Rich is so banned!

I think one of the Belgium people told us that there was an accident on the rapids and that drop hasn't operated in like 5 years! I was also really surprised by how awesome Bobbejaanland was!!! -

Awesome Report Chuck! I guess that goes to show you that your ride can have a pretty decent accident and still be just as popular as ever! -
Any suggestions or hints for my European trip.

Well, it is Canada... Are there lumberjacks and maple syrup involved in the jury selection process as well?

Just parks. I have been dragged around the world seeing touristy stuff enough with my family! -
I'm glad Robb can't see this TR right now... Cows, Vibrators, and Food. He would pretty much die!
-
Yeah, I gotta say, so far this is way better than I thought it was going to be! I was all prepared with a giant book, and my DS Lite...but I've been online most of the day. Read some of my book before orientation but that was it! Now, as long as I can not get called, it wil actually be an okay day!

Short Phantasialand TR

Wow, I am so ready to close this thread. Let's try this again: -
In my continuing Jury Duty Update... Just got back from lunch. We don't have to be back until 1:30, but it was either sit here in the air conditioning online, or sit at McDonalds with all of the homeless and disabled! Only one 'panel' has been called so far. I'm assuming I'll get called after lunch, then I'll have to try to answer the questions so I don't get chosen for the jury! There are a few trials they're selecting for all ranging from 3 - 6 days in length! Grrr!! I just want to go home and work on the UK Video!!!

Steel Dragon 2000 is open!
SharkTums replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice to hear a good report, but having seen it in person and talked with others who've been on it; I'm kind of also leaning towards the 'it's a big Steel Force' camp! I've never been a big fan of the Arrow or Morgan hypers, in fact my favorite is Steel Eel which doens't even really count! We'll see if it really opens, and if it stays open. No matter what that park will be on the TPR Trip next year, but I'd rather it not be open so we can make that a half day! -
New shuttle coaster for Conny Land for 2007
SharkTums replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've ridden a PAX Coaster and a couple of their rides. NOT Impressed. I've basically heard from people that have been on that Wild Train coaster, that yes it's really good for its size, but most people just hype it up. Like Tommy, I have also heard PAX Reps bad mouth their own rides! I wouldn't go rushing out to ride this anytime soon. -
Do you have one full day, or one park day and you can drive the night before or something like that? Are you willing to go off the beaten track? Will you have your own car? How much are you willing to drive in a day?

Oakwood - Go do the crystal maze, and don't miss the Vertical Slide! Blackpool - Do everything! Nothing too special at Gullivers or Southport Lightwater Valley - Toad Hole Flamingoland - All pretty obvious Skegness - Again, not much, everything is obvious Alton - Do Everything, if you like waterparks they have the best master blaster I've ever been on! Drayton - Mmmm Apocalypse Thorpe - Everything, but beware, this is the Six Flags park of England Chessington - Chair Swings!!!! Farup - OBSTACLE COURSE!!! Heide - Everything (Even the things there are two of!) Hansa - Trampolines of awesomeness Bon Bon - Everythign! Bakken & Tivoli - I don't like these parks as much as others do. I think they're overrated. Bakkens scenic railway though is really fun! Liseberg - Mmmm, Balder..oh yeah, and everything else, this park is awesome Tusenfryd - Can get pretty crowded, make sure to get your Intamin Credit if it's running!
