  1. I would go to Europa Park several times before going to Port Aventura. I feel that Port Aventura is overrated. It's a nice park, but can be really terrible at times due to operations and clientel.
  2. ^^So what did you actually think of the ice cream!?!
  3. ^He's probably onsite lifting piece by piece off the coaster!
  4. My personal favorite in Europe is Europa Park. Honorable mentions to: Alton Towers Heide Liseberg Grona Lund Mirabilandia Hansa Basically Europe (if you include the UK and Scandinavia) has a ton of amazing awesome parks, and even some parks that might not be amazing but have amazing rides!
  5. So I see they went with 'Elvis in his Final Days' theming judging from the looks of most of them!
  6. ^In that case, just remember to bring lots of Advil!
  7. ^I agree. You also have to remember on these buyouts not every attraction, shop, restaurant, etc. is open which forces people on fewer rides and makes the park seem more busy. I've been to a few buyouts at the park and they can get VERY crowded.
  8. Eh, don't worry too much about the details! You'll get in, ride, have some fun, and do it all for a great cause! The thing to focus on right now is raising more money! Hit up coworkers, friends, family, girl scouts (what? they get our money for cookies!!!), etc.
  9. ^Saturday with the opening of a big new ride, I would expect big crowds.
  10. Exactly! We don't live in some dictatorship or socialist regime. You can pick and choose what you spend your money on. Fly first class to the park and stay in a motel 6, fly coach and stay onsite, you choose what to spend your disposable income on, going to parks is already a choice, now you can decide on your exact experience once there!
  11. ^Come on Wes, you know this is probably already sold out!!! If only for all the SoCal Disneyfan websites to start bitching about tiny details!
  12. ^It's not a scam at all, but it is money making. We live in a free market, people will pay more and less money for differing experiences. It also sounds like your friends are exaggerating quite a bit that it 'doubled' everyone's wait on every ride.
  13. Love that we're seeing more and more lap bar only inverting rides!!! Woo!
  14. Love the picture of 'WaterBoarding The Ride'!
  15. ^^We discussed this several pages ago. Very odd indeed! That's cool they're doing the previews that benefit the Children's Hospital. I remember that's how I went to DCA for the first time!
  16. ^Wow, you were a really old teenager?!?!?
  17. ^Join us on our next TPR Scandinavia Trip! Then you'll get to ride the best one out there!
  18. I don't even really believe that explanation about the sign only meaning when the car comes back to the station upside down or 'not balanced'. First off, if they're trying to avoid that, they still need to try and make it not flip during the course which means the same thing!!!! Secondly, we witnessed tons of crazy off balanced re-entries into the station at Grona Lund and all it took were the ops going over and righting the car. Someone of course had to be paying attention as the car could not advance until it was righted, but this was simply done with proper staffing levels.
  19. ^If there are no parks on the agenda, then post in Random please.
  20. Riding Sky Rocket last year in the pouring rain was so painful and I was laughing so hard at it!
  21. If you've never been on a coaster like that before then you'll get those butterflies in your stomach feeling for sure. If you want to minimize that feeling sit in the middle of the train.
