  1. ^ Because I'm sure that after all this the park will make no effort to explain the back story on their website, queue line, in the park, etc Seriously they could just put up a sign that says people come here sad, this makes them happy. It's not that hard to explain the backstory of a ride.
  2. I agree that SFSTLs entrances looks pretty bad, but it is good for guest flow. The turnstile lines do get clogged up and stopped with people going through the metal detectors directly after so I'm glad they're changing it, but I am kinda sad to that we're losing the nice original Marriott entrance. Hopefully the picture they showed is just a very simple rendering to give an idea of what it will be like.
  3. ^ B&M gave the park two new chassis so they could do this, they're fine with it. I'm imagine that once Great America is done with it the chassis will be shipped to other parks so they can turn it around.
  4. A No Coaster Con report has been posted to SFGAmWorld. I'll post a few highlights, check out the full report here. - Changes to Hometown Square will be reversible when igNite is eventually replaced - igNite is 25 minutes long and will start at 10:00 - igNite is a story based show that follows characters from the great Chicago fire and present day - The video mapping was done by the same company who did it for ElecTRONica and World Of Color - Front gate will be renovated and the current ticket booths will be demolished - Ben and Jerrys are being removed - Lots of new food and a new restaurant with the parks first full selection bar More pictures - http://sfgamworld.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13797 So despite not having any really major additions this should still be a good year with lots of improvement and lots of new things around the park. Edit: Videos are being posted as well of the parks presentation - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVaaeSzFk7U
  5. The biggest problem I have with Six Flags (GRAm in particular) currently is that they aren't staffed high enough or the staff members aren't being used well (for the guests.) For example, lines for flat rides at Great America take twice as long as they should since most of them have one or the rarest occasion two ride ops yet you can guarantee that every single game will be staffed and that there'll be ten workers trying to get you to enter a contest or a book a hotel room. Other problems include defunct rides or buildings being left to rot, I know a few parks have stunt show arenas sitting unused, hours being cut and of course the insane parking prices. I know the new focus is to put something new in every park every year, but I think a year just spent on improving the parks and getting more staff would help the parks greatly.
  6. ^^ Eagle blue is fine as it is, but it's still a hell of a lot better backwards. Batman forwards is great as the best 20 years have proven, but what's so bad about trying something new? Midwest trip participants might not want to get too excited yet. Sounds like it might not be backwards all season.
  7. According to the Great Ohio Coaster Club the whole train will be backwards, but there will only be seven rows instead of eight.
  8. It's blurry, but the whole layout was revealed today at No Coaster Con. Link
  9. ^^It's a bit of a stretch to claim that repainting a coaster makes it revised, faster, and better than ever, even for Six Flags. Besides, I thought Batman looked fine when I went last spring. Maybe the garden side could be spruced up, but once you get past that it's themed to walking through the crummy side of Gotham City and a sewer. It's supposed to look run down. And seeing as the station is a rusted power plant building, shouldn't the track look a bit rusted to match that? From what I saw the only things I would change is how stupidly long the queue line as and put the cop car back.
  10. ^ Why would they remove popular rides that (as far as I've heard) run perfectly fine? I'm kinda having a hard time deciding what I think about this because Six Flags parks are all over the place. You have parks like MM or La Ronde on the bad end of the spectrum but then you have parks like GRAm, SFOG, or DK on the good end. I do like that SF has experience with animals and they could help on the ride side (Iron Gwazi anyone?) but I'm also worried that you would see Kumba trains wrapped in Stride Gum ads and Superman flying over Shamu. What I still don't get is why Six Flags would even want to do this in the first place.
  11. My username isn't on the list either - jongrundl. I have room for 16 more neighbors, so please add me me if we aren't neighbors already. And thanks so much for making the list, it made expanding my friends list so much easier!
  12. Not sure how current this is, but looks like they still have a ways to go on getting the land ready.
  13. Great America had similar lines for season pass processing during opening day and closing day. Both times had lines probably 30 - 60 minutes with the normal season pass center open and temporary processing locations open. I don't really think the problem are the parks themselves, it's the season pass system. They need to make renewing an existing pass easier and faster as even if you have a season pass you have to re-enter all your information. They should really be saving it on the system so if you don't have anything to change you can just pay, take a new picture and be done.
  14. This looking much better than Kings Paradise. Two things I would work on: - Kids Town doesn't look great. Even just replacing the candy and butterflies with trees foliage would look better. It's also a bit small for a kids area. - Your paths. Real parks don't just go down one straight line with rides on the side. This works for the main midway or entrance area, but after that you should make loops or even just turn to one side to make your park look more interesting.
  15. I only just got the SLH quest today and with christmas ending on Jan 10 there's no way I'll be able to get enough coins, even if I had 100 neighbors. In past updates have they kept newly introduced characters available even after the update is over? I know you can't get things like Halloween characters anymore, but SLH is a year round character, so I'd be kinda disappointed if I couldn't get him after this (especially since I'm only so far behind since my game decided to reset itself )
  16. ^ That was SFSTl. The SFWW website lists a slide just called Bonzai, which is probably what he meant to say.
  17. Just a heads up, this morning when I went to visit my neighbors my town completely restarted itself. I still have all my neighbors, but my town is back to square one. So for the time being I don't think you'll be able to get any santa coins or really much of anything from me. Stupid EA. Edit: I decided to just restart my game, having lots of neighbors has helped me catch up quickly. I have four houses with lights now so you can collect santa coins from me again.
  18. And Silverwood probably isn't one of them considering they bought a GIB that gave Great America nothing but trouble.
  19. You're forgetting that Demon has a drop out of the lift before the turn and 90 foot drop, so it's much less than 13 feet off the ground.
  20. Since the ride its replacing is the Water Street Cab Company it would have been nice if they continued that theme and themed it to a crazy cab ride. But with the generic name if Boomerang, it'd just expect some simple landscaping and whatnot so it looks nice but not really themed. I'm more concerned with how they change the area around it since everything around it is so dark and drab until you get to sky screamer. Hopefully they'll spend some time repainting and brightening up the area.
  21. Superman looks great, but Kong could use some work. It just seems too tall. I'd work on lowering everything after the kidney bean so everything is in the same general area height wise.
  22. http://www.wdrb.com/story/20377782/new-lease-on-kentucky-kingdom-site-could-be-signed-in-coming-weeks
  23. Here's a video of the continuous loading. The new loading isn't something I want to see chain wide, but the zipper pockets installed on more coaster trains would definitely be great to see!
  24. I'm on as jongrundl. I only just started playing a few days ago so my town is still pretty small, but I do have a few houses with Christmas lights on them.
