So Hometown Square is going to look a lot different this summer. The finished product: And no the train station is not going away, this will just be in front of it. At NCC they said the handicap entrances will now be the only entrances and that you'll walk through the set to get to the stage, but the renderings looked different then so I'm not sure if that's still the plan. I would guess that the train will be closed though, or only running full circuit from County Fair. Hometown Square in general will probably be a mess opening day. And then there's the new front gate. Nice to see they put some effort into making it look similar to the old entrance. Metal detectors are now where the ticket booths were and ticket sales are in the light blue building by Superman. The old photo building has also been changed to a lost and found with windows both inside and outside of the gate. All pictures from

Some of them I've taken have big warnings about not talking about them and some of them don't. Either way I'm sure they know it will all end up online, but if they ask not to talk about it that should be respected.

^ And that area could really go to much better use than a car ride, considering that they could utilize the old Wilderness Theater area as well. It is kinda funny how when the park first opened car rides were popular enough to warrant having two in the park, but now they really aren't popular enough to even justify keeping one open as I can think of quite a few parks who have removed theirs recently. In other news, opening day is just a few weeks away and the park posted a video showing them getting stuff ready. They also posted that there will be a pass holder only showing of Screams and Dreams 3 at noon on opening day.

Batman at Great America has a pretty bad view. The parks backstage to the right of it and go karts underneath equals looking at a whole lot of concrete. At least the rest of the ride is landscaped.

I have over 300 eggs now if anyone wants to do a big trade, or a few smaller ones.

It is amazing to me that people have climbed over fences and into restricted areas at other parks and gotten themselves killed, yet Mount Olympus is able to keep everything completely open and had no major incidents because of it.

^ Not sure why it wasn't on Saturday, but I've seen posts saying that Bizarro is running two trains today. As for Goliath, I'd be interested to find out when the new train arrived and if the blame should fall on the park or Premier who already had to delay building the train by a year.

Should get my gymnast Lisa and balance beam tonight, only need 100 more snakes. When I first played the update I thought it would take forever to save up snakes, but it's going much faster than I expected. And if anyone wants to do an egg swap, I have 160 eggs that I can give.

Why?

Is anybody not seeing eggs in their town? It keeps telling me there's eggs in my town but I can't find any, even when I set everything to see through. And I'm leaving eggs in towns in an arrow formation.

Do the practice snakes ever actually do anything like in their pictures? I bought one for my carnival area thinking it'd do something cool but it ended up just being a really small and dull decoration. Could've been an opportunity for them to add an extra mini-game as well.

It's too bad that it doesn't tell you who left eggs in your town. It'd be nice to know so you could help out those who helped you. The task is five hours and gives you three snakes. You get to pick who you take from, and it tells you how many snakes they have.

Besides all the whacking day stuff the update also made all the cut scenes available to watch, added clocks by the tasks that you're currently doing, and you can make characters see through when moving stuff around.

Thought this was a pretty cool concept that never went forward. Link It's too bad that the new management cancelled this and that the 50th anniversary went by pretty much unnoticed.

^ That's not true. Shockwave's track was scrapped and the trains were sent to other parks.

The whole turnaround is being changed. Since the barrel roll is much lower than the old hill it reaches the ground again much faster, so what used to be a big sweeping turnaround will now be a quicker dive to the ground followed by a 135 degree banked turn. Yeah, now that I know that 90% of it is being re-tracked I'm really hoping this will be a new beginning for the coaster and that the new train won't rip it up as much as the PTC did.
