I'm looking forward to this. Glow in the Park was great but it seems like its served its time and not having it will allow certain rides to stay open later. I'm hoping it will encompass Hometown Square, and possibly other parts of the park as well with lights and such. Either way, it's something new and great for the park and much as people complain about it, Glow in the Park packed the midways, and I'm sure this will too. Edit: Hmm..It wouldn't be a new ride, but maybe something backwards?

On what rides even could flash pass workers assign seats? Is there any ride other than Whizzer where they're actually in the staion? Other than using exit passes I've only ever been assigned a seat once, and that was by a park worker. Like Jeremie said, I have never seen a ride go out with empty seats because of flash pass workers. Yes, they do pulse the line, which is a good thing, but it's not like they wait until the station is completely empty to let more people go through.

I don't know about SFGAdv, but at Great America you no longer watch the pre-show. Since ours doesn't have a queue in the pre-show room, they use the flash pass worker to pulse the line to make sure it never reaches the pre-show room. So now you just walk right through the pre-show playing on a small tv on the back wall. What they should do, is just play the pre-show in the main queue instead of the usual Six Flags tv. That way you'd still be able to see it and it would set up the story without hurting capacity. As for themed areas at Six Flags, I do enjoy them even if the theming isn't too consistent. I've only been to SFGAm and SFSTl and both have decent theming. Great America of course has the advantage of being built as a fully themed park by Marriott, but what SFSTl has is still good even if it's a bit random in places. What I would really love to see is the return of theming like in the Time Warner era of Six Flags. Southwest Territory at Great America is a great example of this. The rides don't have complex story lines, but I much prefer walking through the cave queue of Giant Drop or looking at all the details in Vipers station over having to read 100 cartoon story boards or watch 10 minute pre-shows to try to understand some big story line for a ride that really doesn't need one.

The only difference I found was in the seatbelt. I don't know if it's the same for all star flyers, but on the SFSTl one the seat belts were locked into the side of the seat, rather than the usual two belts that connect in the middle, and once they were locked you couldn't open it until the ride op opened them. They were also like car seat belts where they can get tighter by themselves, so if you suck in your gut for a moment they'll strap you down tight. You still get the feeling of being barely secured, but I don't think it would be that easy to get out, especially once you start swinging.

La Ronde Discussion Thread

^ There was a strong rumor about SFDK's Pandemonium going to SFM, so if it is a spinning coaster I don't think it would be that exact one. -
Weird Roller Coaster Dreams

Not a roller coaster, but last night I dreamed that I was riding the log flume at NU in MOA. However, the rest of the park was different in that it was more of a water park than theme park and somehow my log floated out of the trough and into the lazy river which then put me into the kiddie area of the water park. So I just got out of the log and walked back to the entrance of the ride, but I woke up before I got back on. -

Sadly, X Flight had a really bad day today, and the rest of the park didn't have a great one either. About an hour after opening, one of the trains got stuck on the lift hill. Not sure how long for, but they were able to get it moving and then test and reopen the ride. This didn't last long as again about forty minutes to an hour later another train got stuck only this time they couldn't get it moving again. Everyone had to be evacuated off the train and the ride stayed closed for the rest of the day. The train didn't move until about 5:45 when it got to the top of the lift, stopped, and then finished the course about 5 minutes later. So for the whole day, it probably got around two hours of run time. The rest of the park wasn't great either with the combination of a huge crowds, bad weather and closed rides. I didn't see King Chaos, Dark Knight or Loggers Run open all day. Rajun Cajun had a train stuck on the turn after the first drop so that was down for most, if not all of the evening. American Eagle opened with only the blue side running and a full queue. Red opened sometime between four and five. Demon and Raging Bull didn't have all their switchbacks open unnecessarily sending their lines out into the midway. This wasn't a huge problem for Bull as the lines turns, but Demons went straight out to the hot dog stand so you had to walk though it to get by. Not the worst thing ever, but it could have been so easily solved by opening the switchbacks. So overall, just not the greatest day. It was obvious that they weren't anticipating such a large crowd, and it was weirdly crowded for this time of year, but it just kinda seemed like they were still acting as if the crowd was much smaller. Edit: I didn't personally see this happening, but today the SF CEO was in the park filming the 2013 announcement video in front of X Flight. Link
