  1. A few things I forgot. To open the show, an Elvis impersonator came out and did some Elvis songs. I thought that was pretty neat. In between sets, members of the University of Memphis band played for about 10-15 minutes. There was a drink at Silky O'Sullivan's called the Diver, which I think is 3/4 Miller lite and 1/4 hurricane? I could be wrong. Anyway, it's served in a big yellow bucket. For some reason, the taste reminded me of Mardi Gras. Kinda weird, but I enjoyed it.
  2. LSU is gonna take down Duke. Despite the fact that Duke has a much better coach, you can't stop "Big Baby" Davis. I've got Gonzaga winning it all, so I'm pulling for them, and I think Washington will beat UConn. It's just a hunch, but I don't see UConn winning the title this year.
  3. A little backstory info. 311 has played three 3-11 day shows, which are on March 11, all in New Orleans, in 2000, 2002, and 2004. They're my favorite band, and I've seen them plenty of times. The time came once again to have a show this year, but due to Hurricane Katrina, they couldn't have the show down here, so they chose Memphis. Now, there was no way I was gonna let a little move make me miss the show. I've been to the past two, and these aren't standard shows. At the last one, they played from 7 to 12, 2 sets, 68 songs. Anyway, a buddy and I made the drive up to Memphis on Friday the 10th. It was a straight shot up I-55, only about 5 1/2 hours. We drove up, ended up going out to Beale Street, which is compared to Bourbon Street. There is no open container law, and people ram the streets. Now, it was nice. The best part is that it was clean, and didn't have the puke/sewer smell of Bourbon Street. However, it was only 2 blocks. It was nice for what it's worth, but 2 blocks really isn't much based on the hype. Maybe I'm spoiled, I don't know. The other cool part was a bar called Silky O'Sullivan's. It had a courtyard, and out in the courtyard there was a real live goat. I didn't have my phone, so I couldn't take a picture. This could have been the best part of the trip. It's not every day you see a goat in a bar. He button-hooked us, we didn't know he was gonna button-hook us. Ok, now onto the reason for this trip. We got up the next morning, and went to wait in line to get a floor wristband. On my way to the arena from the car, I spy something off in the distance. What's this, a coaster? Sure enough, it was a park called Libertyland. There was a corkscrew and the woody, and maybe a small drop tower. It wasn't open, though, so no credits for me. We got to the arena, and there was already a line of a couple hundred people for floor wristbands. Luckily, they decided to hand them out early, and we finally got ours at around 1. We went back to Beale street to eat, then went back to the arena for 6. The show started at 7, and they played 3 sets of about 20-24 songs each. Lots of rarities, and several dedications, including one to the City of New Orleans. It was a sold-out arena of about 9,000, with a very positive vibe. The band played from 7 to 12 again, just another impressive show. They vowed to be back in New Orleans in 2008. After the show, we were pretty dead, so just went back to the hotel, and left early the next morning to come back home. Overall it was a nice little road trip, and another great show. 3-11 Day 2006! Giggity giggity goo! What we woke up on 4 hours of sleep for. Where did this come from?
  4. Great report and pics. Going through it made me want to get a beer. That Survivor ride looks interesting.
  5. Great report so far. Can't wait to see the full set of pics. That Splash Mountain shot is the craziest picture in the history of crazy pictures. I can't believe you guys fit 12.
  6. " A, and he's going for his second word, a sa, a sat, doesn't make sense, a sat, a saturday!" "And he's going for another word, and it's a long one. Apro, is it approval? No, it's approaching, A Saturday in November was approaching." "wink wink, nudge nudge, saynomore, saynomore" "A wink is as good as a nod to a blind bat."
  7. Only if they are being operated by a guy named Ramethorn. What happens when someone steals your shoes?
  8. I went with MGM, since you need to ride TOT. I would try to get a park hopper, though.
  9. I'd go to Disney, but make sure you make it to Universal, and maybe Busch Gardens Tampa. I'm going to all three when i go there in a couple of months.
  10. I'll be going the first week of may, and plan on drinking around World Showcase one afternoon. I'll be sure to stop in Germany for a while.
  11. I'll be doing almost the same thing in May. My only difference is I'm throwing in a day at Busch Gardens in Tampa. I can't pass on a chance to ride Shiekra.
  12. Yeah, I dont' think it would be big enough to add something really big. It's nice for what it is, but Blue Bayou is the real draw. It's become quite a little water park.
  13. Great reports and pictures. It was almost like I went to Disneyland myself.
  14. Definitely Pete & Pete. that may be the best show that pretty much no one has heard of. Lancelot Link is another one I'm sure not too many people would recognize. That's an all-time classic in my book.
  15. Fannnnnntastic. This is great. You guys are definitely worthy of being "Assistants". The boards are in good hands.
  16. I've really only played the first Zelda. I liked it so much, I bough a gamecube because it came with it.
  17. My plans exactly. I think this will be a good season. I can't belive who was voted out.
  18. I haven't been on as many as most of you, but my favorite is Millenium Force, just ahead of Kumba.
  19. I'll be watching. The good thing for me is that I didn't start watching it until the all-star season, so I'm not burned out on it yet.
  20. I've never lost one either. I do usually wear sunglasses, so I guess that helps.
  21. Those pics were great. Only 3 months for me. I loved the picture overlooking the rest of WDW property. It's amazing, you can see the other 3 parks all from that vantage point.
  22. I'm not sure if anyone has said this yet, because I haven't read the first two pages, but there's always one law regarding farts. Farts are always funny. Think about it. When was the last time someone farted and you didn't laugh?
