  1. I've readded my 2003 video as well: http://www.lonestarthrills.com/features/videogallery.php
  2. Rides you'll see saved: SWAT Diabol Falls Greezed Lightning (Maybe) Viper Mayan Mindbender Serial Thriller Runaway Rickshaws Carousel Dungeon Drop Kiddie Rides Water Park slides Possibly Saved: Serpent XLR-8 Ultra Twister Wagon Wheel Antique Taxis Astroway Tidal Wave Scrapped: Texas Cyclone Batman The Escape Thunder River Train
  3. Don't expect to see alot of rides get sold off as most will be scrapped due to conditions they are in.
  4. Six Flags is self insured .. so that insurance money is gonna be hard to come by. BTW, the Astro's play in downtown, the parking situation is a big reason for this, it was to go to court on the 23rd but I'm guessing that is no more. I hope they relocate the PR and Chuck to another park.
  5. Kemah Boardwalk (Jan) Six Flags Over Texas (March, June, August, September) Six Flags Over Georgia (May, August) Lake Winnie (April) Dollywood (April, August, November) Paramount Carowinds (Apil, August) Silver Dollar City (March, April, May, June, August) Celebration City (March, May, June, August) Worlds of Fun (May) Holiday World (June) Indiana Beach (June) Cedar Point (June) Geauga Lake (June) Kennywood (June) Knott's Berry Farm (Solace, March, September) Disneyland Resort (March, September) Six Flags Marine World (March) Six Flags Magic Mountain (September) Six Flags Fiesta Texas (October) SeaWorld Texas (October) Wild Adventure (November) Hard to choose a best .. SDC or Dollywood are dead even
  6. Sure it doesn't help lines .. but all rides there at some point have to go into rehab since they are open daily. Space Mountain closure at Disneyland, granted they have more rides than DCA .. but again on the same scale, didn't affect anything too bad .. made some lines longer. Now with Haunted Mansion closed and other rides starting to go into rehab .. Disneyland feels the same punch. Although keeping Screamin' closed until the New Year is a bit odd.
  7. Let's see .. Giovanola and Fabbri both have offices in Arlington, about 41 miles from me and LARC has their office about 30 miles south of me, they do park layouts and such, nice people.
  8. Still water around I bet .. and doubt anything besides some track work would be needed if that at all .. remember built in a flood prone area, so these things are considered before building.
  9. Hmm again spell check and grammer check. Screamin's is posted to be closed through til 2006 on Disneyland.com
  10. SFOT doesn't close until January and it's been known to snow during the operations of Holiday in the Park. I've ridden the Mine Train and Titan in the snow .. not too enjoyable. Also SDC is open til January, but they start closing coaster after it gets below 35 degrees.
  11. Mexico .. those mexican bunnies are rabid
  12. Goliath's sin't as bad as some .. but it holds it a bit longer than most do. Titan's was alot stronger before the midcourse was turned up, as well as Shockwave, Mindbender (West Edmonton) and Superman: Ultimate Flight. Those only hold the G's for a second or even less.
  13. How sweet you came back to Branson to be with us this weekend
  14. TTD had me shaking a bit before I rode it .. but then again could of been the cold air .. or the fact it did have me a bit scared.
  15. Yay for humdinger .. another vote here.
  16. for some reason im not gonna say anything
  17. A Port Arthur, TX coaster was totally destroyed by a hurricane in 1958 or so.
  18. The Ferris Wheel has to have one side up since it's double sided .. so one side is down and one is up.
  19. Voters are AT subscribers and not all AT subscribers are picked to vote in the Golden Tickets. I wasn't the first 3 years I subscribed, but after meeting Gary and Randy when he was still with them, I eventually got in to vote as well. It's comprised of alot of people, alot of people dont subscribe to AT who are in the clubs actually.
  20. Good lord .. maybe one suggestion of using resized thumbnails .. cause your server is lagging a bit and 230KB is alot for a thumbnail.
  21. Yeah SFMW and SFNO ( i think ) are still not wholly owned, but no one really cares about those parks As for SFOT and SFOG .. the management may go to another chain, but I don't see the limited partnership selling anytime soon with how much they earn out of the parks.
  22. SFOT and SFOG cannot be sold b the company since they do not own the parks, they are merley managed under a contract which the limited partnership who owns the parks were looking at getting out of in the first place. So if worse comes to worse .. SFOT and SFOG will be given to the highest bidder when they decide to drop the management contract with Six Flags since this failed obviously and take the Six Flags name with them since these are the two original parks and the name is in fact belonging to the Limited Partnership. Should be interesting to see what happens, but I doubt they would trust another large company like Cedar Fair again .. remember before Premier Parks bought the chain, they bid $900 million for only Six Flags Over Texas then turned around and bought the chain for $1.1 billion .. just shows you the worth of SFOT alone in the market.
  23. Dollywood or SDC ...
