Dollywoods turn to get sued.
coaster1 replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not to mention this happened in 2000, now 5 years later they are finally suing the park for an "injury". Anything could of happened with-in those 5 years to cause brain damage, even an unnoticed stroke or clot. Blazing Fury doesn't move fast enough to cause whiplash, maybe on the drop if it wasn't expected, but I remember the warning signs in front of the ride and just like Fire In The Hole .. it's cleary marked that it's an indoor ride with unexpected turns and sudden drops. This is what ruins the country. -
A new Cedar Point!
coaster1 replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If Cedar Fair built in Texas it wouldn't be in El Paso, 650 miles from Dallas .. closed to 800 from Houston .. there's no way. I read the article and it said they were in the Cleveland area looking at parks, so Cedar Point and Geauga Lake. The coaster for sale is prolly at Geauga Lake, I could see the Boomerang being up for sale or maybe Cedar Point's Wildcat, but Cedar Point is so aimed on having the most coasters and Wildcat takes up very little space. Other than that, not sure Cedar Fair would even build in Texas with it being Six Flags and Busch country with Six Flags running most of the major parks around here. -

Scream for one .. that was deadly bumpy. Silver Bullet wasn't bad so maybe it's just the latest floorless coasters, I still blame Superman and Dominator on the parks lack of TLC. -
William's Grove for sale

Kennywood is just the better choice out of Cedar Fair and Hershey. At least they wouldn't ruin the place. -

I know Matthew Perry is a coaster lover .. maybe not fully. He came out to SFOT just to ride Titan in 2001 while here promoting and working on his new movie at the time. -

Well those are chains with different styles of food .. that's typical, Yum! brands do that everywhere .. and places like McDonalds have started opening Boston Markets and Chipolte's near each other. Theme parks are different .. eateries can handle only so many people per hour and having more options is a good thing to get around that 2 hour wait. Theme parks WANT the crowds, simply because they know the longer you wait, the more stuff you will buy in the long run .. why compete? -

Yeah I agree, Six Flags learned that here in the Dallas area when they bought Wet 'N Wild in Garland and Arlington and then bought Boardwalk Water Park. They closed the Garland Wet 'N Wild, shipped slides there and to Waterworld and other Six Flags water parks and also closed Boardwalk, even before they re-opened for the 1996 season, they knew those would create bad attendance at all 3 parks if they were open. Granted Garland and Arlington are roughly 45 miles apart .. but still a smart move. -

Personally I had a better time at this park when it was Six Flags Ohio, last two visits just seemed crappy .. not to mention light crowds. -

I classify them if they are both different in paths and design. American Eagle - both sides are the same Twisted Twins - Both sides vary -
If it's crowded .. maybe 1 or 2 coasters ... maybe Psyclone, Viper .. but who knows .. with 3 hours or so .. I'd do something better .. like Knott's, since you'll be alot closer.

It's not bad .. but then again I've never used it. The trains only travel in LA county .. I think there might be a stop or two in OC .. but most of the train I saw was next to 405 and down 105 through Compton ... I know you can do buses to DLR and Knotts. To SFMM .. prolly imposisible. Taxi or better yet, rent a car.

I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to close the park .. for one the locals complain too much, and it would save Cedar Fair alot of money with new addidtions. As long as they keep the Big Dipper running as is with no changes .. fine with me .. but tear down Raging Wolf Bobs and send Villian to either Dorney or WOF. Big Dipper is good for CP. -
Well what time does your plane land?

So yeah .. our first trip to SFOT since like May when we spent like 10mins there cause it was too damn hot but here's what we did yesterday. Anyways .. got to the park at 9:30, ate some breakfest in the car from Sonic and headed in. Stopped and talked to some Security Guards and employees I knew, then headed for Titan. Ok, it's bumpy and the trains are all ghettofied with the chunks missing out of the lapbars and all the graffiti on the paint. After Titan .. wandered around to Shockwave since Giant wasn't open yet. Shockwave is still the best ride in the park. After Shockwave, it was Superman: Phallic of Power time. ok, they have 3 people PER tower checking the restraints about 10 times before they even start the ride .. talk about slowed down operations. After Superman's dildo, we did Freeze .. ok ride still, then Batman .. wow it hurts again, very loose feeling and rattles alot. After Batman, took a spin on the Mine Train, still a nice ride. After that we hit Runaway Mountain, stacking the 3 trains they had running. After that .. Casa .. they overloaded the show and made for crappy time. After that we ate .. some grub, hit the Oil Derrick tower, and then Giant .. wow it was running excellent! After that we left .. well after seeing SpongeBob was in 2D only. It was getting pretty crowded and very humid since it never rained. I'm growing not interested in this park anymore .. the operations are just going so bad now. Lots of things I saw yesterday that I never thought I'd see there. Ops not caring about guests and more interested in talking amongst themselfs. Ops not in uniform hanging out on the dock distracting the others from working, slow loading times .. just horrible. Look Hurricane Harbor ... and their "new" Tornado slide .. another 5 years til their next expansion Bleh .. that's all I can come up with for this ride Welcome to Texas .. home of odd fashion and the tighest pants I've ever seen on a guy *pukes* Giant .. its made of alot of hard wood At least we still have ours! HAHA! Giant erect piece of steel .. hmm Gheeeeeey! (Shaun of the Dead) Yup 2D only .. bastards! The renovation was nice on this .. only if they could do this to their rides! Wasn't too crowded at this point as obivious by the parking lot Good ride, good trains .. bad operations At this is running .. at least At least Freeze is still decent Batman .. what's with crappy B&M's lately? New advertisments, they are EVERYWHERE now

That afterburner style ride is a KMG Frek Out .. smaller version of the Afterburner, Chance will prolly become the vendor of those here in the US like they did with the Afterburner .. if they want. -
If you want to add extra parks, don't foget Idlewild near Kennywood .. wacky mouse from Alton Towers and an old woodie. But deff. make sure to get a Primanti Bros. sammich while in Pittsburgh, there's nothing better, well maybe tied with Potato Patch fries
