  1. They may have an outside source, but my experience working for a park, the ET (Electric Technicians, or Electrians) were responsible for maintenance of the PLC. One of the ET's at SFOT rewrote the entire system for the Oil Derrick, Runaway Mountain, Mr Freeze, Log Flumes and Titan from scratch. Then again, Disney may out source like some compaines, but Allan-Bradley and the other PLC people came by once a year to check up on the system.
  2. The question is how did the train that hit leave and enter the next block with the other train on the first set of brakes, that shouldn't happen. INTAMIN wouldn't be to blame as they do not program the PLC, which is responsible for the blocking system. Therefore Allen-Bradley or whoever made the PLC, would be at fault for PLC failure if this is the case since they are the responsible parties .. well them and Disney, since Disney's ET's are responsible for PLC maintenance as well.
  3. I'm similar. Don't count fair coasters more than once .. I count Water coasters (Buzzsaw, JTA), don't count dual coasters unless different as well (Racer =1 ... Gwazi = 2). But I do count powered just cause it's still a coaster
  4. ^ hey .. what about Thunder Run !?
  5. Nice detour trip from Holiday World next year.
  6. COME ON .. WE ARE WAITING !
  7. I've never been, but the park is across the river from the Pepsi Center (where the Avalanche play) .. and that's pretty much in Downtown Denver, I don't see why there wouldn't be public transportation around. http://www.rtd-denver.com/ The Light Rail stops at Pepsi Center/SFEG .. so there ya go.
  8. Boomerang is Vekoma's name for the inversion really and Arrow's .. Cobra Roll is B&M's term for the inversion ... there's really no difference in them, and compaines/parks will use either one now.
  9. Yes depends, I don't count them unless they've been changed or altered (track, not trains). So Space Mountain at DLR is two for me now .. well once I get on the "new" version. But Jester/Joker's Revenge isn't since all they adjusted was the train.
  10. Hellavator at SFKK still rocks, even tho it's a 150ft tower. Other than that, PKI's Drop Zone and any Fabbri portable tower .. those rock.
  11. I enjoyed those .. now if I could only understand German.
  12. They were looking at CCI .. but that died .. I doubt they would go with GCII and I would at least hope GCII wouldn't want to build out in the desert .. but I don't know what their maintenance department is like, but from photos and word of mouth .. it isn't the best
  13. Hence why I didn't bother wasting money on the new movie .. the documentry was very very well done and great film.
  14. If I couldn convince the other half to Motel 6 and if they had a rewards program .. I'd use them more often.
  15. But remember .. Cliff's has Rattler and those bad ass bumper cars
  16. Great Gasp will prolly be removed and parts sent to SFGAdv or SFOT since they have the remaining ones in the chain, my bets are on SFOT, since we just received the Excalibur Mine Train cars from Frontier City who had them in storage since it's removal from Astroworld .. what to do with 4 mine train trains? Parts of course
  17. Didn't bother to see the movie, but it is supposed to take place in Dogtown, which is Venice/Santa Monica .. if you've seen Dogtown and the Z-Boys, the start of the film series persay, it gives a nice view of POP after it shut down and most burned down. The footage may of been of a different park or stock footage which hollywood is good at miss-representing places very well.
  18. Yes sugar-free for us diabetic losers = good ... plus yanno .. don't feel like dying in Valencia.
  19. The Maxtor external has a Firewire port on it for connection to the computer system, not for video camera connections. They will have either both IEEE 1394 (Firewire) and USB 2 or one of the two. You best bet if you want good video and picture for DVD's and games is to stay away from Shared Video like those have on board. They may have an open AGP slot, but I don't think they do. Your best bet is to go with the most RAM possible, most cache on the chip and a faster FSB (front side bus). This is the better system, even tho it's Intel and Intel sucks .. I would recommend going HP/Compaq with AMD ---------------------------------------------------- 80 Gb Hard Drive 512MB Shared* DDR SDRAM DVD Burner Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Intel Celeron Processor (2.66GHz, 256 Kb L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB) ---------------------------------------------------- Regardless, you will still have to buy a Firewire card and place it in an open PCI slot, if available. http://shop3.outpost.com/product/4489546?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG That above has 1GB Ram, 250GB SATA Hard Drive (much much faster), better processor than anything Intel and 2 IEEE 1394 ports and 7 USB 2 ports .. good steal and you can order from anywhere in the US
  20. That would be the Venice Pier (Pacific Ocean Park) and the Sea Serpent, which was later bought by Legend City in Arizona and then sat until the park closed never being rebuilt.
  21. See that's why I'm wondering what the crowds are like .. makes me wonder if I should add the park or not to a list for next summer.
  22. Does Drayton Manor get that full or packed? Cause for one .. looks like two would be a standard on the ride, plus they have the transfer track, but then again, Holiday World ran 1 train on Raven for 9 years ... but finally added another since crowds allowed it.
  23. So wait they only have 1 train for this ride? Wow .. that is gonna suck.
  24. Yay for Rock-O-Planes !
