  1. Cyclone = http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20715 Mindbender = http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20685 Try searching next time .. it helps
  2. They close at certain temps like Dollywood PowderKeg = below 40 Wildfire = below 38 ThuNderaTion = below 32 But yeah .. even the cave was open and our tour group was like 9 people big ...
  3. Yeah yeah ... warm weather is what I'm used too .. it was 91 here on Saturday while I was freezing in Branson .. although the cold snap is coming tonight. Me giving Wildfire a thumbs up while cold.
  4. So yeah .. me and the woman decided to take a weekend trip to Branson this past weekend and didn't expect the cold weather. We did see the forcast for snow but it changed so much. So we left the Dallas area around midnight for some gambling in Oklahoma and left around 4am from the casino $680 up from the $20 we started at .. so I was feeling damn good. We got to Branson around 10am .. stopped at Steak 'N Sheak for some lunch/breakfest then headed up to SDC. So yeah it was cold .. and when they opened at 1pm, we got close to 20 rides on PowderKeg without getting out of the train because it was EMPTY. So after tons of rides in the coldness .. we headed out to check into the hotel and then head back. We arrived back around 530pm, just as it was getting dark. SDC at night and with Xmas is AMAZING. Most of the rides closed at dusk due to drop in temps, when we left at 10pm, it was close to 20 degrees. The next day was more crowded, but still nice. Fire In The Hole was cute all dressed up with christmas lights as well as lights in Marvel Cave even. I think Xmas time is now my fav time to be at SDC. Riding PowderKeg, Wildfire and ThuNderaTion in the dark give new meaning to the rides. Also their shows are second-to-none .. simply some of the best shows I've seen anywhere. And the hot chocolate rules. Photo time: Still one of my favorite rides. First drop at dusk Wildfire .. in the coldness BOOM ! Good ole' PowderKeg The helix of DOOM! Town Square Mmmm christmas time .. I'm still cold Some thing along the lake Gesyer Gulch at night Gingerbread men thinigies ... and some nerd ACK! DONKEY ! The cool Grandfather's Mansion The river rapids ride with frozen water .. at 5pmish too The log flume empty ... weird As you can see .. it was PACKED on friday The big ass 5-story christmas tree Welcome to SDC!
  5. Sum41 - Noots ...
  6. Fiesta and SeaWorld draw different demographics. SeaWorld is the stroller capital of the world while Fiesta is more teens and whatnot. Fiesta's attendance may increase a bit, but Houston is still 4 1/2 hrs from Fiesta and SFOT is 4 1/2 from both Houston and Fiesta .. so don't expect that big of an increase in attendance. Plus Fiesta is a nice park with wolrd-class shows.
  7. Hey I think the same thing and I live 1200+ miles away from SFMM ... so yeah.
  8. I enjoy Mountain, nice Premier Coaster even with its Wieland Schwarzkopf trains.
  9. Closed Rides: Oil Derrick Texas Chute Out Batman: The Ride Mr. Freeze Flashback Bumper Cars Roaring Rapids Splash Water Falls Both Flumes Texas Giant Casa Magnetica So yeah about half the park, well coaster wise and then when you throw in lower operations due to rehabs .. it can get bad.
  10. Cows, new ride for 2006 the Rodeo from SFGAdv and the tree .. one of many random trees they had in the Tree Exhibit thing by the Salvation Army ... typical Texas.
  11. Themeing at SFMM !? Oh, those gang membersand other thugs are themeing I guess for SoCal. The park is a fudging C!? ... forgive me .. but what THE F**K!? And yes Gold Rusher is near Riddlers/Superman stairs/the Rotor
  12. That made my head hurt and when did California shift to the east coast? *Takes tylenol*
  13. So .. first day of Holiday in the Park was Friday (11/25) and I ventured out since the first Friday is usually dead. Well .. we got there at like 3:45 to wait in traffic at the toll plaza for 10 minutes with all lanes open. Ok so the park was a TAD crowded when it opened at 4pm, so I headed to get some quick construction photos since it would be dark soon. After that got a ride on Shockwave, Mine Train, Titan (bleh) and just walked around being dumb. The park was INSANLEY crowded and with alot of rides closed, made it worse. But the cool temps, not cold, but not hot made it nice. Most lines were over 45mins so we skipped alot ... but did get some Fajitas and Pink Things .. mmm Pink Things. Zee Photos!: Xander from the board .. working but stoned at the same time ... this is why Six Flags is loosing money! Old South section Texas Section with lights Texas Chute Out at Christmas time More "snow" ICE .. I mean Snow Hill Good ole Southern Palace Looks very nice at night The model train display, well part of it Play Dr. with Mr. Alvey, he's likes that Hmm .. family park? White Trash Christmas Tree? Mmm Silver Dollar City .. I mean SFOT Ze cows from New Jersey arrived Mmmm Shockwave The smei-new Ben and Jerry's at the front of the park
  14. http://lonestarthrills.com/features/video_gallery/bte-onride.php Excuse how bumpy it is .. but it sucks
  15. Galveston is his first stop, he's actually going to be taking over PR/Media for Schlitterbahn themselfs since Sherri is stepping down. Starting at Galveston since they open in December for the first time, so gives him a base until the other parks and the rest of Galveston opens in May.
  16. Park is decent, you can get a cheap season pass at Cypress Gardens that is good for both parks. They are open year-round so most likely they will be open in March. 9 Coasters, free Screamin' Swing, lot's of Zamperla rides and what not .. I enjoyed my visit there in 2003.
  17. Why would SFGAdv want another ride that doesn't work 3/4th of the time .. pawn it off on another park since they've been getting rid of most of their problematic flats anyway .. just hope SFNE has a decent maintenance staff because SWAT has TONS of problems, just another great prototype from S&S. In the 15-20 times I've been to Astroworld since 2003, SWAT maybe operated twice in that span for more than 2 hours.
  18. Texas Cyclone 10/30/05 .. RIP Texas Cyclone
  19. Hmm well they jsut got a new train and fixed most of the issues with the ride in the last 3 years, plus it takes up very little room, so no need to remove something that the guests enjoy and that doesn't take up alot of room at all.
  20. I'd bet on seeing the Ore Cart reappear at Celebration City along with some new additions this year or next .. they do have alot of stuff there, but attendance isn't great there, and I'm not sure why as to alot of good attractions they have there (Flying Scooters, Wildcat, S&S Double Shot, Fireball)
  21. Bumper Cars is listed as gone, but now they are set to return. Flashback isn't going anywhere and the same for Chubbies. Texas Tornado (Chance YoYo is being relocated to Texas) and El Sombrero is being relocated. The Chuckwagon Grill, Judge Lemondae, Longhorn General Store and Superheros Store are demolished and gone. No rides are being expanded in the parking lot at all, all are being located within the current boundries. I'm not sure what is more accurate, I was informed by my contacts inside the park I've had for year there is a Zamperla Telecombat in the package, but a Flying Tigers is likely .. but I was informed they weren't THAT impressed with the ride.
  22. It's kinda hard to get a clear shot of the whole ride cause of it's placement. There's an observation deck, but other than that it's pretty impossible to get full shots from anywhere else, you can check here: http://www.lonestarthrills.com/gallery2/v/Silver-Dollar-City/Silver-Dollar-City-Wildfire/
  23. Because the Sartori is a piece of junk, much like the ARM one. Larson only did the fabrication and copy on the ride, so don't blame Larson for the crapiness We rode a Sartori at spring con in 04 at the Larson plant .. it never worked right. Edit: It appears this isn't a ARM afterall .. it's a Zamperla, but not sure what model of Zamperla since I've never seen a Zamperla version of this style of ride .. so .. maybe a new ride from Zamperla afterall.
  24. SDC has alot more space than Dollywood did for the expansion. Considering there is NOTHING by SDC and they own ALOT of that land along Indian Point Rd and SR-76
