rumor sfmw's 2006 line up
coaster1 replied to zongaboy626's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There are no original trains from Thriller/Texas Tornado. All 4 were retrofitted in 2002 and one was used for parts since the ride was reduced to running 4 trains in 1999. -

Last time SFFT installed a coaster the attendance dropped alot .. but when they added the Tornado in 2004, they had one of their best seasons ever. Funny ... flats and water park rides better than coasters. -
So yeah .. this weekend we went to Galveston (South of Houston) for the hell of it. We stopped by Astroworld to pick some stuff up from them and get some photos of the deconstruction. Wierd now when you drive up on Astroworld now from the west and don't see Dungeon Drop anymore and the skycoaster is the tallest thing there. Deconstruction is moving along, Serial Thriller is almost 1/2 gone and Ultra Twister is about 1/3 gone. WaterWorld is gone completely and XLR-8 has a crane in it's helix area, so that will prolly start coming down. After Astroworld, we headed to Moody Gardens in Galveston. They've got 3 pyramids with an aquarium, rainforest thingie and "Discovery" pyramid. Also they have a paddle wheel boat, IMAX and Turbo Ride theater, along with the interactive fountains, convention center and hotel. Aquarium is the best with the penguins and seals they have. Rainforest pyramid was cool with bats and lots of birds and monkeys. The Discovery pyramid was closed ... but dunno what was really in there. The IMAX show was "Santa vs. The Snowman" .. had some pretty funny adult humor and anti-microsoft humor which was great. Did the Turbo Ride, which was SpongeBob 4D, same show as PKI, SFOT, Dollywood, etc. After Moody, hit Kemah Boardwalk for food and then hotel to sleep. The next day we headed back to Galveston for the Lone Star Flight Museum and Schlitterbahn. The Flight Museum, Schlitterbahn and Moody Gardens are all right next to each other, so it'll be very nice in the summers. Schlitterbahn Galveston is pretty big now and is progressing nicely and the indoor part should be open in February, not December 10th like planned ... but that was due to things beyond their control (Arson, Hurricanes, etc.) After that .. had some lunch and hit Kemah again then headed home. Even without Astroworld, Houston still has alot and Kemah will be expanding again in 2007 and Landry's is finally around the last legal hurdle with the new Landmark Hotel Pier idea, that will also include rides and a wooden coaster on the pier. Another shot of the DC-3 Continental Airlines DC-3, which is still flyable Aquarium rest. scuplture SBF Mega Bounce and Chane-Morgan Inverter The Chance-Morgan observation tower Kemah rides The Ferris Wheel at Kemah Master Blaster slides Castle, famous from the other Schlitterbahn's Entrance The indoor section area Slides for the indoor section Schlitterbahn Galveston Waterfall thing More birds Birds inside the Rainforest Visitors center (IMAX, Turbo Ride) The Rainforest Pyramid The large hotel The Discovery Pyramid How in the hell do I get their jobs!? Gimmie some CANDY! sharks .. da dum da dum This little guy was dancing mmm penguins Aquarium Pyramid

No other park in the chain wanted it along with Viper, Batman and some other flats like the carousel. If they aren't sold at auction or before the auction, they go bye-bye. Some rides have already been purchased by private citizens or other parks, like Mayan Mindbender. -

Looping Starship is from SFAW for SFOT. Serial Thriller has lift, sidewinder and station/brakes left and that's it. Cranes are currently next to XLR-8 and Batman as well as Ultra Twister which is about 1/3 dismantled. The Von Roll is still standing, but most smaller rides like SWAT, Looney Tunes Rides, etc are gone. WaterWorld is completely gone now. Expect Cyclone and Greezy to stay standing as they aren't going anywhere unless some outside company or person buys them, otherwise they are going to the trash heap. More track stuff Track awaiting shipment Hook's Lagoon area WaterWorld Serial Thriller Batman: The Escape -

If Movies could do it... so could games?
coaster1 replied to Homer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well technically .. Tomb Raider is based off the game, since there would of been no movie without the game ... so therefore .. Tomb Raider rides at PKI, PKD and Canada's Wonderland are after the video game. -
Lets see .. no such product as Adobe Paintshop .. maybe PHOTOshop .. and thats an image editing program not web design program like GoLive, Dreamweaver or FrontPage ... It's simple .. the image isn't centered in the HTML and you can find that information by using the wonderful tool called Google.

Who Have You Met From TPR?
coaster1 replied to PhishyBrewer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ me as well .. but knew Robb & Elissa before the boards .. so .. still the same. Oh yeah also met Mr. Ted at C3 this year and saw a random person at SDC this past weekend .. that count too? -
Just do send money, put robb's email in and send the total .. you may want to add a few extra since paypal charges .. but that's up to you. To add a card, you have to wait until they place 2 deposits in the bank or card then you have to confirm it .. but to send money, you can use any card.

Very crappy coaster and the park is glad they got rid of it. The funhouse and the button still exist and the button still works during Fright Fest .. strobe and all was there.
