  1. Not sarcastic. He's being a realist. This is Magic Mountain we're talking about. If it isn't trims or OTSRs it's lack of maintenance and single train operations. I give it until September before something happens that destroys capacity and the ride experience.
  2. Is this confirmed or are you getting it confused with SFMM and Twisted Collossus. I only ask because I can get round trip airfare to Texas for a SFFT and SFOT run the last week in May for $150.
  3. ^ They've been trying for years and years to buy out the residential space to the west but the property owners just kept telling them no way since they knew they were sitting on a goldmine, probably letting the price rise and rise before eventually selling for retirement. Disney just decided to say the hell with it and buy commercial properties instead. I mean, take a look at this footprint - http://tinyurl.com/q9r9efa Perfect size for a third gate, no? I'm not talking about the actual hotel itself, but the main triangular plot that's mostly hotels.
  4. ^ And so it begins. As long as the Super 8 on Disneyland Drive stays $60, I'm a happy camper.
  5. Swizzeet. Where do I sign up to be a water dummy?
  6. May 23rd?! Ugh, waiting blows. What really sucks is that's immediately following my 4-days off streak from work, haha.
  7. Depending on who feels like actually opening their new coaster next, Lagoon or Fiesta Texas.
  8. If it's anything like Wicked (and being from the same manufacturer with the same trains, I'd say it is), it's a non-issue even with any rattle. No should restraint, maybe you get a butt massage. Wicked was very smooth aside from some slight shiftiness in a turn or two but it was definitely not unpleasant.
  9. You are going to die, to put it lightly. I feel like you're SERIOUSLY underestimating drive time here. When the heck are you planning on sleeping? Denver to SLC alone is a full day of driving, let alone that you need to cognitive ability to navigate through the Rockies. Seriously, dude, I'm all for big and dumb trips, but this schedule you've put together is pure stupidity. You can't live on energy drinks. You will pass out unexpectedly, I don't care how "awake" you think you are.
  10. ^ That doesn't excuse the fact that the ride ops didn't do a proper check. It's not the guest's responsibility to make sure their restraint is properly secured. Sure, we can all pull down a lap bar or shoulder harness but the people who (should) have been properly trained are the ones who are ensuring people don't die.
  11. Oh I hope Mack is behind this. Their coasters are incredible. I'd place them right behind Intamin on the "holy balls this is some wicked stuff" scale. They're not afraid to take risks, unlike some other ::cough:&M::cough:: companies.
  12. Now the real fun begins. Will I be able to get to Texas and ride this before I head to Japan in June? My money is on yes.
  13. ^ That's mainly because all of the big casinos here don't have cheap gambling anymore. It's almost impossible to find anything under $10 per hand at the table games, even downtown. They began catering to the rich and super rich and stopped caring about, you know, the other 90% of people who visit the city. Now it's all about the damned nightclubs and pool parties.
  14. Holy crap, that's insane. I doubt it'll ever come to fruition but it'd certainly be cool if it did.
  15. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Multiple train operation on Cannibal, video uploaded yesterday. Money shot at the 45 second mark.
  16. Dude, why haven't I seen this movie yet? That looks so insanely dumb, but in a good way. Also, bangin' on a bed of money. Come on!
  17. ^ Good on them for having that bear actually help out for once.
  18. ^ A metric buttload of electrical systems? There's way more to a ride like this than just a few projectors and screens.
  19. There's a reason those of us who have been on it affectionately call U-571 by it's proper name, "The Drowning Simulator." Did I mention there's a crazed, angry German man screaming at you the entire time? Because there is.
  20. ^ Maybe. Maybe not. Like he said there's no fastpass option so it looks like you're just gonna have to try your luck. IIRC there's only like 10 rides total so even with lines you'll be able to get everything done very easily. Just make sure you wear swim trunks for U-571. Trust me.
  21. ^ NICE! I'm glad to see they went with the face-to-face seating option!
  22. ^ Considering Goliath was running 2 trains and still managed to have 5 minute dispatch intervals during my last visit, I don't think an extra train would help. They'll all be stacked up on the brakes anyway.
  23. Judging by the video it only dropped a total of 3 inches (ok, maybe a foot).
