Europa Park Discussion Thread
KBrylczyk replied to Ultracoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Whew! That was a close one. Last time I was there I got launched out the bottom of the one facing the carousel and almost ended up inside of the carousel. Wicked slides, haha! -

^ Oh thank god. In that case, Dollywood and Carowinds are easily one-day parks. They're lots of fun but nothing worth losing sleep over. I can't talk about SFOG since I've never been, but I can't imagine it's much different. -
Tower of Terror Airtime???
KBrylczyk replied to canadianparkfan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ That's a photo for the record books. I do think it's funny that you chose the worst two ToT's as your faves, haha. Orlando's has the best airtime without a doubt. California and Paris have the same awful design (aesthetic and functional) but deliver the screams. Tokyo DisneySea has the absolute best themeing and design but the worst drop profile, though still a TON of fun! -
Drop Towers On Buildings?
KBrylczyk replied to canadianparkfan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
LaQua's drop no longer exists, unfortunately. Anyways, after having been on Lex Luthor, I gotta say, anything above 400 feet loses its thrill. I'm not sure if it's the height or the construction, but Lex Luthor really didn't wow me like others did. Blue Fall, as 350 feet and as a standalone tower, was WAY scarier and a better ride experience. Being connected to a building would, I feel, eliminate the sense of falling over. Edit - To clarify - Blue Fall - False drop or no, once you fell, you FELL! Straight down, zero-G, free fall like you're gonna die. Lex Luthor - The brakes release, you fall, but there's laterals left and right because the tower isn't perfectly vertical, also it's always swaying due to size. The laterals ruin the thrill. They let you know you're still being controlled. -

Dude, holy crap, give us a timeline. By the sounds of it you want to do 3 parks in 2 days with 1,400+ miles of driving. That's immposible. -
As awesome as I'm sure this will be, I fear that they're making the same mistake as last year with the Dracula Untold maze. The event and maze opened a full month before the movie was released. For 75% of the event, nobody knew what the story was, it was just a haunt. The immersion goes away when you're not familiar with the story. Dracula Untold was one of the haunts that wasn't too well-received, as well, probably for this very reason.

West Coast Bash 2015!
KBrylczyk replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ All in due time. Details will come out like the week before or so. Patience, dude. You're not far off with your assumptions, though. Also, about that "sleep" you speak of on Saturday night. Good joke. Edit - Just bought my tickets for both days. Yeeha! Where are all of the cool people staying on Saturday night? KBF Hotel? Econo Lodge? IHOP? -

As horrible as I know crowds will be at this place, I'm kinda sorta looking forward to being there and telling all of the line cutters that there's no way in hell they're getting past me. Kinda like my time at SFOT. It's a wonderful feeling when you shame some idiot into walking to the back of the line where they belong. -

You're a few pages late to the party, pal. -
Just got back from the park's new Disco Nights event! That was awesome! I don't have any photos since, well, electronics and water don't mix. Hopefully Shane will be able to share some of his own! Anyway, the event was a ton of fun! The park was open until 10pm with some great accent lighting all around the park and tons of disco music playing all around! The staff members were getting into it with dancing and singing and even wearing huge, ridiculous 70s wigs (afros, up-dos, etc)! The atmosphere was great! All of the guests were having a great time and commenting on how pretty the park was and were also dancing to the music. I saw smiles everywhere for every age. Might as well mention Wild Surf, too. Ummmm, HOLY CRAP! This thing is downright terrifying! The drop into the wave has ejector airtime that's more intense than any coaster I've been on! It's massive and you get completely drenched, all while laughing like an idiot. Tons of fun and an incredible addition to an already top notch park! Beach Blanket Banzai, the other family raft addition this year, is much more mild but still very fun to ride. If you get spinning you'll have even more fun! It's very long and provides a beautiful trip with the Lake Mead Recreation Area on the horizon. Great work by the Cowabunga Bay crew on this event!
