Universal Japan now offers Harry Potter And The Forbidden Journey in full 4K3D! https://www.usj.co.jp/e/attraction/att_detail/harry-potter-and-the-forbidden-journey.html I wonder if this will make the awkward transition between the live sets and domes less jarring. Now if only they can fix the abrupt speed issue, too. The dome portions have it seem like you're moving super fast flying around while the live set portions just crawl by.

I'm so disappointed that you didn't experience U-571. That's easily the most insane ride in the country. Great report otherwise, though! -
^ Yeah, I'll bet that HoJo is foaming at the mouth for some sweet Disney money right now. I mean seriously, is there any hotel in that immediate area that actually deserves the prices they charge? I stay at the Super 8 on Disneyland Drive every time I visit for $60, which is perfectly fair, especially since it's a pretty awesome Super 8 and they let me keep my car there to avoid parking charges. Every hotel in that triangle lot by the Carousel asks insane prices simply for their location. Meanwhile none of those properties are ones I would consider spending $40 to stay at anywhere else.

Noticed it earlier today before even seeing this post. I like it! -
I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm saying prices vary for all destinations and origins. Simple as that.

^ I don't believe you about the flight and car rental. Flight prices change depending on where you're flying from. For instance, myself, coming form Vegas, getting to DFW is under $200 round trip pretty much every day. Austin, however, is $250-$500 depending on when I'm flying. Car rental at DFW wasn't bad, either, at $32 per day. The point I'm trying to make is that you should do some research on your own end, jarmor. Everything bert425 mentioned about distance is great information to have, but when it comes to flights and rentals, well, obviously things change in big ways for different people.

Just booked my flight and rental car, gonna be in the bay area the 16th through the 18th. Never been to SFDK and was hoping some regulars could give me some pointers. I'll be visiting on the 17th, possibly in the evening on the 16th (hotel in Vallejo) depending on if I feeling frisky. Should I expect the typical Six Flags rule of half the rides being closed? Will I be able to ride Superman? The basics, really, haha.

Let me clarify that Toruk (the Cirque show) and the exhibition are two totally different beasts. Cirque is not involved with the exhibition. That being said, what I've seen for Toruk is pretty cool so far. Unfortunately I can't say anything more as it's all super secret, but it'll definitely be something you want to see. Source - I work for Cirque. Employees have been receiving almost weekly emails updating us on the project.
