  1. ^ Slow season means maintenance season. Xcelerator is, well, always one train. Silver Bullet's second train is currently in pieces being taken care of. I can only assume the same goes for Sierra Sidewinder. Pony Express only really needs a second train if there's a large crowd. I hope I don't have to explain Monty and Boomerang.
  2. ^ It's also in a pretty crap location. Too far to be walking distance to Disney, surrounded by residential areas, the opposite direction from Knott's, etc. If they bought land a few block north they could have joined the other grouping of hotels right around Disneyland and the convention center. They're not even close to the stadium! It's as if they looked at a map of Orange County points of interest and then decided to not be near any of them.
  3. ^ You shut your mouth. Don't give Comcast any ideas. Jaws is the greatest thing Universal ever produced...aside from Space Fantasy.
  4. ^ As a kid my pops always booked us at the Marriott World Center. The glass elevators blew my mind back then, haha.
  5. Still going with this Craig's guess on this one. Especially with the number of riders per vehicle (60) which is the exact same number as the two most recent immersion tunnel installations in Europe. ^Well we know there's a suspended train, so that could be it. But i imagine that it'll be more than just an immersive tunnel with the amount they're paying for it Perhaps the immersion tunnel is the main portion of the attraction but there's more than one part? Isn't Legoland's Ghost attraction a combination of different experiences? I've not been but I seem to remember it being advertised as a mirror maze, haunt, and indoor drop ride all-in-one. This could easily be the same idea which would explain the huge budget. Edit - I'm NOT saying it'll be a mirror maze, haunt, and drop ride. Just a combination of different things, the immersion tunnel most likely being the centerpiece.
  6. I still don't understand how I'm in such a minority about Iron Rattler. That thing is the bee's knees and much better than NTAG, imho. NTAG has an awesome first half but then peters out very quickly and just lolligags through the rest of the ride. iRat goes hard, fast, and mean from the top of the lift to the brakes with tons of airtime and speed. 1 - iRat 2 - NTAG 3 - Wicked Collossus Gonna be riding Outlaw Run in a month.
  7. ^^ Yet another reason for me to not stay onsite. The Holiday Inns on I-Drive are much cheaper and I always rent a car anyway.
  8. I can't speak for everyone, but their work on Timberhawk at Wild Waves is easily their best. For those who don't believe me - http://www.rockymtnconstruction.com/portfolio.php
  9. Shorter and slightly modified Divertical layout. Nothing wrong with that!
  10. ^ That's cool and all, but I'd just be happy if they could get the damn fog to work consistently.
  11. ^ Nah, Titanic is boring. Replace Wizard Of Oz with The Revenant. Instead of the witch coming out they have a huge bear lunge at the guests while Leo grunts and screams elsewhere.
  12. ^ After speaking with one of the engineers about this project, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say Gale Force is going to be much more intense than a Sky Rocket. I'm not trying to knock the Sky Rockets, though, as I think they're excellent rides. They're incredibly fun and weird. This S&S version, though, will be a different type of experience that focuses much more on terrifying amounts of negative Gs. Sky Rockets really only had one big pop of air while this thing will be almost nonstop.
  13. ^ Is that robot what Captain EO was supposed to be before they cast Michael Jackson? Also, boob.
  14. ^ Nah, this will immediately start playing - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRBT3vbcWb4
  15. ^ Six Flags - We put the "Yea!" in Yeast infection!
  16. I stand corrected on the express pass. Definitely buy it. That's because it's about to die a sad death for minions.
  17. ^ Exactly. This is frigging Six Flags we're talking about. They're the industry leader with horrific dispatch times. This will make any ride equipped with this crap the slowest line in the park. Hell, I'm pretty sure Revolution will now guarantee a longer load time than X2 at Magic Mountain. I'd agree, but at a place where I trust in the cleaning capability of their employees.
  18. You thought wait times were long already? Just WAIT until this season when you experience the thrill of seeing literally every guest not know how to put on a headset! And that's not all, we're now offering free head lice, acne, and pink eye for every guest that tries this new feature! The gift that keeps on giving! Now THAT'S Six Flags value!

  20. ^ IIRC, the express pass lets you go buck wild on the included rides except Harry Potter land and Hollywood Dream. I seem to remember the rest of the attractions that offered it were unlimited. As for whether or not it's a smart idea to go without the express pass, I'd say that if you're planning on doing Harry Potter it's a must. If you don't care about Potter and don't mind some lines, you might as well give it a try without the express pass, just go straight to Hollywood Dream Back Drop to start your day.
