Dollywood Discussion Thread

I don't think there's an official TPR event like West Coast Bash but I can guarantee that members will be there. There's a Thrills In The Hills thread somewhere so between that and this thread you should have no problem organizing a get-together at the event itself. Oh, well. They should have had the foresight to know that nothing is a guarantee. I won't be getting to Phantasialand until June but if I get there and Taron is still not open, I'll just go and have a hell of a time in the rest of that incredible park. Kinda like I'd do at Dollywood. Just because one ride, anticipated it may be, is closed doesn't mean you're completely shafted. Had people made big travel plans and Dollywood announced today that they've sold to Six Flags and they've taken the liberty of one-training every coaster and putting skeleton crew ops into play, there'd be cause for headaches. As it stands, quit being such babies. -

It's OK, you can say it. Expedition GeForce. Luckily I scored one backseat ride before it died. -

^ Holy crap that launch is much faster than I'd anticipated! Going over the first two hills in the front of the train will be airtime heaven! -

They decided that about 10 minutes ago? I figured that would have been part of every testing process since the beginning of time. "Hey does this thing work?". "I don't know open it up and let's find out." Wasn't that the protocol with Son Of Beast? -

Ugh, thankfully! That dome was an eyesore, honestly. Next step, Temple of the Night Hawk/Hollywood Tour! You shut your mouth. Hollywood Tour is a masterpiece of modern dark ride technology! I love that thing! First ride of the day when the park opens! -

^ You could say that about any amusement park anywhere because I can guarantee they've all been visited by a few people that aren't locals at some point in time. Doesn't change the fact that they're regional, non-resort destinations. Would you consider Luna Park at Coney Island a non-regional park? I sure wouldn't, even though it gets a ton of tourist traffic.

You mean this will (most likely) be included in the HHN haunt list so they can cut another haunt off the event. Maybe they'll repeat one or two haunts again just like last year, leaving us with two, maybe three new ideas if we're lucky, all while increasing the event price again and still no return of VIP. They may surprise me but after last year's deliberate price-gouge compared to years past, I'm not holding my breath.

Whoohoo! That was a ride trapped in the early 90s. I'm surprised they're completely removing the dome, though. -

Going with the vest restraints on this, I see. Nice. -
That's awesome, though in my experience it's always the women giving up on going on rides later in the day. My mom did it, my sister did it, meanwhile pops and I went wild straight through the closing bell. Ha, last time I was at Disneyland even my better half refused to go on Splash Mountain and waited for me by the exit. I got drenched. We're talking soaked to the bone, holy crap Splash Mountain has never been that wet in history. She laughed until she couldn't breathe when I came waddling down the exit ramp with my wet underwear and socks.
