Good Eating Outside of Theme Parks
KBrylczyk replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Naw, dude, it's all about Karl Strauss Brewery in SoCal. There's one that borders the Legoland property (in the business park). There's also one in CityWalk at USH, as well as few in San Diego and one in Temecula. If there's a Karl Strauss within a reasonable distance while I'm at a SoCal park you can bet that I'll be making the trip for dinner. The food is fresh and interesting, the menu changes every now and then, and the beers are incredible. http://www.karlstrauss.com/ -

While this project is a huge stepping stone towards much larger versions if it's successful, I am kinda bummed that the gyro-track section wasn't included. That looked super badass in the video! -
Man killed on ropes course in Orlando, FL
KBrylczyk replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Such a shame, especially on Christmas Eve. If it's like Dollywood's Adventure Mountain there may have been some kind of break in the track or outward dent, but it's all speculative at this point. Sad day. -
^ Honestly in San Diego you won't find a better price until you get pretty well out of town. I've looked a few times just to see what was available and I keep going back to the Good Nite Inn because the price can't be beat. You may find something around $60 in the Hotel Circle area which is about a mile east of the Good Nite Inn location - https://www.google.com/maps/place/Hotel+Cir+N,+San+Diego,+CA+92108/@32.7596065,-117.1764306,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x80deaad3ab4b5bf5:0xb8fdee3baf1a4365 Honestly, though, we stayed in that area once and it didn't seem like the safest place to be. There were a bunch of shady characters around.

^ You guys bring up good points, haha. I've stayed there 3 times and never had a problem, though. Here's a map of the location - https://www.google.com/maps/place/Good+Nite+Inn/@32.7613289,-117.2171101,16z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x80deaae59f59ca53:0x349d923d936894fb I definitely had a good laugh when the first thing listed is "Strip Clubs" before "Cheap hotel."

Oh hey, it worked this time! Photo dump! Top notch view at the hotel again! 'MURICA! Super packed today... Knott's version of the Small World clock. I swear it makes the exact same ticking noise. Twisty! Bass. All about dat. Silver Bullet Most terrifying coaster on the planet! BY GOD IT'S COMING RIGHT FOR US! Jealous of these lines yet? We are on a log flume! Time for multiple rides on Xcelerator without leaving the station! Ran with no brakes until the second half. Tons of fun! Where are we now? Hairtime! The Calico Saloon Revue! Yes, I was the one picked to sing with her and no, there are no pictures of that. Whoooo! Here's that Sierra Sidewinder shot I mentioned. The timing couldn't be better!

Photo and Vine dump from a month ago! Life got busy and I never had the chance to get these posted with a proper report. Better late than never, though! There's a shot of Sierra Sidewinder in here that I'm especially proud of. You'll know it when you see it. First up, though, are the Vines! [vine]https://vine.co/v/OgPVZPVpEde[/vine] [vine]https://vine.co/v/OgP9nXqe952[/vine] [vine]https://vine.co/v/OgPEXdmhpMA[/vine] [vine] [/vine] [vine]https://vine.co/v/OgP2ETj33J7[/vine] [vine] [/vine] [vine]https://vine.co/v/OgPQKxgdJd3[/vine] For some reason the photo uploader is giving me problems. Maybe later.

2014 ChrisHanKwanSivus Gift Exchange!
KBrylczyk replied to Brandy524's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My gifts arrived! Well, actually, they arrive earlier this week and I finally stopped by the apartment office to pick up the packages, hahaha. Rocket Raccoon Bobblehead, a Baymax pin, and an Olaf "ICEA" Instructional Poster were the main gifts. There were also a bunch of park maps and guides thrown in for good measure. Thanks a ton, Tyler (disney4me2001)!!! -
Being New Year's Weekend you may be in for a bit of a crowd. I wouldn't buy in advance, though. Play it by ear and decide once you're in the park. Every ride has a single rider entrance except Despicable Me, but if you ask the greeters our front where it is they'll probably let you up the express entrance. That's what they did for me back in the spring, at least.

Back in 2012 while I was working on a show on tour we ended up in Tennessee for the opening weekend of Dollywood's Smokey Mountain Christmas. We has to get from Memphis to Atlanta over the weekend. Now, for those of you who don't know the state, Memphis and Pigeon Forge are on opposite ends of the state. It would have been way easier for us to drive southeast through Mississippi and Alabama to get to Atlanta. We had other plans. Nobody on the cast or crew had been to Dollywood before and since we had the weekend off we decided to say screw it and go! We drove across that state that night and had a fantastic weekend at Dollywood. The Christmas event is superb like Robb says and the park itself is one of my favorites! Highly, highly recommended to get out there if you can!

I can't wait to make the drive back up to SLC next summer. My first visit to Lagoon this past July was fantastic and the park went completely above and beyond my expectations! Cannibal looks like it's gonna be well worth the 6 hour drive.
