Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
Cixot replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh no, you got it all wrong. This is just something I would like to see. I know for a fact that the majority wouldn't, and I accept that. This is just something I think about time to time. Call me jealous, but my favorite type of ride is the B&M Invert model. The closest one to me is Cedar Point and that's 4 hours away. I just wish we had one. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
Cixot replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks Robb. I've been looking for something like this since I joined the site 2 months ago. KI is my home park and I've always wanted to make some changes to it since Paramount took it over. I know that some of these ideas of mine are harsh, but it's just something I've always wanted. Fact: KI doesn't have an Invert. Why a park this big and with this many coasters and not have an Invert is beyond me? I thought long and hard about this, but I came to 3 choices. Remove Backlot- We already have 5 family coasters if you count Racer. I can see a nice underground tunnel going to DB's Final brakes where a Cobra Roll would be. Remove FireHawk - Yes I know, we just got this 2 years ago, but the wait times are horrendous with this thing. I've never waited under 15 minutes when it would of been a walk on any other ride there with the amount of people in line. The fastest I seen the load, into position, back to upright, and then finally unload was 5 minutes. That's terrible. Plus having the sun bake you as you go up the lift hill and at the final brakes is no fun. Remove Son of Beast - A perfect opportunity has opened up since SOB hasn't been running in the past 2 months. This ride is beyond ridable lol. The loop was without a doubt the star element of the ride. Without this, we have a boring layout, mass bumpiness, lame ride. Even since the new trains have been put on, I find that they will shake left to right throughout the entire ride. I honestly don't feel safe whenever I ride it. But you also don't have to take out any rides. Over at KIextreme.com, there members have been discussing adding a new section to the park behind racers. Having a pathway extend X-Base all the way to Action Theater. Placing a couple coasters back there would also be a good idea. But I don't see this happeneing for a couple of years. Also I would replace Vortex with a B&M Floorless, and keep the name. Vortex is a really rough ride. When I was shorter, my head would bounce back and forth between the restraints. Now that I'm taller, it's not that bad, but it's still a rough coaster. But hey, this is all my opinion. -
My Trip to the Midwest's Best...and Worst
Cixot replied to CreditCrazy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
To answer you question about where you took that DB pic back in the forest, you were in White Water Canyon's line. I took two pics from that angle myself. Wow, it seemed like you just had a horrible time at KI. I know were not famous for our coasters, but I still enjoy the one's we have. Yes I have noticed that DB is starting to rattle a lot at the bottom of the hills. When it first opened, this wasn't apparent, but every time I go back, it's getting worse and worse. Flight of Fear is my 2nd favorite ride there. The MCBR didn't use to be that slow. I'm not to sure why they made that sudden change. Maybe because there is 3 trains. (I could never tell how many it has.) In all honestly, I think Firehawk is just a waste of a coaster. It's my 3rd fav there, but the loading/unloading procedure is just to long. A line where it could be a 5 minute wait at DB, would be at least 20 at FireHawk. I wish KD would of gotten it instead, while we could of had Dominator. I'm not going to lie, I lol'ed when you said you puked on Face-Off. I just don't see how you can on that ride. I agree with Italian Job, and Adventure Express. IMO, I think they should be replaced with more thrilling rides. But hey, that's just me. Your really lucky though with your trip. Lately the lines have gotten a lot longer since it's the middle of summer. Rides where it would either be a walk-on now has become 20 minutes or greater. So you really should be thankful you didn't run into that, since KI is a popular park. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

Whenever I'm in line at KI's Drop Zone, the ride op will explain that this gyro tower is the tallest and fastest gyro tower in the world. I know it's the tallest, but it's not the fastest. That belongs to KD's Drop Zone. -
Most Overrated coaster?
Cixot replied to BlackWidow's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Millennium force wasn't about airtime. It was about height and speed. Which it gave a lot of. IMO, Vortex at King's Island. It's nice to have a custom looper, but Arrow's that I've been on are just to rough. When I was smaller my head would bounce back and forth between the the restraints. Now that I'm taller it's better, but it's still an overrated IMO. A B&M floorless would make a better looper. -
Mantis is the only one I've been on, so I guess that one.

Do we have a King's Island discussion thread? If we don't, I suggest making this one into that. -

When to visit Kings Island this week?
Cixot replied to DBru's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thursday I went last Thursday, and the lines were unbearable at times. It seemed like everything was walk on until around 12pm. We rode everything except FireHawk. Sleep is not an issue for me. I usually have no sleep before we go. And we go about 1-2 times a week. Friday I wouldn't go if I was you. It's going to be crowded. Saturday Since the park is closing at 12am only 4 times this year (besides HH later this year) I would expect the rides to be crowded. I can't remember who, but somebody on here said they had the busiest day working there, and it was the 2nd time they did this. Obviously it's up to you. But since it's the middle of summer right now, the lines are just going to be longer then they usually are. I mean, I saw Diamondback, Flight of Fear, and Firehawk for the the first time with filled switchbacks and that was on a Thursday. Imagine how bad that would be on a weekend. -
Kings Island Trip report 7-17-09
Cixot replied to noahman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't call any of the rides by there new names. Most of them are just terrible, and they could of honestly done better. The old names were better. Seriously, The "Crypt" is a large ugly looking buliding. At lest they could of put fake trees and branches/vines all over it to give it more of a jungle look. -
What is your favorite pizza chain and one of a kind place?
Cixot replied to edh's topic in Random, Random, Random
I didn't know this thread's purpose was to bash people's favorite pizza. Wow, even stereotyping too. So what if I like it. Most people don't even like the kind of pizza I like anyway. But Cici's will gladly make it for me. Whenever I go there, I get my money's worth. $4 for a pizza, bread sticks, and brownies is a good deal to me. -
It's my gamertag backwards.

GT = iM T0xic (That's a zero) I play Halo 3, Fallout 3, and Oblivion. Just to let everyone know, I play Halo seriously. I'm not that kind of guy that yells at you for every little thing you do wrong though. I just don't like to lose. My GT bio is all about Rollercoasters lol.

A 6 inch sub alone there was $7. Basically everything there is about $4-$5 overpriced. So if you absouelty need something, I recommend brining a sandwhich and going back to your car and eat it. Taco Bell, McDonald's, and Burger King are right next to the street that takes you Kings Island. There's a bunch of other places on the other side of the bridge over the highway. I'm not to sure of what's over there, but there is plenty. You won't get loss since it's only 2 streets away. You'll see the Taco Bell and the McDonald's right before you turn into KI.
-
I recommend leaving the park to eat somewhere else. Like I said in my last post, they have a Subway there. I paid $15 for a 6 inch sub, cookie, and a drink. Not worth it. You can save much more, and drive a couple minutes up the street and they got everything there. I also recommend just getting a cup of water if your thirsty. All pop machines are $3.75 for one 20oz. The price for food and drinks really add up if you don't prepare for it.

It's $32 for a 1 day ticket at Krogers. If you have AAA, you can get a ticket for $27 Why all the hate on going on DB first? The line goes by extremely fast. Your almost never standing still. This is my order for the park, and I find that I can get everything done before 2pm. -Diamondback -FireHawk -Flight of Fear -Vortex -The Beast -Diamondback again. (It's around noon by now, and everyone is going to be eating, or at the waterpark.) -Racer -Delirium -Face Off -Drop Zone -Top Gun Adventure Express and Italian Job isn't worth it. I find that it's usually around 2pm-4pm after doing all of this. I either leave the park to go eat. (Not paying $15 for a 6inch sub, a cookie, and a bottle water again.) or go to the water park to chill by the wavepool for a couple hours. Diamondback, FireHawk, Flight of Fear, and The Beast are repeats. Just make sure to ride FireHawk really early or really late. Everyone is at Diamondback at these times. (Even though it still goes really fast) You're pretty much gurateneed about a 10-20 minute wait if you do it this way.

How Old Are You & What Was Your 1st Coaster?
Cixot replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Beast. I was forced to go on it when I was 7. I cried until we got to the end. Then I started laughing. Glad my parents did that for me, otherwise I probably wouldn't of been this big into coasters if they didn't. -
Favorite Coaster Color Scheme
Cixot replied to CoasterExpert13's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I love silver/grey supports with either light blue or red track. I think they fit well together. Like Diamondback and FireHawk at Kings Island. -
What is the best floorless?

Has a waterslide ever scared you?
Cixot replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh yeah. Before they took out the speed slides for racing ones at Kings Island, I was scared out of my mind with the tallest one. My dad made me go all the way up there. I believe they were about 8-10 stories up. I was only 7 or 8 at the time. Had the biggest weggie ever after that ride lol. About 2 weeks ago when I went to KI, I went on these enclosed slides that were also racing slides. There was 3 of them. The 2 side slides were exactly the same, while the middle slide from what it looked like, went straight down lol. I went full force and pushed my self out into it. I didn't touch the bottom of the slide until the very bottom. When I did, my head nailed the bottom of the slide. I can not tell you how much pain I was in for about 10 minutes. I didn't say anything, since it was kind of my fault anyway. Lesson learned. Never get a head start on the middle slide. -
Kings Island Trip July 18th
Cixot replied to raptor2011's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've haven't went on a weekend in years at KI, but it might not be to different. DB- You said you have a Platinum pass, so I would ride DB's ERT. You'll get about 2-3 rides in before the park opens. The Beast - Also has an ERT. Try going there next. FireHawk - This is a must ride when it opens. This line can get very hectic throughout the entire day, just because of the horrible loading/unloading times. FoF- It's right next door, so I would ride this next. You've ridden the 4 best rides in the park IMO, so everything else is up to you. Being a weekend, it's going to be more crowded, so I would say everything would be anywhere from 30-60 minutes longer then usual. -

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
Cixot replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice. Can't wait to go there in 2010. I'll be sure to check this out first. -
I'm sure this has been said before in this thread, but I didn't see anything about it in the first post. I'm going to SFMM for the first time in about 5 days. I need to know what is the best route to take to try and get every ride in. The main rides I really want to ride is -Scream (Never been on a floorless) -Riddler (I want to say I rode the tallest/fastest) -Batman -Goliath -Dejva (Never been on a Giant boomerang.) -Tastu (Again with the tallest/fastest) -X2 (Never been on 4th dimension) -Terminator Will I be able to get all these rides in? I'm worried about Terminator since it's new. If I can't ride all the rides, I won't be disappointed. I tried at Cedar Point and couldn't lol.
