Man I was totally hooked on that game way back then. I started playing it when I was in my early teens when my brother bought a 3DO. In fact I don't think I did any homework for weeks after I first got a hold of it.
-
Maybe one of it's sequels, but not GoW itself. It's far too short to be the best all time game.
-
Hold the 'R' button. Yes, I know you can do that. But it's still annoying to have to hold a button to free look. The control scheme that has one analog 100% devoted to free looking is so much better.
-
I'd consider it more of a rail shooter. I couldn't get past it's controls. I'm just too used to being able to look with the second analog stick. Which isn't possible with the castrated 2nd analog stick on the gamecube.

SFNO/Jazzland Discussion Thread

^ I didn't really mean that it should go to SFDL. I just meant to that type of park. I wouldn't really expect SFDL to get it because I think it's more likely the park gets sold. Wouldn't Batman be of better quality though then the old crap that SF already has sitting around? -

^ Do you think it's likely that they'd sell it to a competing park? I figure'd they just move it to a smaller park that wouldn't have the money for a decent new coaster. Like Darien Lake or something. (if they don't sell the park, but you get the idea) -

^^ Well to even ask yourself that question requires that you ride it again. And I really don't think I'll ride it again. Or at least the chances are slim. -
Yeah, I bet you're right. I still remember my first ride on it. At first I put my arms up and started to yell like I would on a good launch coaster. Then I looked around, looked at my watch, pulled my arms down, realized we were only halfway down the launch track. I thought to myself "Man, this is dull". And the weightlessness was nothing like what was hyped up.

^ Just remember to get the gas money from Belson before you post the pics. Gas prices are what $10 per gallon down in the south? -
I wouldn't shed any tears if they got ride of Superman. To be honest I found it really boring when I rode it. After riding many impulse's and rocket coasters I found the launch to be pretty pathetic. It might reach 100mph, but it seems like it takes forever. It had no punch like the rocket coasters have. Plus it sounded like an F-14 taking off.

^ Well the top tier flagship parks pretty much all have one. But this ride would be a major boost for one of the smaller neglected parks. -

There's what 21 Six Flags branded parks, 8 of which have Batman The Ride's. That leaves like 13 parks that could use SFNO's Batman. Many of which badly need a good ride. -
Video Game Hardware sales for Nov 06

Sony did not win because of that. To be honest the PS2 was a really crappy DVD player. Mine would barely play DVDs. Dreamcast was a stronger system with better games. Sony won only because it's hype machine crushed Sega. -

You're second suggestion is probably very true. -

More surprising is less 360's sold than PS2s. Why are people still buying PS2s?? -
It's hard to get both those conditions together. Either you go in May or September with little crowds but cool weather. Or you go in June/July/August have warm weather but big crowds. Personally I prefer the 2 or 3 weekends in September afer Labour Day before Halloweekends start. Weather is still decent, and there are no crowds. The park will be empty in May, howver the weather will be unpredictable.

On-Ride Coaster Video

The quality on PCW's topgun seemed pretty good to me. I was tempted to buy it, but didn't want to spend $20. You could clearly see the look of pain on my face as my cheeks were getting slapped into the restraints during the rain. -
I only watch these shows to watch them fail. I always want to see them win a cent. Or on Millionare I like seeing them get the first question wrong, etc. Guess I'm just cruel.

Top Gun at Canadas Wonderland. I wasn't about to pay $20 for an onride video of an SLC though. -

Ghoster Coaster is a kiddy coaster, and Minebuster and Wild Beast suck. They're ranked right where they deserve to be. Minebuster would have ranked alot higher had Paramount not castrated the ride. -

Probably get's pulled down by the many people who have not been back to the park in years. I've only been to the park back in the SFWoA days. So because of that it gets ranked near the bottom of my list. I'm sure there's quite alot of other people who have not ridden it since it's been fully retracked, and probably won't anytime soon either. -

I found Raven and Legend to be fairly average. Good, but nothing special. Voyage blew me away. There's not many rides that can leave me winded by the time it's over. -

I'll probably do this like the wood poll. Work on it a little bit each day. Sort, shuffle, repeat, until I'm happy with my order. -

Yeah, Megaphobia wasn't very high on my list either. It was running too sluggish when I rode it. I wish I had gotten a ride in later after it had warmed up though.
