^ No, it's quite out in the open. And what conspiracy?, you even voted for yourself! -

Don't believe everything the dip n dots guy tells you. If someone actually told you something, and told you not to say, why keep mentioning that you "know something" but can't tell? -

And the Flyer wooden coaster if you go WAY back. CNE isn't the same without Doppel Looping. -

The carnival used to be run by Conklin, but I think they were bought out. I haven't been in a few years, although a couple weeks ago I was in the area for a concert. They have a crazy mouse, as well as a star flyer. But that's all I could really see from the road. The midway there tends to be somewhat craptacular from what I remember. -

At Dorney the rapids ride and splash boat are right next to the water park, and they let you ride without shoes. I liked it, as it meant we could walk over there from the water park and ride in our bathing suits. Nothing is worse then walking around in wet shoes and socks. Although the problem at Dorney was that the exit ramps for those two rides were bare steel grating that took the longest path possible back to the midway. Made for a very slow painful walk back to the midway. -
Stand Up Coasters

Ok, so it doesn't matter to B&M. But it would matter to the client, and that's what important. The client wants something new and interesting. They don't always want the same old that has been put in over and over again. They want something different that doesn't exist under a different name just down the road. If no one's interested in buying, then the model drifts away. Kind of like why no one buys boomerangs except small parks which can get them used. -
Stand Up Coasters
Carnage replied to MASH80554077's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
By flexibility I mean what kinds of elements the ride can perform. Of course B&M cares about that part of the ride. Standups can't have as strong lateral Gs as sitdown coasters for instance. They have to think about the comfort of the riders more then they would on a sitdown. Similar idea with the flyers. They tend to shy away from any sort of element which puts strong outward forces on the riders. Meaning most of the elements flyers perform with the riders on their backs. Like the pretzel loops and inside loops. You don't see outside verticle loops on flyers for instance. Probably because it would be far too uncomfortable on the riders. There are much less physical limitations on a standard sit down train. Which is partly why sit down hypers/mini-hypers, floorless, dive machines, etc will outlive the gimick offerings. -
Maintenance workers on steel coasters don't do daily walks of the track like with wooden coasters. So as much of a task as it would be to inspect SD2K, it's not like they're going to be doing it daily.

Stand Up Coasters

Also there's only so much you can do with a stand up. It's not as flexible a concept as standard sit downs. Same idea with the flyers. Somewhat popular now, but that fad will end at some point also. -

Standup is just a fad that has passed. -

It's sure a strange looking ride. Like a giant ski jump. -

Only trained profesionals do the diving. I don't think it would be a good idea to have just anyone jumping off a 70 foot cliff. Especially considering that at least once they've had to pull people out of that waterfall who have drowned. -

Skyliner nearly broke my spine when I rode it in the back row. I think it hit a pothole halfway through the course, and I felt the shock of the impact all the way up my back. Great TR Erik, I like how you sum up the coasters at the end. -
I couldn't watch more of a couple episodes of that season. Although I couldn't help but laugh when the mother got run over by the cart.
-
Who won All-star anyways? I lost interest a couple episodes after Rob&Amber were kicked off, and never got back into watching it. I lost interest with Survivor at that exact time as well.
-
Hopefully I can get back into this series. I lost interest partway through the all-star season, and stopped watching.

That definetly makes sense. I'm tall enough, that on Togo's it's my shoulders that take most of the impact. I get some pretty good jolts, but it doesn't bother me too much as my shoulders can take more punishment then my head. Probably the reason why SLCs and boomerangs don't phase me much either. In fact I've always thought CW's boomerang and SLC were two of the better one's. I've never quite gotten how everyone considers them two of the worst. It's quite possible though that they've bashed me so good that I've forgotten how bad they are. -

It's not idiotic. Sure, it's random chance. But it has to happen eventually, so the longer you go without one, the odds go up. -

Perhaps those footers were larger, and had to set longer due to earthquake requirements? Just a guess ... -
Strange, my xbox360 actually likes the TPR dvd's the best. Plays easier in the 360 then they do on the PC or DVD player. Have you tried cleaning the DVDs? Dust or finger prints can sometimes cause problems.
