  1. I collect coaster credits. And no, I am not saying that to be funny or obnoxious (it isn't, anyway). I simply think of it as a collection. Other than that, I don't really collect anything, but here is what comes closest. --I used to "collect" compact discs, but I don't really consider it a legit "collection". First of all, most people acquire as much music as is practical in some form, often CDs like me. Second, I wasn't really focused on anything rare or valuable. There is an exception to that, though: I did have one specialty, and that was Christian punk music, as well as obscure Christian music from other hard/alternative subgenres. --I used to collect books by Albert Payson Terhune, but again, not for the value. This means that I didn't care what edition, what condition, or what condition they ended up in after I was done with them (lol). The most I paid for one was about $90-$100, but that wasn't for an old book; it was for a limited-edition collection of stories.

  3. Tremors as it roars through the gift shop.
  4. I've thought about this a lot. Here are some thoughts I've come up with. Not saying they haven't been covered already in this thread. I fully support legalizing marijuana. However, I've always had some concerns. --First, there are many risks to using marijuana. Just because some risks portrayed by the media are exaggerated or untrue doesn't mean weed is 100% safe. I get really tired of people who seem to be rebelling against the media's message by spreading lies in the opposite direction (unrealistically downplaying or denying risks). --It would be dangerous for people in some jobs to be under the influence of marijuana. How are we going to handle this? Are we going to have testing for current intoxication? What would the consequences be if you test positive? How would we handle the fear of lawsuits for false positives or discrimination? Or are we going to assume that marijuana usage will follow the same levels and patterns as it previously did, so this will be considered a non-issue? --Would legalization actually hinder pro-recreational use folks by resulting in more drug testing? I could see companies testing more frequently and/or ordering random tests more often. So users would experience the same paranoia and fear as always, but as a result of employers rather than the law. This could be even more of a concern in some cases, because people might be able to easily avoid the police, but not their workplace policies. --How will legal growing be handled? If the certified growers aren't growing ALL types and qualities, people will definitely be buying their preferred type on the black market. I mean, will the government restrict THC levels or only permit growing of a few 'standard' types of weed? I know that people are VERY particular about variety. --The dangerous black market growers and distributors aren't going to disappear. There will still be some market for their product (underage kids, people who for some reason can't get weed in the legal fashion). And to cope with the losses that do happen, do we have an idea of where they'll turn? Harder, more harmful drugs? Weapons? Some of these people are probably already criminals, meaning they might be limited to only illegal work since they can't find 'normal' jobs. --A lot of people think it is safe to drive while high. I completely disagree. If the govt. is expecting a sharp increase in marijuana usage after legalization, they better be rolling out ad campaigns about things NOT to do while you're high. I don't want people getting reckless. --Other than safety and responsibility, my main concern is this: whoever the govt. is certifying to grow marijuana had better be able to compete skillfully with the black market, and match or exceed their offerings on every reasonable variable. Otherwise, you're not going to reduce crime by very much and you're not going to raise that much tax money.
  5. Why must we assume that if I'm looking for a book, it must be an erotic book?
  6. I love the colors in Option 2. However, I'm curious how it would look with the green slide in the middle. To me it seems that the purple & the blue are too similar to each other compared to the brightness of the green, and it would therefore look more balanced with the green in the middle. Then again, it might look totally different in person to the point where which slide is which color doesn't matter.
  7. Discovered: I was looking up information on all the rides I rode at Disneyland and DCA, and I found a thread about how Tower of Terror possibly works. Joined: I wanted to ask a question about Silverwood, but then decided not to. Began posting: A trip questionnaire was posted and I originally thought about giving feedback in the forums. I didn't after all, but I felt it was the right time to join the community at that point. This all occured in 2009.
  8. Personally I would love to draw El Toro's first drop. So photogenic. But I guess a steelie would be easier?
  9. I don't understand why you can't have a single key on a keychain. I do. My mom made me use it so the key would be easier to keep track of. Rant: I hate keyrings because they hurt my fingers. Why can't they just become obsolete? I mean, we have clasps and all that.
  10. Facebook. Just say "TPR".
  11. More to add... Obsessing over carnivals. --Recognized as a top-5 contributor of flat rides on CoasterCounter.com. I even add rides I haven't ridden (as long as I know they really exist). --Before I decide to go to a carnival, I always look up the ride list and try to find out what the rides actually are. If I can't, I at least determine the carnival company and get a ride list from another show they've done or their site. I'll even email people to find out, or resort to searching for photos of past years' events. Since I'm so knowledgeable, I can choose to go only to carnivals that have credits and/or "spectaculars". I've been to some carnival sites so many times I feel almost stalker-like! --Was tempted to apply for jobs as carnival set-up/teardown. Because. It's. A. Carnival. That is completely crazy! SO not appropriate for me. Oh yeah, and... --Wrote basically a "definition essay"/"guidebook" for, of all things...credits. About 6 pages. WTF??? I think I was thinking that if someone questioned my counting methods, I could whip it out and be all like, "I actually put a lot of thought into this, b----!" Part of it was rantings about things like "It's okay to take counting seriously, to credit whore, to be liberal with your count", etc., and the rest was basically everything that anyone has ever tried to count as an individual credit, and whether I personally would count it, and my reasoning. I really can hardly believe I did this.
  12. We Don't Die -- Twiztid

March: SFMM April: PNE Playland May: Silverwood June: SFFT, SWSA August: Midwest No month planned: Lagoon, Lakeside, Elitch Definitely 100% unconfirmed, more like fantasies, but if I write them down maybe they'll become more like "goals" and I'll be more likely to achieve them!

  16. Magic Magic Ninjas What!!!
  17. I'm always glad to see a coaster saved, although I still wish I could've gotten the credit in California. Oh well, it's not like I'm exactly deficient in Northern California whored credits.
  18. 1952 and 16/25. I want to go there so bad!
  19. This is my goal: PNE Playland, maybe on my birthday and the next day. If I'm desperate for a coaster or some flats, Oaks Amusement Park or a carnival. If I get really lucky though, I would love to go to Magic Mountain or Silverwood. I'll be looking into attending WCB, but I'm not sure how that'll go considering work, money, and logistics.
  20. Down With The Clown -- Insane Clown Posse
  21. November -- Tom Waits Sooooooo0ooo timely.
  22. Pandora's Music Box -- Nox Arcana Because listening to haunted carnival music at midnight is always a good idea. Wait, no it isn't.
  23. I know this is the "random" forum, but I have to recommend the CoasterCounter app for the iPhone. It's perfect for obsessive credit whores like me.
