Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
Gnome replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They'll probably build a rocket coaster in its place. Well, it would make sense if they did that so that way people don't feel like they're loosing something, CF has a new ride to market, and it won't have the mechancal nightmares of HS - XLC...... unless they go for an uber tall rocket. (THough I find it unlikely) -
Batman and Tatsu. Batman is pretty fierce, its just not quite long enough, but overall miles above the mediorcre Silver Bullet located only an hour and 15 minutes away. Tatsu is the best flying coaster if there ever was one. NOt that I've been on any other flying coasters, but surely its greatness is not matched by others.

Magic Mountain Parkway to Change Name!!!!

I just love it when they have random DUI Checkpoints in midday miles away from the nearest bar. Those are the best, imo. -
TPR Members Ages 12 to 17...READ THIS NOW!!!!
Gnome replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh, I agree! And I do commend our users for that! It was just that in the past couple of weeks (especially with RCPro closing) we saw a lot of younger readers and we've had to edit or delete a LOT more posts.... Ehh, some of the other sites I visit have been plagued with this problem lately. It's always nice to come to a site like TPR where most people actually talk about roller coasters instead of posting useless information in the off topic section. -
that's a shame. People were celebrating celebrating S:TE's demise, and I find it sad that they have to get rid of freefall. Woe is us!

Six Flags Conference Call 12/12
Gnome replied to RagingBullFan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
SHapiro is still completely missing what seperates Disney from Six Flags. I feel like kicking him in the knee. -
I would have all those removed as well except for X and Revolution. Keep Revvy simply because it is a classic, and it would be a good classic, imo, if it wasn't trimmed and they would remove those darn OTSR. As for X, I personally enjoy it, though I would probably have it run on a set schedule, for example it would only run from April - October. Which would then give it 5 months in maintnance. Other rides I would consider getting rid of would be the log flumes, Vertigo, maybe Ninja...., Scream would probably be relocated to Viper since I wouldn't even second guess the attractions removal. While it does get lines, I feel its mainly from riders who are unaware of the type of ride it is or people who have nothing better to do. ALong with that I would probably remove much of SFMM's flat rides and Bugs Bunny world and pretty much reformat the whole park. Yea, I could definately see this place being a pretty good park if it was shut down for a year or 2, rides were removed, better ones were added, and staffing is at the level it should be. And as for Superman, it really isn't that great of a ride. It's very low capacity, the operators are slow, the ride doesn't even go 100 mph anymore as far as I can tell, and even if it does go that fast, it doesn't feel like it compared to other rides such as Xcelerator or even Montezooma's revenge.

What exact world is this? Not this one! Because this world has many looping coasters! I think he accidently left out the word "wooden" in there. -

Mr. Freeze to turn RED!
Gnome replied to adc9787's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yea, I don't think Red really fits the whole thing of Mr. Freeze. Looks more like a superman or spiderman ride -
PhotoTR : Davey's California Adventure

Hurray for the wendy's across the street! I think I eat there almost every time we go do SFMM. Also, very nice pictures, I liked how you pretty much showed a little bit of everything of what SoCal has to offer, as well as showing almost all of what LV has to offer as far as thrills go. -
Digimation models
Gnome replied to christianscoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
they're more like time savers for people who want a model, but don't have the time to build them, so they'll buy which ever specified models they need which suit the needs for the current project thier working on, then organize them into w/e fashion they choose. Or at least that's the only reason why I would ever buy one of those things. -
New coaster for Kyongju World
Gnome replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ I, too, concur -
Robb makes me feel this way too. I'm confused, do you mean that you also find Robb attractive, or do you mean that when Robb is around, you yourself feel fat, hairy, & alluring? How could you not find Robb attractive? The man's adorable, like bunny rabbit.

The closest coaster to me is boomerang at KBF, followed by Xcelerator, THen Silver Bullet, jaguar, then montezooma's revenge, followed by the soon to be Sierra Twist, and finally Timberland Twister. All a wopping 4 miles from my house which makes it a great distance (and a great park) for when I have the sudden urge to ride some coasters.

I was curious if you buy a license to use the songs that you have featured on your DVD, and if that's the case how do you go about getting it cleared. If that is not the case, though, is there anything you do to protect yourself from the likes of the RIAA?

It is crowded, but its bearable. I went last year for New Years Eve and the experience was totally worth it, even if it was running the whole day and our clothing was soaked. I believe the park was sold out, so once your in the park, I would reccommend staying in the park.

I think DCA's best bet would be scrapping entire areas and creating something fresh and new. But what they really should do for the park is concentrate on the rarely seen aspects of California, like Catalina for example. I personally would propose a Catalina conversion of the Route 66 portion of Paradise Pier. It fits in perfectly with the beach theme, it could potentially be the best looking part of the park, and its a part of California that a lot of Californians haven't ever been to, or really explored.

sounds lame imo, but I guess if they could do it right it wouldn't be so bad. Though I would expect a new replacement 2nd gate ASAP.
