Something new about Disneyland

Wes - the voice of reason? -
clearly they're mutants who are trying to distribute thier mutations through the world wide web aka xbox live.

Its not really, but what is similar is the fact that its another shooter ride based off of toy story. Personally, i think it would have been far better had it been Disney's Midway Mania and used the likes of Goofy, Mickey, Donald, ect and various other characters within the game. It wouldn't have been Pixar, it would be the first actual "ride" type attraction that would include those characters, not to mention that those characters are probably more of a draw to the resort then what Toy Story is, but w/e, its Disney's park, if they think Pixar related attractions are the best way to go, then it must be the best way to go, right?

Well I think Shapiro's attitude towards the race is dead on, imo, who cares? The park experience should have a focus on quality as appose to the quantity. What good is 17 roller coasters if half of them are broken or suck anyways? This means that they don't have to staff the park with so many people, nor do they have to waste any fraction of the maintnance budget on the attraction.

Its the park concept that could end up in Singapore. Also, don't expect a 3rd gate in CA any time soon, at least not until DCA is considered a worthy counter part to the resort. From there, they'll probably have to go through another decade or more of negotiations to get the land they would need for a third park if they decide to go that route. Alternatively they could just plop that waterpark on the strawberry field which I think they scrapped do to the failure of DCA.

Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage @ DLR Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor at WDW Crush's Coaster (if it hasn't already been mentioned) Cars Quatre Roues Rallye (a cars themed version of the ever popular "Dumbo" attraction) The Seas with Nemo & Friends at WDW (While though it did open in 2006, but its meant mainly to entice people to the park during the 2007 addition)

^ DCA is getting a "Cars" themed thrill ride But dammit, I want something on the scale of awsomeness that Journey to the Center of the earth. That's thinking out of the box, imo, because it's not just another "car" themed attraction like its cousin is at Epcot, but instead they used the technology that they had developed to tell a completely different story, and it brings you to a place that you would never find in the real world, which, imo, is why its probably one of the Imagineers best work.

That's so funny. When we were there in October, my girlfriend saw a pair of cats over by the Jurassic Park Falls place and proceeded to take like eight billion pictures of them (she loves cats...its so frightening). I was wondering if they were just house cats that had wandered into the park or something. Guess it's an epidemic! Maybe that's what they serve at that restaurant. Disneyland uses them to keep the rodent population down, and I'd imagine the same goes with USF -
^^ Nemo is nothing like The little mermaid, but for the record, in case you guys were wondering, The little mermaid was suppose to go where Roger Rabbit's Cartoon spin sits at now, back when Disney had some other plans for that area before they decided on Toon Town. But I, like many other people, do feel that Disney needs to do something different besides pixar. Why? Mainly because it really takes a large chunk of the originality in thier story when they completely rip an idea from a movie and put it into an attraction. Even rides like Star Tours or Indiana Jones don't completely rip off the movie, they have thier own unique story lines which tie in key moments from the movie into the attraction. (IE the boulder in Indiana Jones, and the Death Star in Star Tours) But Disney doesn't really do that any more (save Toy Story Mania, but they already made a Toy Story shooter ride at Disneyland, and I don't see what the problem would have been just to have made it "Midway Mania" or "Disney's Midway Mania" which could have incorporated all sorts of disney characters into the attraction.)

Highly possible. From my understanding Mania is the first of several stages in the DCA re-habilitation plan. Also I heard rumors of a cars themed ride coming to DCA and utilizing the test track technology. Its also possible that the night time show will go into DCA's lake as Midway Madness construction will be bringing a lot more to the area then just a new ride, or at least thats what things seem to be pointing to. Also, I heard something about Hong Kong getting a PotC based off of the movie, so that could include a whole new pirate themed land as well, though i'm not sure how receptive the Chinese are to the "pirate fad"

After watching the video my guess is that when the back wall goes black, the idol then blends in with the wall so you can't see it, and then it "disappears" into that stand thing it sits on, then they flash the light on it, and everyone is like OMGz! They used that basic idea of the object masking into the background for one of the shows at USH's HHN where they had this dorky little thing, a black sheet, and ghosts, anyways, they had a bunch of people in black suits running around in front of the sheet, and for the most part you couldn't even tell that there were people there unless the light hit them a certain way. After watching the video, I'm almost positive the same idea has been applied to the "Dissappearing Monkey Idol" And Disney would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those meddling Geeks on the Internet!

Intamin is Intamin Rides, you silly goose! But really, I think Intamin is mainly only responsible for the steel track design/engineering (IE the tri track, 2 rail, quad, ect), the technology as well as the other parts used on the ride, and the cars. Where as the actual track itself, I believe in this case, was in actually designed by WDI. Or at least I was lead to believe this based off of discovery channel show I watched about the Imageers and one of the things they showed was a guy "designing" CAS

Its a thermal-mirror, which shuts off to reveal the dummy vehicle behind it. For the part where everyone turns into ghosts, I believe its some sort of real-time infrared sensor they have, or at least I remember it being something similar.

Theme Park Review's 2007 Group Trips!
Gnome replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Is it possible I can get my name on the waiting list, and if anyone drops out when the may payment comes around, I can pay in full then? Reason being is there is no way I would be able to make the february payment of the 1 grand, plus that $200 deposit, but I may be able to make the May payment deadline with the full cost of the trip. -
Female themed coasters

And to Sea World the kraken is a giant sea serpant, and after watching PotC I found out I was lied to! So maybe they're lieing about that ride's sex as well.
