  1. I echo People Mover Matt's sentiments. The past was great in it's day, but seriously Knott's has stepped up its game so much the past couple years, the charm of the place is really starting to come back. It'd be cool to spend my teen years at knotts with the direction the park is headed in currently.
  2. I looked at your age and lol'd. It needed to go. The Roaring 20's has been dead since they ripped out the soap box racers. This will make theme and show more consistant (hopefully)
  3. I always feel like that pop is only there in the front seat. I never seem to really feel it so much in the last row. Its been 2 years but I some how doubt that Riddler has deteriorated into an unridable attraction. Try riding King Kobra at KD and then come back and talk about rough standups
  4. People took that literally? There were others on the Knotts FB page that were saying the ride will be built under the boardwalk, because its an "under water" ride. People are just stupid! If you're looking for GP quotes to add to the "Things GP say" thread, park FB & Youtube pages are the place to go.
  5. Trust me, it is MUCH CHEAPER for your average family in SoCal to take everyone to knotts. Dark rides are great because they fill in that gap of attractions both older and younger guests will want to ride. Knott's doesn't need to compete with Disney. They just need to be the cheaper more accessible themepark, but cheap doesn't have to mean lower in quality! I honestly think this attraction helps add some depth to the overall Knott's experience. I personally would even welcome another more traditional dark ride built some where in the park.
  6. So Ghost Rider isnt getting topper track this year? Jk. That would have been awesome in conjunction with this, but it should be cool!
  7. It worked out fine until casino's realized families didnt bring as much money to the resorts as wealthy individuals do. Also, I literally just read an article today that ranked Acapulco to be more dangerous then Kabul, Afghanistan or Baghdad, Iraq.
  8. They've consistently sent out email blasts with major grammatical errors... pour oversight by Six Flags, and to be honest, indicative of all the nuances in how there parks are operated. SIGH yes that was on purpose That was?
  9. Go to bars, eat delicious food, concerts, snowboad, school and work? The off-season won't be long.
  10. While the mega-lites are great, I cant help but appreciate what RMC is dropping into parks. If they built more rides like Cyclone, medusa, NTAG, those could arguably be better then Intamin's stock hyper-lite model. Perhaps some one who's been on some RMC's and hyper-lites could provide some insight?
  11. From a park operations stand point, I'd say B&M is the golden ticket winner. They're fun, reliable, easy to operate, capacity is great, and they could arguably be a bigger hit with the general public. From a coaster enthusiast stand point, it's SOOO hard to argue against Intamin, especially after riding a ride like i305. Nothing else comes close to it that's not another Intamin designed ride.
  12. True that! I can't believe how massive the GCI wooden coasters China is getting are. Wood Coaster seriously looks like a fantasy ride out of NoLimits, except its real. Then you got this coming next year They keep coming!
  13. I can see them removing it and sending it off to Mexico
  14. ^ if they end up building an RMC woody, I'd try and go on the first friday of Scarywood. There were no crowds. The mazes were good. But more importantly you can get A LOTTTTTT of NIGHT RIDES in on Timber Terror, Tremors, and presumably the new ride. Aftershock doesn't operate unless its above 70 degrees so I wouldn't expect that to be open.
  15. From the sounds of it, they could finally be doing away with the last leftovers of the Roaring 20's and finally completing and shaping the boardwalk into a complete and more coherently themed area. Still, I feel they could do a bit more to try and integrate Xcelerator more into a 1950's boardwalk theme instead of just a 1950's theme. I hope Knott's management continues to improve and upgrade their their themed areas.
  16. If your signature is correct in that you have been on Leviathan, then the pretzel loop will be nothing. I wouldn't even say it's scary to begin with, but a 300 foot drop is much more scary than anything on Tatsu. Not necessarily. That pretzle loop is pretty thrilling. Its one of those elements that consistantly catches me every time.
  17. Dumb but the actress should have known better. One thing to generally call out "sluts and whores" its another to address individuals specifically as sluts and whores, especially in this day and age with the current wave of feminism that will jump on every oppurtunity like this where "society" demeans women.
  18. I've always thought Dorney as whole looked like a great park. While they don't have any particularly stand out rides from a global top 10 perspective, I think the overall offerings are very well rounded and provides a good variety. If Dorney was my home park, I wouldn't complain one bit.
  19. You're talking about people who anthropomorphize chickens and think its their right to go into restaurants to tell people they're all murderers.
  20. Seems like a good direction, though Im surprised this hadnt already been decided long ago. Wonder what the lead time is to manufacture and build those custom trains would be.
  21. OMG THIS RIDE DEFIES THE LAWS OF RCT!!!! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!!! Personally, Im more concerned with how sfmm plans to "precisely" roll trains out consistently every 110 seconds. Thats less then 2 minutes!!! Dont see SFMM keeping up the pace beyond its initial peak season, but I'd love to be wrong.
  22. Tentatively planning Mexico for next spring and Florida for a week this time next year as I'll finally be done with school and able to get the time off. If all goes well, possibly a trip to Carowinds/SFOG/Dollywood.
