  1. The zombie ops sounds a lot like this http://www.13thfloorsanantonio.com/apocalypse/ It should be a unique experience and we'll worth checking out
  2. I think they made a mistake keeping the Walking Dead as the headlining property for the event this year. The popularity of the show has died off significantly from last year. I know a lot of people who used to watch the show religiously who just don't care any more. BUT the maze was one of the best mazes from last year so it still has the potential to shine. I think they dropped the ball with the Purge as a liscened property. Its ripe for something a bit bigger then just a scarezone.
  3. I don't really care what the property is as long as its good! Having said that, though, I think a maze focused solely on the Alien franchise could have been.... a-MAZE-ing?
  4. It's barely a coaster! The coaster aspect is very secondary to the overall experience. It's more of a means as a viable ride system than it is the focus of the ride.
  5. There's war in the middle east, planes are getting shot down, and now B&M has done what everyone said they wouldn't ever do: build another launched coaster. I'm going to church, the apocalypse is pending.
  6. Maybe this is a good opportunity to xeriscape half the mountain. SFMM could run a PR as a way of making park operations more sustainable especially for California when they're experiencing drought conditions.
  7. There's more to it than simply attendance numbers. You also have to consider the demographics that are attending. Certain groups tend to spend more inside the park then others. If KBF is looking to boost their coffers, they would want to target and attract those kinds of people in order to increase the park's revenue.
  8. Goliath also goes a hell of a lot faster too.... so..... 30 second ride vs more complete ride experience. I've been on the 30 second balls to the wall ride before, and they are plenty of fun at first, but the adrenaline quickly fades as you get used to it and know what to expect. I'll take the smaller Medusa. The expereince will remain consistent as long as its maintained. Also, One thing I find humorous is the general GPness of TPR's youtube page. It really is a whole different world. I read one comment that said "They ripped off Goliath!" SMDH NO!
  9. Any one see the new Purge movie? Could be a great idea for the terror tram. Would be cool if they could use some of the city facades for parts of the tour
  10. If this ride was really a ninja, it would have karate chopped itself through the tree and to safety. I smell a false advertising suit
  11. Outlaw Run still beats it out in just about every area in my books. In no one way is that saying Goliath is a bad ride (it's my 3rd favorite coaster I've ridden), it's just that Outlaw Run is that good. I do like the first drop of Goliath a tad more than OR's and the Zero-G stall is very strange but fantastic. I sort of got off your question, or maybe I was never on it... back to the airtime question. Goliath's airtime hill didn't seem to last that much longer than some of Outlaw Run's pops of air throughout the course. Maybe just a second longer. I really only got airtime on the first drop, exiting the first overbank turn, and the airtime hill. Still an incredible ride, but I prefer OR slightly more because it has a more out of control feeling. That was my analysis after looking at the POV. the few elements Goliath does have look outstanding! But as far as a complete experience it appears lacking. I think once the initial shock of the extremeness goes away people will be less satisfied compared to the other RMC offerings.
  12. In terms of timelines, parks know that Harry Potter is coming in 2016 and you can be damn sure its on everybody's watch list. Personally, I'd say it makes more sense for continued park improvements and a new dark ride for 2015, with a big coaster addition for 2016 to attract interest of any tourists visiting the west coast for HP as well as the interest of the local population. I wouldnt complain though if we got a new huge addition in 2015, though
  13. Yeah, I think they wait till after in order to not detract from the haunt promotion which makes sense. With windseeker gone, what is the likelihood we could see fiesta village refreshed in the next year or 2? Its really changing my entire perspective on the place for the better
  14. Ghost rider would be a good candidate for topper track. I know it worked wonders with Tremors which many people said was terrible prior to RMC coming in. It would be a damn shame if RMC iron horsed the thing, especially with Collosus most likely getting the treatment. Mean streak, which I've always considered a cousin to Texas Giant would clearly be a great candidate for the iron horse treatment. I dont know what else CF is waiting for, they need to get on this trend meow!
  15. I'm really surprised kennywood hasn't done more to address the issues with thunderbolt. It seems kind of discreminatory towards single riders or groups with odd numbers. A single rider line would be an ideal and easy fix that would solve all those issues. Anyone know why that hasn't been worked in? Great Report Condor! Sad I couldnt make it especially after seeing your, shall we say... Theme park reviews, but I look forward to the trip in September!
  16. ^ lol. Well now that Collosus news has hit the national news circuit (saw it on the front page of yahoo) I see more GP-ish coaster lovers signing the petition. Little do they know the possibilities that await them
  17. For some reason that is still unknown to us, they have decided to start posting disparaging and rude comments about TPR on other sites, and they were banned. It's a real shame as they posted some very good update for us and TPR gave them access to events at the park they normally would not have been invited to. It's unfortunately another reason why it becomes more difficult for us to trust people that we do not know personally. If anyone else reading this thread would like to start posting more regular updates, we would welcome it. Thanks. --Robb Hmmmm.... ?
  18. Anybody else just jazzed by the potential for a serious airtime machine to finally make it out to the west coast? I'm holding my reservations until I see the design and ride it, but the implications of this project based on the rumors suggest only greatness. If it pans out, I will be willing to forgive "missteps" in the park's recent attraction additions.... so long as they operate it efficiently.
  19. How about just simply "Tallest. longest, & Fastest racing hybrid coaster?" Seems like that would be a perfect marking statement for them! --Robb "Seems like it would be easy to beat Gemini" Alvey As a marketing major, i absolutely find such tag lines and gimmicks to be lazy, especially in a world where the top brands are marketed based on their value, obviously MM still seems to think records are what brings booties into their parks. At the end of the day, though, everyone and their mom knows collosus. It doesnt have to break any records, it just has to be fucking good. The PR machine will do most of the work for SFMM
  20. I approve the continued addition of grass. Also, a good look into what's going into Knott's mine train. http://micechat.com/68678-preview-calico-mine-ride/
  21. Yeah, well they said Texas Giant was safe to ride and look what happened! (joking) I laughed! Then I felt ashamed of myself and took a shower.
  22. The difference is Peta targets the youth to carry their message. As long as they can influence the young and impressionable and convince the masses that its liberal and progressive thought, they will continue to be a loud and visible part of the population.
  23. What if the park put up a "Did you know?" style sign that explained the sway of the structure to ease the minds of GP?
