  1. My brother was just in Grand Rapids for a hockey tournament. He kept texting me and asking about Rougarou and wondered how close CP was to him. Told him it was a bit aways but MA wasn't too far. He didn't even know what that was.
  2. It was either Canyon Blaster or Demon at PGA. Can't remember specifically. All I know is that Canyon Blaster and Lochness Monster are probably the only 2 Arrow loopers I actually enjoy. The other loopers/corkscrew rides aren't necessarily terrible rides, but they're not particularly thrilling either
  3. What other coasters are you comparing this to? Either way great to hear
  4. On another note, even without "dueling" it's still a great ride. But the dueling component is a HUGE aspect of the ride experience, and if its not something SFMM is going to commit to getting down, it will be disappointing. Otherwise it would have been more beneficial if they had simply forgone a second lift and just made Twisted Colossus as a single lift experience more in line with what we've seen them do with their other rides like NTAG or WC It's still new so I'm hoping everything is sorted out and it will duel at least 90% of the time. *fingers crossed*
  5. I think people would get it once the Blue side came around and the lift started going again. Especially if it did it frequently, people would understand. Just because they're GP doesn't mean they can't figure out simple things like that. (at least most people with a some ability of cognitive thinking). I think the issue, though, is still having riders sitting on a lift hill for an indefinite amount of time.
  6. ^ they gutted the Dante'sPeak/Mummy tunnel and turned it into Fast and Furious.
  7. Woah. Many people are proclaiming it their new favorite and happy it replaced What Colossus was
  8. ^ of all things, I think the capacity issues strike me as "what were you thinking?" Will be interesting to see how and if it ever is fixed
  9. Fortunately, a lot of these issues can be tweaked. Kbf can eventually mold some rock formation to hide the projectors. They can redo scenes or add a voice over in the beginning to help set the story. Honestly, I thought that holding room in the beginning would have been WAAAAY cool if they had an animatronic of the old man talking to you. In general, though, I think we can expect the technical issues to eventually get worked out. the other 2 issues highlighted are fixable without the need for Knotts to spend too much as the main bulk of the infrastructure is already there, but who knows if it will ever actually be addressed. The biggest issue from what I've been reading that can't really be fixed is capacity. This seems like an attraction families would consider reriding multiple times though maybe not if the wait is always at least an hour long. And that is rather unfortunate. All things considered, I still wouldn't buy a knotts pass to reride this a billion times but I'll probably make sure I ride it at least once, along with mine ride and log ride, with every visit I make to knotts and spend the rest of the time between Xcelerator, Silverbullet, and GR. Lastly, are the cars motion simulated? I thought they were but I haven't really heard anything about it
  10. I have some friends who are at media day today. I was told "better than KD, but not Berry Tales," lol. Either way, its great to finally have something in the building again and the area is cleaned up a bit too.
  11. I am absolutely shocked TC is opening before the middle of july! Now please, RELEASE THE POV!
  12. I'm expecting more along the lines of best coaster in California... We will see soon! Try best coaster west of the Mississippi!
  13. Depends. Its however the park/production company decided to do it. The year i did it, it was an open invite to passholders I went with my brother. For the most part we rode together but we started getting shuffled around once people started dropping off
  14. I did the promo shoot for tatsu. I dont remember much but I think they catered us and I got in like 15 rides during the day. The crew was getting frustrated towards the end of the day because they wanted people to keep riding so they could get more shots but quite frankly most people were pooped. I as a 16 or 17 year old kid think I even had a bit of a headache after riding so many times in one day. Overall it was a great experience. Would do again
  15. The walls are down! Looks great! Knott's Network put up the following picture
  16. The key take away here is that you rode it 20 times. From most people, I've heard once was enough on Mantis. I never got a chance to ride Mantis, but I'm making my first trip to the point this summer and I'm very anxious to get on the new and improved Rougarou.
  17. Nice! Great opportunity for any of you who can make it! Really hope to hear good things about it
  18. Holding on to a property just to keep your competitor from having it isnt necessarily an effective strategy when there is a cost associated with it (beyond apparent monetary costs). Again, the marvel heroes that uni currently have represent what they looked like at the end of the 90's compared to what they have evolved to today. At some point it would make sense to cut their loss, let disney have the theme park rights to the property, and then Uni can revamp and redevelop that real estate in a way that will drive attendance to the park and keep islands of adventure relevant
  19. Whats the likelihood this replaces Marvel island? Its essentially become stagnated and it represents an old marvel from decades ago rather then the new and current generation of Marvel. Some one else mentioned converting the hulk into a bowser coaster. I just imagine them turning the tunnel into one of those Mario pipes
  20. What will we talk about once knotts does something with GR and gets a hyper/giga
  21. I know Im being a squeeky wheel on this issue, but I still think the park would be better served with giving GR an extensive upgrade as well as a refresh for fiesta village which would include a few thrill rides and perhaps a reshuffling of their other current rides in the area. Giga/hyper/major coaster would be great for 2017
  22. Getting on the topic of lockers, are there any centrally and conveniently located all day lockers? I'd like to bring my dslr and not have to trek to the front of the park or the car to get it every time i want to use it or put it away
  23. I agree. I think the pause in action on TC might work against it a bit but at the end of the day they're both rides that stand out far and above compared to everything else. Im wondering why a POV hasnt been released yet. Fury got a good amount of viral mainstream buzz off that pov and it wasnt even the best video that would eventually be released.
