Some stuff that really bugs me at the moment... 1. When it takes forever for YouTube videos to load on my crap computer. 2. When people refer to GCI as GCII. Is GCII even a company? If so, what does the second I stand for? 3. When YouTube videos become all choppy, forcing me to pause over and over again. 4. Internet Explorer - It's slow, crashes a lot, and just sucks in general. Luckily I have Firefox. [/rant]

Because people park on driveways and drive on parkways. If a daughter cell expresses an X-linked recessive gene, who did she inherit the expressed allele from? -
The Brochure/Map Trade Topic
netdvn replied to Reality15's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
1. Any place with a brochure rack may carry theme-park brochures (all kinds of hotels, state welcome centers, truck stops (depends), shopping malls (also depends), airports (also depends). As long as these locations are near theme parks, they will normally carry brochures with the exeption of state welcome centers which carry brochures for any and all theme parks in the state. 2. Ticket Stands - If you travel down any Interstate highway that leads to Florida, chances are you'll see ticket stands advertising discounts for Florida theme parks. These places will carry brochures for the major Florida theme parks. I'm not sure about maps though. 3. Trading - Just trade with other people with brochures. 4. Ask the park for brochures/maps. They'll be glad to send you one or more if you just ask. However they'll only send the brochures from the current season. They normally get rid of older brochures, unfortunately. -

Uh... Don't be a fool... I guess. Why do I use ellipses to much?.... -
^ I understand the first concept, but I'm confused over the second concept. For the second concept, do you mean a swinging ship that swings from side to side like a Giant Frisbee or one that swings parallel to the ground? And for the over the top swinging ship, do you mean something similar to a Kamikaze or Looping Starship??

TPR and Theme Park Artwork
netdvn replied to sfmmFREAK's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Dan's Theme Park Artwork Part 6 - Final Update The Timberlands Resort The Timberlands Resort is divided into many different lands... Entrance Plaza - Nothing really special. Just a bunch of gift shops. Timber Country - An area of forest that contains a large lumber mill and an old mine. Industrial Hills - Abandoned factories and old mines surround the landscape. Middle Harbor - Area themed to an old shipping harbor Mountain Pass - A trail deep within the mountains with roadside stands and villages along the way Lost Ruins - The ruins of an ancient civilization Western Civilizaiton - The Old West meets a modern day city Caldera Valley - A large lake situated in the middle of the park. River Revenge is an Arrow Hydroflume built in 1976 in order to compete with SFON's opening a year earlier. The coaster in the background is Loop of Faith. Plummet is the tallest ride in the park as well as the only Intamin Drop Tower in the state. All three Intamin coasters are located in Middle Harbor. This coaster is Blitzkreig, an Intamin Rocket Coaster. Chain Reaction is a Gerstlauer Spinning Coaster themed to an abandoned chemical factory. The Dive Machine in the background is Shaft. The Western Civilization area and the Urban Assault flat ride. The previous update had the Old West part. -
^Highlight the sentence you want to quote, copy/paste it into the text box, then highlight the sentence and press the "quote" button above the text box. It's between the "underline" and the "code" buttons. What about a pinball-style ride where you sit in a ride vehicle and are launched into a giant pinball machine complete with bumpers, flippers, and flashing lights. It may be a bit disorienting and the vehicles/machine would probably suffer some wear, not to mention capacity issues, but Zorb balls could help reduce the wear on the ride itself and how about allowing multiple Zorbs in at once to address capacity?

The supports on the lift and heartline look more B&M-ish, but it looks over-supported. Take out some of the fat supports and it will look better. -
Thank you for your comment. I plan on posting more drawings in the artwork thread later today. I'll change the description in my sig to let everyone know. In this economy, a massive Beast-length Intamin woodie probably won't be feasable, but it can't hurt to dream. Maybe he'll just have to wait for the economy to improve. As for recreating a past coaster, does a coaster like Riverview's Bobs or Rye's Aeroplane really need safety modifications? The coasters were already safe to begin with and they lasted long periods of time without much wear. As for smoothness, if Intamin designed the coaster, that wouldn't be much of an issue. Recreating a coaster like CBC would be much more difficult as the forces need to be modified to keep the ride safe. A new concept I've been considering is modifying an Intamin Wing-Rider to allow the seats to rotate like a Ball Coaster. That way, you have a launched 4-d coaster. As for flat rides, I've considered a Giant Frisbee-style flat where the frisbee is tilted 90 degrees, like a pendulum.

^ I'm afraid you might have to ask the original poster... I found this on TN and thought I might post it here... LINK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnAVH5du7P0 Are there any John Boy and Billy Big Show fans here? This is a funny skit that they made.

I think its more of a milestone thing. Kinda like how some people tend to celebrate their 100th coaster. I personally don't like... Posts in all caps since I can't really read it. People who post with multiple colors in a single post. People who have far too many spelling/grammar mistakes for a single post. And people who abuse emoticons when they don't need to be abused.

1. A two-mile long Intamin PnP Woodie with a large drop in the middle. 2. A PnP clone of any legendary wooden coaster (Riverview Bobs, Rye Aeroplane, CBC, Idora Park Wildcat, Mr. Twister) 3. A clone of the legendary Thriller coaster that used to operate on the German fair circuit (or any Schwarzkopf portable/permanent coaster) 4. A PnP clone of any large Gravity Group coaster. If you want to know more about the drawings shown below, click the link in my sig... The Z-Force pic is the only real coaster I have shown... EDIT: Any time I let my imagination run wild, I'll be sure to post it here. Insane Arrow Suspended coaster with tunnels.... Indy pic... POV of the high-speed portion. Indiana Jones and the Search for El Dorado I made the rest of these rides up myself. This ride...

I found this on TN and thought I might post it here... LINK This pretty much rules out any park with a sitdown or a floorless coaster. (Sorry KD) But it doesn't mean that KD can't get the hyper. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TthHltjrvA Here's a funny Family guy clip.

^ I made this in about three hours. It's not perfect, but it was the best I could do in a short amount of time. Now for some background info... The ride was inspired by HR3 and was originally gonna have a straight piece of launch track for the lift hill. Then the discussion about incorporating a heartline roll into the track arose and I began to imagine a heartline roll element and decided to incorporate it into the lift hill. This is just a concept though and I'll probably make changes in the future. Praise/contstructive criticism is greatly accepted. ...and if you want to see more, click the link in my sig. I plan on posting a new update later today. X-Car coaster with heartline roll lift.

Those overhead shots of the play structure rock. On top of that, seeing the inside of the bucket is really cool. I never knew the didn't really fill to the top and that it had to be controlled. -

Yaay I'm having fun 1. Every time a human population-threatening disease infects a number of people, the media is gonna blow it out of proportion (kinda like a roller coaster accident). It happened with West Nile, SARS, Bird Flu, and Mad Cow Disease. It has nothing to do with the government at all. 2. New York is the center of this pig flu pandemic right now and I think people are more worried about their health and safety than some random photoshoot. 3. Depends... The government and media have always been like this. 4. Yeah probably... Once demand surpasses supply, they're probably gonna jack the prices up.
