The Brochure/Map Trade Topic
netdvn replied to Reality15's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I still have a whole bunch of rare brochures up for grabs. I'm sending out a few PMs today and I might be heading up north Labor Day weekend and getting a few more brochures for anyone who's interested. PS: Does anybody here have a Facebook? I can accept offers over Facebook as well. Just drop me a message or a friend request and say you're from TPR. -
BGW: - The park maps have a schedule which tells you when the different countries open on the back. Use that to your advantage. - Hit the major rides/attractions early (coasters, DarKastle, water rides) early so you have the rest of the day to take everything in... - The coasters, DarKastle, and the water rides tend to be the most popular rides in the park. The Sky Ride and train are also popular, but don't worry too much about those. Be sure to hit BBW since it's only open until next weekend. - If you haven't seen any of the shows, I would suggest you hit all of them (preferably later in the day when its hot). - As for any "hidden gems", aside from the signature attractions/shows, nothing else really stands out IMO. - All the B&Ms have test seats and all of the major attractions should have single rider. - Crowds can seriously vary so I would suggest getting everything in ASAP and then spending the rest of the day doing rerides and taking in atmosphere. Go Karts Plus is just outside Williamsburg in Toano near the Pottery. It's a generic FEC with go karts, arcade, some flats, and a kiddie credit.

How would a 300 foot roller coaster look "boring"? A 300 foot coaster would look completely terrifying IMO. -

Where'd you find this information??? This might help narrow down the results. -
All I can say is wow! Your parks are very well done and it's pretty clear you've spent a lot of time and effort building them. The coaster layouts are extremely good and your building designs are top notch. The biggest issue I have with this park is that it might be a bit lacking in scenery, but it is a SF park so I'm not complaining too much.

I added a whole ton of songs within the past month so I have around 225 songs right now, 50 stored on my computer, and 5 songs that I need to transfer from my email.

^ Since when did B&M Hypers have OTSRs in the first place??? Compared to KD's Giga, I don't really care which one's better. It seems that the Giga is more speed-oriented while the Hyper is more airtime oriented. Overall, this looks like it could be the sickest B&M hyper to date. The second hill and crazy hammerhead turn looks absolutely amazing... -

^^ So far I've tried... - CW: HYPER - Carowinds: hyper - Carowinds: coaster - CW: B&M - CW: coaster Nothing seems to be working. I wonder if anyone will be able to crack the code before the announcement (unless the site isn't activated yet). -
Considering the fact that B&M has already made 10-across seating, that wouldn't be impossible. BTW, aren't the older DM's 7 across???

Is Petsmart Pet's Mart or Pet Smart? This has seriously been bugging me since I read it on MLIA a while ago.

Aside from Loch Ness, the water rides, and DarKastle, there aren't many other unique rides that BGW has compared to KD. You've got Grizzly, Rebel Yell, Drop Zone, and Crypt. KD has more rides in general so if you go to KD for rides, you should spend a whole day there. Both parks should have coupons both online and in fast food joints/supermarkest. Personally I would visit KD because BGW is my homepark and I've pretty much done it millions of times. However if you're more of a theming/atmosphere person I would suggest BGW. If you're a rides person, I would suggest KD. It completely depends on the crowds. You might be able to hit up both parks in a single day if you're only riding coasters. I would suggest following Robb's advice if you're willing to do that.

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
netdvn replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ If sending Panet Snoopy over to KD means that the fanboys would stop complaining, I'm all for it... CW is celebrating an anniversary next year anyway and Intimidator 305 would definitely be a great addition to the park... At least by next week everyone will be complaining about Carowinds getting a 205 foot hyper instead of a 250 foot hyper. The person is stating that the only major rides that have come to Colorado recently were a boomerang and an SLC compared to KD's B&M Floorless and Intamn Giga coaster. In fact everyone should be lucky they're getting a giga coaster especially (1) in this terrible economy and (2) after receiving a major coaster (although used) not too long ago while parks like CGA haven't recieived anything major since 1999. -
The detail and the design is top notch. Have you considered sending this to NE? Overall - TPR has tons of highly skilled RCT2&3 builders. You're clearly one of them. I can't wait to see your park expand as well as add some cool looking coasters/flat rides. You've obviously spend lots of time and effort into building this park. PS: Have a safe trip!

Is it too late to bring this classic quote back??? EDIT: In all honesty, I think the coaster looks great! - Sure the ride has OTSRs, but we're just gonna have to learn to live with it. - Yeah the ride isn't located in the properly themed area, but since when did CF truly care about theming anyway? - I love the minimal supports... - Yeah the ride doesn't look like an airtime machine, but if the trains manage to take those bunny hops at a high speed, I definitely see some good airtime. I'm just glad my second homepark is getting a giga coaster. -
Facebook is literally like crack. I've spent almost two weeks adding friends, posting updates, looking for groups, and adding apps and I can't stop. HELP ME!!!

Dippin Dots guy tells me that the new for 2015 ride will be a 300 foot tall, inverted prototype wooden Aquatrax with Maverick's heartline roll on the lift hill. At the top riders pass through a flaming ring's filled with lockers and lasers. Then the ride drops into a gigantic concrete trash can and does 20000 loops on the moon. The ride will be snake and horse themed and feature a world famous condiment splashdown... -
I'm trying to find friends on Facebook and I type in the name of the high school I went to and search through the pages. The results??? I get people from Pennsylvania, senior citizens, 40 year old men and women, people from Missouri, New York, Arizona, etc. None of those people look like any teachers or staff I recognize. Barely any students are listed. - Creepy

THRILL POINT LA [RCT2]
netdvn replied to BelgianGuy's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^^ Whoops. I'll definately fix that right away. As for the rapids, incredible work so far. I love the attention to detail. The fire on the buildings provides a nice touch. However, I'm not sure about the lava river though. Although it looks great, I feel that a lava river would suit a more tropical-style ride or perhaps a large volcanic mountain (unless of course the dragon lives inside the volcano). Other than that, I would love to see a larger overview of the rapids and the rest of the park to see your progress. -
Mark's Postcard Paradise
netdvn replied to thrillerman1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have a couple of old postcards that I've been too lazy to scan. When I can get to it, I'll definitely post them here, but here's a picture of them for now. All of these postcards are from the mid to late 90s and both the Sea World and USF postcards belong to my sister. The Centre Island one could be rare. -
Some coasters I made...
netdvn replied to KnottsDisneyFarm's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Where should I begin... First Park... - Some of the coasters like Cliff Diver, Xtreme Dive Machine, and Deep Purple look excellent, but I kinda feel Brown Recluse is unnecessary. - On the Vine and the Intamin hyper with the interesting name, I feel that the coasters are a bit too high off the ground. The coasters would look a TON if they followed the terrain. You probably can't fix that though. - Looking at the first park in your other thread, it seemed that you added a ton of coasters and not many other rides. I would love to see the rest of that park before I judge on that. - The park could use a bit more scenery. Perhaps a couple buildings around the queues and more color (flowers and plants). Overall on your first park... - I love your coaster designs and would love to see more. Work on the scenery around the park (like the area around the waterslide) and if you're able to, try to work some terrain around the Intamin hyper and Vine. The First Resort - WOW! Truthfully I really think this park is better than your first one. The rides, scenery, everything looks great. - I feel that the chairlifts on the mountain are a bit too high. Try to lower them a bit. - Some of the coasters in your first park would definitely fit this park well. I would love to see more progress, including some huge coasters. - EDIT: I think you should add more scenery/buildings around some of the queues. Try to have some of the ride entrances/exits blend in with a theme or cover them up with buildings (kinda like what you did with the castle themed ride). Random suggestion: I feel that your terrain/close-to-the-ground coasters look better than the coasters that are raised really high off the ground. Try building coasters that hug the terrain or have their elements closer to the ground. Try not to build too tall (unless you're building a hyper or giga). Overall, you're very skilled at RCT2 and I would love to see more in later updates. -

^ Canada's Wonderland is CW. Carowinds doesn't really have an abbreviation although you could use Cw (or C) to distinguish itself from Canada's Wonderland. I normally use CW for Canada's Wonderland and just spell out Carowinds. -

I guesed Disneyland on page 96 and you said it was incorrect... It doesn't really matter though. I recall this thread had its own moderator to fix the random picture posting issue, but he hasn't been here for a while.
