  1. Link please? I'd love to see close ups in your next update!
  2. You didn't read his last HHE update did you?
  3. You can't go wrong with YouTube chain letters.
  4. OK, let me jump in here and comment on your park. Superman doesn’t look bad. It’s definitely a unique-looking coaster. I feel you should make the first drop a little steeper since most first drops look better that way. Aside from that it looks pretty good. I agree with everyone on the buildings though. Look at pictures of actual buildings at SF parks and get a feel for what they look like. It doesn’t have to look perfect, but try to come as close as you can. I don’t think the Schwarzkopf really suits that section of the park. I kinda feel you should take it out and replace it with something else or move the ride somewhere else. That’s just me though. Lastly, both themeparkman25 and Belgian Guy are right. While the park needs work, it’s your park and you can do whatever you want with it. Don’t let criticism (constructive or not) get to your head.
  5. That's why you drag the seeker to the very end to see what happens. Anyway this thread just got awesome with references to Sam Cassell.
  6. Funny because I’ve always seen stuff like this on Facebook (at least ever since I joined a few months ago). It’s the nature of the Internet in general. Get millions of people to form stupid fan pages, give them camera phones so they can embarrass themselves, and give people anonymous avatars so they can write whatever they want wherever they want, whenever they want, and you get stuff like the fan page above. Heck! Stuff like this happens on TPR all the time.
  7. Let's put this into consideration... 1. Families make up a large portion of the people who visit theme parks. While teens and enthusiasts visit in large numbers, teens don't spend much on merchandise/games and enthusiasts make up a very small portion of the park-visiting population. 2. Look at the success of the family theme park... - Dollywood - Silver Dollar City - all the Disney parks - all the Busch/Sea World parks They have huge roller coasters and family/kids attractions and they're hugely successful compared to the SF/CF parks which spent a good deal of time building record breaking B&Ms, Intamins, and prototype coasters. 3. By buildingb rides like Buccaneer Battle, SF is trying to appeal to the audience they left behind starting around the late-80s to the early 2000s. Adding multiple big-budget attractions is also bound to put a company like SF into deep debt. By bringing families with huge checkbooks, SF has a chance to get out of that debt. 4. Look at Cedar Fair! They're been adding big-budget attractions to the former Paramount Parks and yet, they're still in enough debt to be sold to a new corporation. Splash battles are becoming very popular anyway so I'm not surprised by this business decision.
  8. Kids, gather round, I have a story to tell you about the day a mere pickle achieved more fans than Nickelback. It was a great celebration. Even though the onion ring that had more fans than Justin Bieber came first, it was sadly deleted shortly afterward. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Can-this-pickle-get-more-fans-than-Nickleback/282013353726?ref=mf
  9. After three straight weeks of snow, it's finally nice and warm outside... Supposed to be in the 50s today.
  10. Actually, now that I keep thinking about it, I REALLY wanna see Herschend or Busch buy this park... Looking at the way their parks are run today (Dollywood, SDC, BGW/T, Sea World), either company is PERFECT for this park!
  11. A biomedical facility and hospital in RCT3 actually sounds interesting. Definitely something cool and unique, since its never been done before. Oh well, the project was fun while it lasted. Perhaps in the future, when the Hawaii's a bit cleaner we can see what a hospital/research facility in RCT really looks like.
  12. It was either Shockwave or Whizzer. An Arrow multi-looper that you can ride just about anywhere, and chances are that people would complain about it in the future due to roughness or a classic ride that's one of only two left in the world, opened with the park, and is an excellent family coaster. Take your pick. Its a family ride, therefore it doesn't appeal to you. It appeals to the family crowd, which is something SF is trying to chase after. Now I haven't been on BB, but the ride itself looks awesome! On top of that, its a water ride, like Yankee Clipper/Loggers Run. I've heard noting but good about the ride in generall. It looks like a nice family ride investment considering the fact that many parks are opting for a Splash Battle-type ride to appeal to families. And on top of that, families drive 4 hours to ride BB and all the other rides. It's not meant to be a Intimidator-sized attraction that people will solely drive 4 hours to ride. You can say that families drive 4 hours to ride BB, the other three (or is it four) water rides/other flat rides, see the shows, visit the water park, and (in general) spend time together.
  13. While I love the scenery, I have to agree with everyone else that the park needs something big and bad to draw people into the park. An Arrow Mega-Looper or Intamin Stand Up would work well to bring people through the gate. A major flat ride could also draw people through the gate if a building another huge coaster is risky for the park. I would suggest SF buy the park, but I've noticed that everyone else's park is being bought out/built by SF, it would be sorta cliche.
  14. GCI just updated their Facebook page with another pic... Looks pretty intense so far. Speculate away! Found via Facebook!
  15. The human genome contains DNA from ancient viruses and bacteria. Mollusks are the second largest phylum of animals (only to insects). Passenger pigeons can only reproduce in large clusters. A little bit about physics The nutritional value of a meal at Costco
  16. Don't you just love it when there's a blizzard so bad it causes a 50 car pileup near your house and dangerous traffic everywhere and you STILL have to go to school?
  17. ^ People tend to have high expectations for Super Bowl commercials because they're so expensive so we expect them to be good. Most of the commercials this year were local commercials and commercials for CBS shows so none of them really stood out IMO. Anyway... IMO the best commercials this year were... - Get yo hands of my momma and get yo hands off my Doritos - KIA - Dante's Inferno - Simpson's Coke - Green Police - Doritos Samurai - Denny's Grand Slam Breakfast - Budweiser Clydesdales - Emerald Nuts - Boost Mobile I missed some of the other commercials because I had homework to do...
  18. netdvn be enjoying Wes' recent tales.
  19. Ever since the upgrade, the HTML tags in my signature have been acting all funny... Every time I try to modify my sig, the hyperlinks I've embedded become part of the text itself.
  20. Thanks Flipdude Are you ready for this??? The next park in the MIniland chain... The Miniland chain is sorta based off of the new parks popping up in China. Major coasters - Diablo - A custom Intamin Mega-Lite - The devil wants his revenge - Element - Mack Launched Looper - Discover the lab of a mad scientist bent on taking daring thrillsekers on the ride of their lives. - Bombshell - GCI Wooden Twister - Great family coaster, not to small for the thrillseekers in mind, but not to big to be intimidating. - Spinjas - Gerstaluer spinning coaster - Couldn't think of a proper theme, but I liked the name for some reason - Mine Crash - Vekoma mine train - Enter the abandoned mine, but beware of the twisted mine train Major water rides - Styx Falls - Journey into the depths of the underworld and the only way out is over the falls (Intamin flume) - Star Flume - A fun flume ride for the whole family - Rock River - Rapids ride themed to a lost cave civilization Major thril rides - Abyss - drop tower - Are you brave enough to fall into the abyss? - Spitfire - Giant Frisbee Miniland is a chain of theme parks built with space in mind. The rides/attractions are basically built on top of each other. The parks combine extreme thrills with family rides and shows. Enter the park... Bombshell looms over the entrance. Diablo is one of the more unique Mega-Lites because it doesn't have the turn at the bottom of the first drop. The Aquasplash Water Kingdom - Cool off here when it gets too hot The Star Flume is themed to a desert canyon Element and Styx falls await daring riders Overview of the entire park, there's still a section I haven't included yet. Stay tuned or check out all my artwork on Facebook including ones I haven't posted here. Another Miniland park is coming soon.
  21. Man it seems like only yesterday that Pants on the Ground and Formspring.me was the "in" thing on the Internet... But to be honest, those were some pretty funny Photoshops and I've never even seen Jersey Shore.
  22. This is a little off topic, but does anybody know of the woodie that was supposed to go to Morey's. I remember it being announced and there were a few updates a while back, but it seems to have dropped off the radar since then.
  23. From what I've heard, Decades is still on the drawing board and hasn't been approved for construction yet.
  24. Get rid of the concrete waterpark and expand the lake...
