  1. Have you tried using VLC Media Player? I've never had a problem with using it over WMP and it can run pretty much any media file you throw at it.
  2. Actually B&M has slight variations on their track style. Hyper track is larger, has straight sides, and a thicker spine. Invert track is smaller and has curved sides. Flyer track is similar to the invert track, but the sides are more pronounced. Which means that its hyper track. If it seems too twisty to be a hyper then, chances are it's a hyper-twister (Raging Bull). [photos courtesy of RCDB, slightly cropped to (hopefully) fit the uploading guidelines] New mystery track. 3. Time to come back to this... - It doesn't seem to be invert/flyer track because it seems too big. - Valleyfair's B&M invert rumors have been going around for years, although CF did give Carowinds their long-rumored hyper. - BGW has that mysterious tower thingy so it's definitely not going there, unless the rumored flyer is going to be part of the tower complex.
  4. FIxed. The DMV has the absolute worst service ever. Everything is disorganized and everything has a wait time. It's not just California, but every single other state. QFT But then again, anything run by the government in general isn't very efficient.
  5. Alright, this is gonna cover as much of the speculation as I can get for now... - The track seems to be hyper track from looking at the size/track ties. - Hershey has been rumored to having a 2-coaster deal with B&M for years. The rumor resurfaced when both Storm Runner and Fahrenheit were being speculated. Whether or not the rumor holds true, let's wait and see. - Nothing is going to Dubai/Nigeria, especially Dubai (at least I refuse to believe anything is going to Dubai until one of the theme parks actually makes it off the drawing board). Since none of the proposed theme parks have been built for Dubailand, it doesn't seem likely that this track is going there. Since Ferrari World isn't in Dubai, it doesn't count. As for Nigeria, we haven't seen anything come up from that project (not even concept art) so I'm not really sure if the project is still in the works.
  6. Dan's Awesome Artwork is now using Flickr. And don't forget to hit the "Like" button if you have a Facebook.
  7. WTF? Twilight's gotten to the point where people will apparently "dress up" as "werewolves" complete with contact lenses that are supposed to simulate the werewolf look, SMB3-style Tanooki tails, and "leashes".
  8. GCI - Fix the first drop... It doesn't feel right, especially for a GCI B&M - Looks pretty good actually. Gives off a traveling coaster feel, which isn't bad. Try not to place turns directly after large drops unless the turns are on a hill or they're a bit larger and more drawn out. The turns after the first drop on are bound to cause some pain. What you need to work on - Extend your final brake runs so that they're longer than two squares across. And keep working on the theming. Instead of focusing on the theming around the ride, put a bit of emphasis on building station buildings. Look at real coasters for inspiration. From looks alone, you've improved greatly from your first screenshots. Keep up the good work.
  9. Theme Park Critic and Theme Park Insider were probably the two biggest ride/attraction review sites of their time. Both sites still have reviews, but both TPI has sorta gone away from the individual ride reviews for a rating system based on numbers and TPC has pretty much gone the way of 90% of the theme park/roller coaster-related websites from the early-2000s and is pretty much an abandoned project that hasn't been updated since last year. Pretty sad since TPC had a very comprehensive review section. Here's a link to TPC.
  10. Is it just me or do I always miss all the drama that goes on TPR.
  11. ^ Is Snorlax still blocking some of the pathways in Kanto or was that removed in HG/SS? I remember having to use the radio to wake Snorlax up in the original.
  12. ^ It would probably suit the ride better if it were 5 gum instead of Stride since 5 has a black background... But IMO Stride is one of the best chewing gums around. On another note... I found this on a TPR member's Facebook page earlier today and thought I might share it with everyone. This could mean that Chang (or something around that height) is coming to the park.
  13. I doubt either of those coasters took the turn at the base of the first drop at 90+ miles an hour, nor had a steep drop going into said turn.
  14. ^ Feel free to use any of my designs for any of your projects... You can get a slightly clearer pic on my Facebook fan page, but I'll be glad to put a general layout together and send it to you. Just acknowledge that I designed the coaster and if you wish, post a link to the fan page/artwork thread. Any extra exposure is good exposure IMO.
  15. My dad made me and my brother a Geocities account way back in 1999. I lost the password and the URL so I couldn't find it anymore. There was an ongoing Geocities archival project that was going on before the site shut down, but I'm not sure about its current state.
  16. I've been working on a number of requests for friends... First picture, Dragon Castle is a B&M floorless which sends daring riders through a castle that was abandoned due to a family of dragons taking over. The ride is based off of BGW's Drachen Fire. Second picture, an drop tower-type ride inspired by BGW's height waiver. There have been rumors of a drop tower coming to the park and I decided to put my take of it. *Note: Due to TPR's image size issue, I had to cut off some of the image to get it to attach as well as decrease the quality of the image. You can see the full version on my fan page. I'm currently trying to find a program/website to fix this. Click here for the fan page... Become a fan and tell the world.
  17. I was hoping Herschend or Busch would buy out the park since everybody always does SF buyouts for their RCT parks. And Herschend/Busch would continue focusing on the level of theming/attention to detail that you're is known for. Oh well, at least the park survives for a few more years. Looking forward to the rest of the project.
  18. Is I305 really getting trims or is everybody jumping to conclusions again?
  19. Sometimes I join the night crew when I'm on the computer at an odd time and the other websites I frequent become slower with activity. Although I'm trying to work on my sleeping habits so my night crew time is dwindling. But I'll join for fun.
  20. Personally I would post a rant if I had to go to a Jonas Brothers concert.
  21. ^ - How far are those locations from SFA? - How should SF pay for these buses? The drivers? Gas? - How would SF make up for lost revenue from parking costs? - How would shuttle buses affect any possible new attractions that are currently in the works for the park? Dates pushed back, canceled, etc...
  22. WDW currently uses 1/5th of the land that it currently sits on right now (or around that much)... That includes all the theme parks, water parks, resorts, transportation, etc... As long as the park continues to improve on its family-friendly image, and the rest of the park is cleaned up, people will be drawn to the park as well as bring back some customers that abandoned the park years ago and bring in some new customers. Does SF even have the money to form a shuttle bus fleet? Is that even all that efficient?? A shuttle bus fleet would work better for a major resort park like WDW, but SFA is a regional theme park that doesn't have anywhere to send shuttle buses to. Where are the stops gonna be? And then what about the hotels in the area that send their shuttles to SFA? Would SFA have to compete with those?
  23. ^ Honestly I see Weber walking into the park and calling it the next Paramount's Great America. By that, I mean that the park will remain the same way that it is right now with the occasional family ride mixed in. I really don't see any really drastic changes coming into the SF chain in general. Actually SFA is pretty much in the same state that CGA has always been in... Being treated as the red-headed stepchild of the chain that the park is operating under.
  24. Funny for you to say that. Why is it a party when I show up in a thread? Because you're a bot... Unless you actually work maintenance for Medusa/SROS, you have no idea about whether or not they have something wrong with them. It could've been that both SROS and Medusa were aging poorly due to environmental conditions or heavier wear and tear after 10 years of operation and upgrading them would reduce maintenance costs for both coasters. You never really know. And plenty of new rides/attractions have cool special effects on the ride. Look at Mystery Mine or Tower of Terror. The effects are a bonus to give a slightly different ride experience from the original.
