  1. Dueling GGs... Airtime - Plenty of it. Windmill - Themed to a flying dinosaur (or it could be to throw us off) Tall - Very tall Couple side by side - See dueling GGs. FIX'D Let's throw in that Wallibi Vertigo coaster (that everybody thought was an eyesore) into the mix... - Obviously spends time in the air - Obviously soars - Obviously has a cool spinning lift hill - Let's make it duel too! Because everybody loves a good dueling coaster. This is Cedar Point... They could be very well throwing everyone a curveball.
  2. It could also be a Zamplerla flyer as well. It fits all the criteria... - Spends time in the air = Airtime - Has a spiral lift hill = spinning Windmill - Utah was just there to throw people off - Soars = StrataSOAR Or a half pipe slide...
  3. Links to this site. Utah windmill + dinosaurs? BP the ride... or alternative energy source the ride.
  4. Got my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday and it really sucks. I've got a dull pain in my mouth and blood. Now I can only eat soft food for the next couple days while my mouth heals. Luckily I have that trip to New York on Saturday to look forward to.
  5. Six Flags really needs to bring back that old school logo for the anniversary. It looks pretty cool! Maybe they should do it for all their parks.
  6. Coming from a conservative home, I honestly could care less about letting gays marry. If they're not breaking any actual laws, they should be allowed to marry. A large portion of the country is deeply religious and many religions denounce gay marriage so as a lot of people have said before, why not remove the term "marriage" and use "civil union" instead? Meh... In the long run, I feel this debate will pretty much last forever as long as religion is against gay marriage.
  7. Posted all over the place... I enjoyed my cruise this week.

  9. Dude... Its called viral marketing and it works. It worked for movies like Cloverfield and NBC's doing it with their "Event" TV series. Hersheypark, CP, KD, Carowinds, BGT, SFNE, Alton Towers, and SFGAdv all tried it and it generated more buzz than ever (if you were around last year to see all the buzz that their viral marketing campaigns generated, you would know). As more parks discover the magic of viral marketing campaigns, more parks will jump in on the idea. As long as viral marketing works, everyone will continue to do it whether you like it or not.
  10. ^ SFGAdv already had a blue and white coaster called Shockwave at one point -_- Interestingly enough, it was also a stand-up.
  11. Since I'm going on my cruise in two days, does anybody know the state of wifi aboard the older Carnival ships? - I know it costs money to use the wireless, but what about using the terminals in the Internet cafe? - How fast is the connection? Fast? Slow? Average? I'll also be stopping in Nassau and Freeport... Are there any must-do activities that I can't miss? Thanks
  12. FM99 WNOR - Best morning show ever! Awesome music selection, but I mainly listen to the morning show. Rock & Metal 97.3 The Eagle WGH - Country station... Plays mostly Top 40 stuff WAFX 106.9 The Fox - Classic Rock station WPTE 94.9 The Point - Plays generic Top 40 stuff with some retro Top 40 stuff thrown in.. I change the dial when any of that teenybopper music comes on though. 106.1 US1106 - Country station - plays more music than the other Top 40 country station Other Rock 107 - Northeast PA's Rock station... Since the former host of FM99's morning show moved from VA to PA, I took a listen
  13. Facebook didn't even install a dislike button despite almost everyone being for the idea and the millions of fan pages/groups that followed supporting the dislike button. Same goes for all the groups/pages bashing the new layouts that are rolled out twice a year. SFA isn't gonna change their plans just because some obscure Facebook group. Speaking of Facebook groups.[/plug]
  14. I can hear Illuminights every night from my house.
  15. I posted this rant on my DeviantART page and thought I'd share my information here. As you can see, I'm not the biggest fan of Adobe Flash player, which was one of the main reasons why I abandoned IE for Firefox. Since you can download Flash to Portable Firefox without any problem, I got rid of the crappy, crash-prone, virus magnet that was IE7 after I became frustrated with the way the browser ran.
  16. A bit nitpicky, but that doesn't look like an Arrow shuttle. They usually start high off the ground, drop into a loop, go up a hill and end up on a platform on the other side. Sorta like this... But i guess its your park so you could do whatever you want with it. Overall the park looks great and the scenery is well-done. Some of the buildings look a little blocky, but the rest of the park is excellent. The Photoshop job gives the pictures a 70's feel to the park.
  17. Dan's Awesome Artwork is now using DeviantART! Follow me on Flickr And follow me on Facebook! Stay up to date on all the artwork I post including weekly updates and social network exclusive artwork! A little taste of what's to come! Some of the image has been cut off due to TPR size restrictions. For the full image effect, check out the links above.
  18. These are incredible!!! Words can't really comprehend how awesome some of those shots turned out.
  19. Instead of completely demolishing Whizzer, I really think they need to give it a Texas Giant-style makeover. New track, new trains, some theming to enhance the experience. With spare parts being harder and harder to come by, the ride could use a major rehab to extend its life a couple more decades. With other large Arrow coasters starting to go the way of the dinosaur, seeing Demon go would be kinda sad, especially since its an original MGA ride.
  20. Are you referring to the whole thread or the posts of one particular dead horse beater? Getting mugged in DC > Getting mugged at SFA I'm referring to a collective group of dead horse beaters. Getting mugged anywhere >>> SFA
  21. To be perfectly honest, the more I read this thread, the more  I see... -_-
  22. 1) SF cannot just plop new rides down left and right and pray for people to come. That's what got the chain (and Cedar Fair) into debt. That's why HRP/Wild West World failed. 2) SFA doesn't have the budget, nor attendance that the flagship parks have; therefore, they cannot pay for new rides/keep them maintained properly. If they started adding new rides, how would SFA keep them maintained. It's been stated before that the park has had trouble finding maintenance people to keep their rides in operation. Its called improving your image. There's a reason why parks like Silver Dollar City and Kennywood remain successful, even without adding big new roller coasters and thrill rides year after year. These parks are known for having good customer service and quality rides/attractions. Quality is always more important than quantity.
  23. You have to consider... 1) Whatever SFA has in store for the future, chances are it's all under wraps. Most parks don't like leaking details unless the time is right. Even if the page were run by the park president, chances are he's not gonna tell you when the park is getting their next big attraction until the time is right. 2) People living near parks ALWAYS ask for a new coaster. People on BGW's fan page are asking for coasters as well. Same probably goes for any other major park that doesn't add rides year after year with their own Facebook page.
  24. Both parks are landlocked making it impossible to expand without moving or removing some rides/attractions. Looking at Google Maps, there's a housing development and a high school bordering two sides of the resort and City Walk/parking garage/hotels in front. There seems to be a large, empty tract of land where Universal can expand right behind where Toon Lagoon sits, but Universal would have to find a way to get people across (what looks like) a four lane roadway.
