  1. ^ My cousin went also and put a picture on Instagram and I got pretty jealous. The park is pretty weird when It's dead. I've gone on just a random day in August and it's even more dead. Glad to hear they kept two-train operation going. In more news, Sky Screamer is now officially VERTICAL! Courtesy of the park FaceBook Page
  2. Ehhhh. I used to love takis but they're too salty for me now! I don't like the advertising on NTAG. It's too overdone. But the trains aren't wrapped so it could be worse.
  3. ^The preview video did show 25+ additional acres to expand. Very possible!
  4. Just had a Coke with dinner!
  5. EDIT 10:28 CST- The news segment has aired! It is Grand Texas, will be built in phases, and will include a 'Top 10 Wooden Coaster' (Let's pray to the roller coaster gods it's from RMC), and is set to open March 2015. More information will be revealed next month when the land is set to be purchased. www.click2houston.com/news/Grand-Texas-park-could-finalize-land-purchase-next-month/-/1735978/19643106/-/vhmmftz/-/index.html The article also has links to the parks Facebook and YouTube pages. Let's hope this actually happens!
  6. ^Yes! That's the one! That better fits the description. Looks like progress has moved on a little I guess.
  7. If you live in the Houston area, tonight on KPRC Local 2 at 10:00, they will be discussing a new park projected for Houston "with ties to AstroWorld." The teaser showed a brief glance at the park projections, and a tower of some sort and a woodie were shown. I'm guessing this is most likely Playland Park. I'm pretty curious to see what this could be.
  8. ^Yeah the Denver airport is very nice. I don't think it would look too bad on YOLOcoaster. I'm very pleased with how the coaster is looking. The loop structure looks like it will massive. When this thing tests it ought to be very interesting.
  9. Iron Sharks lift slows at the top, and that's a Landry's park. It is a small park though but hey, it isn't a six flags. It really works on that ride though because it's a Eurofighter, so it kind of elongates that 'Oh S***' moment before the drop. On Iron Rattler however, it looks a tad weird, so I hope it's something that eventually phases out or is solely for testing purposes. But if not, I won't be complaining about it.
  10. Probably because the drop is higher and the element is taken with greater speed... I also noticed it appeared the double up on NTAG is more gradual than on IRAT; IRAT's looks a tad sharper. I could be completely wrong, though. I haven't seen IRAT in person yet.
  11. That's what I thought. That one is my favorite! Nice pictures!
  12. The Morgan trains on the Steel Eel aren't that bad, they're comfortable, but I would prefer these B&M trains over the Morgans. Hopefully the success with these will spark some interest from other parks. They look pretty nice!
  13. I've only ridden two (Scream! And Superman Tower of Power), but despite being half of Superman's height, I find Scream better because it is just as fast, but has way more airtime and its far more intense. Taller doesn't always mean better.
  14. Well that doesn't look dangerous at all. That looks like an accident waiting to happen. I'm not sure what safety standards are like in Cambodia but just by looking at this picture, I guess it's safe to assume they are not very strict. It's always sad to hear about a death like this.
  15. I live in Texas, and have been to Florida and Colorado.
  16. The closest aqua loop to me if I'm not mistaken is in Louisiana I've got to get out there one if these days!
  17. ^Yeah, it's been pretty windy at least here in Houston. I imagine Dallas is pretty bad too.
  18. A couple years back, Mr. Freeze valleyed not long before we went to go ride, and since it was closed we decided to ride batman. It wasn't until we got up the lift I discovered the train had valleyed and was covered with a tarp. How they valleyed NTAG, I don't know. That's just weird, weather conditions mut have been pretty bad.
  19. Theme parks are nice, but I'm a thrill person. Theme parks tend to lack this a little (unless your talking about BGA.) But for me, amusement park wins. More rides, and it has just a tad more thrill factor!
  20. It's kind of a good thing when a woodie sways because it means its absorbing shock, but NOT like the original Rattler did. It just looked unstable. The ride slammed against the exit ramp for goodness sake. It needed some extra supporting or something. No wonder the ride deteriorated so fast...
  21. Outlaw Run looks great and all, but when it comes to certain aspects like airtime, Iron Rattler has Oultaw Run beat. Plus, it's built on a quarry wall and dives in and out and around it, so the terrain setting is better compared to trees. And the trains.... they are so cool looking! Outlaw Run to me focuses more on 'TWISTY!!!' and Iron Rattler on airtime. They are two really different coasters. My vote goes to Iron Rattler!
  22. Now I see it! I also caught the reverse over banked turn. All I have to say is....wow. This is looking incredible. I knew testing was coming sooner than expected! This is exciting!
  23. Graduating in May 2014 and plan on majoring in Biology!
  24. Backwards launches are kind of pointless in my opinion unless its the highlight if the ride, like Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast. It's key element is a backwards launch. Yolocoasters isn't necessary, it's just kind of there. It would be cooler of it just blasted right through the tunnel, it kind of kills the ride experience to slow the ride down to a complete stop when it's easier to give the ride an extra boost. It would probably increase capacity a tad too, not by much though.
  25. I'm almost positive somewhere earlier in this thread, maybe on the stat sheet, it said it is going to run with two trains.
