Riding four different RMCs in a span of five days is a coaster enthusiast's dream, this was the best coaster trip I have taken so far! The RMC hype is very real, each of these coasters provide an intense and ridiculously airtime filled ride experience (Outlaw Run is beyond words...) I remember on one of our rides on Iron Rattler Jeremy actually tried to hold me down over the first drop because he thought I was coming out!! Some of the best airtime I've ever felt on a roller coaster has come from the RMCs, I can't wait to ride their newest creations this summer!

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

Yeah, there aren't very many wooden coasters that are about the laterals anymore. I guess they're just going out of style? Well, Schilke said he wants to bring laterals back, so at least we'll have that. I'd say people generally don't like strong lateral forces, as they do tend to be a bit uncomfortable. However, the RMCs do a great job at making lateral forces enjoyable and thrilling, I definitely hope to see more coasters built with these moments. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

this is not a joke please ask this. Will dorney park ever get a custom coaster again?" -patient dorney fan WTF? Did you READ what we posted? What would you like us to ask ABOUT VALRAVN. Seriously. Why would we ask a Dorney Park question at a Cedar Point event?!?!!? If you have a question about ValRavn, please post it, but don't waste our time. You could ask them if it is hard to work on VALRAVN when it is very, very, very cold outside and your fingers hurt. I always wondered that living in So Cal You could also ask them if one of those VALRAVNs would fit in Knott's but I am guessing that question would also be inappropriate? -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Maverick at Cedar Point just over a week ago! For a ride that has been number one on my coaster bucket list for quite some time, it definitely lived up to the hype! -
What is your next park?

Six Flags Great America this Saturday the 10th! Can't wait to ride my 5th RMC -
I'd like to see a company like GCI or Gravity Group adjust the layout on GhostRider, more than just a simple retracking. It would be interesting to see if any of these manufacturers are up to competing with RMC, seeing as Rocky Mountain has been dominating in wooden coaster refurbishments. After all, greater competition should lead to more and more excellent coasters

I can attest for this, when I rode Outlaw Run back in July the wheel seats provided a noticeably different ride than the non wheel seats. It was more of a "rough" ride. Granted, OR still is my favorite wooden coaster, whatever roughness exists is only because how freaking intense this coaster is, it's almost like the train goes too fast through the course.

I'm with chickenbowl on this one, I think SFGAdv could do much better than an S&S FreeSpin. I am not a fan of Batman at SFFT, I had high hopes for the ride and was greatly disappointed. The plastic vest restraints drilled into my collar bones throughout the entire course, creating quite an uncomfortable experience. Not to mention that as soon as the car disengaged the lift I took a nasty shot to the crotch; sorry, no thanks. The ride did breakdown multiple times, throughout the day I would notice a car stuck on the lift or the coaster just not operating at all. On a positive note I can say that ride spins much more than Green Lantern at SFMM, creating less of a shoulder bashing. Overall though, I don't see this as a good addition to a major park in the chain like Great Adventure, perhaps a better fit would be SFStL or SFA.

As much as I do prefer coasters that focus more on airtime and positive Gs than inversions, RMC does a really good job with inversions. They are smooth, transition well, and provide some pretty funky airtime type feelings. I wouldn't mind at all if Roar had one or two inversions similar to the barrel rolls on Outlaw Run or the Zero G on Iron Rattler

Anyone ridden all the RMCs yet?
X2coasterfreak replied to kweiss's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've ridden four out of the seven currently operating RMCs, and would rank them as follows: 1. Outlaw Run 2. New Texas Giant 3. Iron Rattler 4. Twisted Colossus My reasoning for these rankings are along the same lines as chickenbowl's. All of these Rocky Mointain coasters are amazing, and I can not wait to see what this company has to offer next! -
This is probably one of the most ignorant statements I've read on this site in awhile, and that's saying a lot. You have absolutely no knowledge of what a RMC Roar layout will be. I seriously can't believe one element would detract any enthusiast away from wanting an RMC coaster, a company who only delivers top tier coasters. But whatever, you do you man...

What enthusiast wouldn't want an Intamin airtime machine in their park? But really man? Is Twisted Colossus alone not good enough? I really hope SFMM takes a step back from the fury of additions and starts focusing on improving what they already have, like the poster above mentions. It could take the park from being the lackluster quality it is to something even better than it was during the Jay Thomas era. One can hope, at least.

IMO, if the trains don't duel, it's not a huge loss. The coaster itself is so great that even when the ride was dueling, the only thing I could focus on was the ridiculous amounts of airtime I was experiencing. The dueling adds to the experience, but doesn't really take much away when it doesn't duel.
