  1. So I will be making my first ever trip to Great Adventure on Wednesday June 27. What are crowds like on weekdays in summer? (will a Q-bot be necessary?) Also I'm not sure which rides to hit first, either Green Lantern, to Superman, to Kingda Ka. Or Kingda Ka, to El Toro, to Superman/Green Lantern. Thanks!
  2. I have had the Dole Whip in Hawaii, and it is heaven, especially with fresh pineapple served in it. I hope SFMM's Dole Whips taste just as good.
  3. Skyrush seriously looks awesome. Next to I305 and Shambhala, this is the ride I would kill to ride. I don't know if anyone else has said this yet, but I have a sick feeling that Hershey may tame down the ride because of the discomfort it's giving its riders. I really hope they don't, and Hershey most likely won't, because the airtime on this ride seems to be unlike anything else.
  4. Alright, this has been a bit over due, seeing as I rode Manta on Saturday, but I just wanted to give my opinion on the ride. I am honestly in love with this roller coaster. It is the perfect fit, I think, for SWSD. It is a very fun ride, not very thrilling, but definitely fun. It blew the expectations I had for it, the launches were more forceful than I thought they were, and the airtime on the ride surprised me. I'd go out on a limb and say this is a family coaster on steroids, it packs surprising punch. Out of the nine times chickenbowl and I rode, I would have to say night time is the best to ride, everything just seems faster. And the trains look freaking awesome too, they are are very comfortable and look amazing. On whether to ride the ride front or back, I would have to recommend riding closer to the front, the airtime feels like it sustains itself longer, while in the back there is an extra pop. Overall, I had a great day at Sea World, hanging out with my friends, and meeting Mr,. and Lady Bebe So if you are near SWSD, go ride Manta, you won't be disappointed.
  5. ^^ Line jumping is a big issue on Manta. On saturday, each of the nine times we waited, we were cut. I like how Sea World's locker.s are free, but they need to find a way to make the system better to avoid line jumping. Also, on Saturday morning, the wooden railings were clean, and looked really nice. By the end of the night, there was a lot of grafiti, it is quite sad.
  6. I have a hard time believing that X2 operates at 350 riders people hour. I remebering hearing in an interview with Jay Thomas back when the ride opened, that capacity would be at 1300+. Plus I don't think you are accounting for multiple trains. When I was at the park this last weekend, dispatches were nowhere near five minutes, and that's running two trains. SFMM has bad operations, but not that bad.
  7. This ride look really great! There seems to even be a few, yet brief, moments of airtime! So excited to ride this opening day Saturday!
  8. Ok here is my quick rant on Green Lantern. I literally was just waiting in the single rider line, when a train came in unbalanced. The operator was trying to rebalance the train by repeatingly jamming at the button that lowers the bar that balances the car. She wasn't timing it right so the car kept flipping. It irritated the living hell out of me watching her attempt and fail over and over. So instead of manually fixing the problem, maintenance was called, causing the ride to go down, with a one plus hour line. I don't know if it's just me but it was seriously frustrating watching this whole "ordeal". *Edit- And two people just lit up a joint in line at Goliath. Magic Mountain has so much class.
  9. So I will be making my first ever trip to King's Dominion Monday July 2. I had a couple questions for you KD enthusiasts. What are crowds like on a Monday in the summer? Would Fast Lane be advisable? And I have people traveling in my group who want to go to the waterpark as well, is that an upcharge to get into the park or is it included? I know that running to Volcano and then Flight of Fear would be the best start to the park, so I definitely plan on heading there first. Thanks!
  10. Seriously disappointed that Hershey isn't an option for me when I'm back east this summer, because holy crap that is a lot of airtime I can not wait until this thing is running up to full speed because it is really going to kick some major @$$!
  11. When Jay Thomas came to the park, he really knew what he was doing. He cleaned the place up, and made trips to the park a lot more bearable. I really miss Jay and what he did for the park, cleanliness wise and ride wise, an overall family friendly place. I really enjoyed the park during his "presidency". Now with Bonnie Rabjohn, the park is back in this depressing decline, and it is sad to see the place turning back into what it once was. I'm surprised that Tim, or Neal, or for that matter any other previous manager don't seem to keep the values Jay had for the park.
  12. Haha, their drop tower is very... interesting. I remember when I was there back in December, they said they could only load two sides because it was "faulty". Also Screamin' Demon was closed at that time as well. ^And yes, this park makes you feel like a total whore
  13. ^^ The fact that Green Lantern is run that way irks me to no end. Seriously if they put a freaking ZacSpin in, run it the way the ride is designed to. What is the park afraid of if they run it to spin? Would it be too extreme? They have plenty of crazy rides with insane elements, Goliath's helix, Tatsu's pretzel loop, etc. The ride is built to be "xtreme coaster", so run it like one.
  14. So I searched: Wisconsin, Olympus and Rome. chadsters photo TR kept coming up in all of my searches so when I finally got smart enough to click the link, I found another link on Rome Hotel, and found the winner award!
  15. I took that survey as well. I thought some of the "confidential" questions were kind of strange, but I made sure to say no more inversions and more airtime. I wonder if management even reads the survey responses though, would they really make a drastic change if enough people want it?
  16. Do we know how late in summer? I will be making my first trip to the park in early July, so hopefull the ride won't be closed by then.
  17. Most likely Sea World San Diego for the opening of Manta.
  18. As long as there is a kick a$$ new coaster in the works I'm happy. This whole multi- launched/ longest coaster/ biggest loop sound great, just please have airtime. This park, and the rest of California, need an airtime machine.
  19. If it valley'd, that will take some work to get out. Thankfully it's near the end of the ride. I remember at WCB 10 hearing that it takes a crane to guide the train throughout the rest of the course. It sounds like a tough job since the train weighs so much, but knowing SFMM, who knows how long it will take. *Edit- Also I know that if it is a windy day, the ride basically acts as a giant sail, therefore stopping the trains momentum. That is one of the problems the original X had.
  20. ^Do you mean a dive machine and some sort of Intamin at the same time? How will the park ever have the money to pay for both? Those would be some expensive purchases. I think MM will put in one of those two possibilities, hopefully the Intamin. By the way, I think the CoasterGuy reported that in Deja Vu's spot the newly relocated employee cafeteria would go there, because of Lex Luther taking its current spot.
  21. It's like when I was there a few weeks ago, I was pissed off when I saw the ride op mixing around members of a party and saying, " I need to balance the car." Honestly is called a ZacSPIN for a reason so let it spin!
  22. Had a great Christmas! -TaylorMade Burner SuperFast 2.0 Driver -Otterbox Defender case for my iPhone -Inheritance book -Streetlight Manifesto Everything Goes Numb CD -Batman Arkham City and Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary COD MW3 wireless controller -$190 cash
