Looks like a great coaster, just enough for this park. Can't wait to see it with theming. I already really love the trains. -

^^Yeah, ride Mean Streak as near to the front as possible. Rode it a couple weeks back in the front and it wasn't that bad of a ride but still boring. -

This coaster looks like an amazing mix of many other coasters from around the world, and it looks fantastic. Really would love to visit Liseberg one day to ride this. -

Hey everyone, I will be heading to Knoebels sometime next week, right after I visit Hershey. Anything I should know before going? I know it looks like a great, little park and I can't wait to ride Phoenix. Just would like to know if there is anything worth noting I wouldn't already know since I don't really keep up to date with this park 24/7. -

Really enjoyed the video! I've never seen someone use slow motion really in any videos and it really helped capture the emotions of the riders, especially on TTD. Loved it really, hoping you make many more! -
Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
CpBluestreakCp replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey, everyone. I'll be arriving and checking into Hershey's hotel on Monday the 1st of July and will be going to the park on the Tuesday after. I know to do the backwards plan, I'll make sure to do that. And three other questions: 1.) If I arrive early enough, I will be able to get into the park the day before I spend my full day at the park, correct? 2.) Is a Tuesday a usual day with minimal crowds? 3.) Do you think I will need the Fast Track Pass? Thanks to anyone who answers! -

B&M Wing Rider Coasters - Love or Hate?
CpBluestreakCp replied to jfruge's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, I rode GateKeeper around 10 times at media day at Cedar Point and haven't ridden any other wing coasters yet. While I must say these coasters are very fun and great to look at, that's about how far it goes. In my opinion, if you ride this type of coaster, it needs to be in the front seat. Here, you are able to experience all the close encounters to the supports and keyholes, making it much more of an exciting coaster. In any other seat, it can get a little boring and not even deliver the experience of "flight" at all. The back seats are fun as well, especially if the wing coaster has a dive drop, but other than that, it doesn't get much more exciting. When I rode GateKeeper, I can say I felt little to no airtime at all. Not on the giant camelback nor on the little bunny hop toward the end, I'm not sure if any other wing riders have airtime, but I can say GateKeeper doesn't have it. It might be the fact that the restraints hold you into your seats like glue as well. I can say, though, GateKeeper had many points of hangtime and positive forces. I felt a great deal of positives coming out of the first drop and the first inversion, and a little in the helix. There was a lot of hang time in the dive drop and the keyhole section as well. All around, I do think wing coaster are GREAT additions for parks. The general public loves them, they are beautiful coasters, and can really add to a lineup such as Cedar Points. They are an all around fun coaster. If you are looking for "OMG THAT WAS AMAZING" type of experience, these aren't for you. -

^The two towers light up different colors, the whole coaster has floodlights under it, the lift has tracers on it, and the trains have lights. The eyes glow red and the wings have white lights on them. All I knew of. -

^More than likely the wind, I doubt it has anything to do with the cold air since it really isn't that cold. But, wow, really crazy how many coasters are valleying and closed. I'm glad I got to go to Media Day instead of opening weekend, coaster riding doesn't look too promising today or yesterday. -

Haven't quite been completely following the Smiler's progress, but this ride looks crazy! 14 inversions on one ride is insane, really. And it doesn't look too rough from the video but I guess you will have to wait to see if it is yourself. -

Well, I guess I'll finally get around to posting my review of GateKeeper. But first, thanks to Cedar Point for letting us in! Great experience and thanks to Robb for the nice Club TPR button! Well, as you approach the entrance, this coaster just dominates over the front of the park. It really shows off what you're day will consist of and what Cedar Point is all about, roller coasters. All the anesthetics of the ride are great. The color, the sound, the entrance area, everything! It was just a great all around choice for Cedar Point, especially right over the entrance. Now, the ride itself. As you leave the station, the ride's lift is really fast, more than what I expected! And you slowly make a pause and dive over that drop and into the immelman is fantastic! You get a lot of positive forces all over this ride and a lot of great hang time. But, what is missing is really any negative forces at all. I felt little to no airtime at all, that was a bit of a disappointment on the camel back especially. The ride's golden seat for me is really the front. Here you can see everything and all the near misses are that much better, especially the keyholes! In my opinion, this is the seat to ride on GateKeeper, it just delivers more of a thrill. My second favorite seat would have to be the back left side. My only other complaint would have to be the vest restraints. They do get tighter on you during the ride and left my collarbones sore after 5 rides or so. But that's only a minor nitpick. Overall, GateKeeper was a great addition and the GP will definitely eat this ride up. For me, this ride doesn't quite take the top 5 spot in my coaster rankings for Cedar Point, but definitely the top 10. So, if you haven't gotten out to ride yet, do so soon! It's a really fun coaster and a great addition to the Cedar Point lineup. -
I think a Mega-Lite would fit well in Kennywood's new valley area they just purchased. Something intermediate but big enough to draw crowds for that park! I could also see it at smaller scale Cedar Fair park such as ValleyFair or Michigan's Adventure, as well. We just need one in the United States period!

Either way, anything can outshine Millennium Force. It isn't that great of a ride, don't get me wrong, I love riding it! But, Intamin's coaster lately have been easily able to outshine Millennium. MF was a sort of prototype to see what they could do with 300feet, now that we know what we can do, they are building better coasters. So, even if it doesn't pass Millennium Force's height, I will still take a bet it will be better than it, that is of course if KI were to get a giga. Everything is speculation at this point. -
