  1. I really don't think there is room in that spot to fit a 500 footer or anywhere on the peninsula for that matter. The only way I could see any coaster going over 500ft is with a Polar Coaster and that wouldn't even have a 500 foot drop, just height. With money and maintenance, I don't think a 500 foot coaster is plausible anytime soon. That Dive Machine is still looking very promising though.
  2. Very cool and beautiful ride!
  3. I went to Carowinds on Thursday April 9th. It was a nice day, only spent about 5 hours there in order to get on all the main coasters. I'm hoping to go back one day to enjoy the overall park more. But here are my reviews. Vortex: Not a bad stand-up. Doesn't hurt me as much as Mantis did, but overall fun. (7/10) Thunder Road: Fun racing coaster, kinda rough but nothing special. (6/10) Ricochet: Standard mouse type. Fun besides me barely fitting since I'm 6'4. (5/10) Nighthawk: I really don't like these types of coasters at all. Neither this one or at KI. (5/10) Hurler: An interesting wooden coaster. Not your standard layout. Fun but not that great. (6/10) Carolina Goldrusher: A really cool mine ride coaster. (6.5/10) Carolina Cyclone: I didn't even know what was happening on this coaster honestly. (5/10) Carolina Cobra: I always like these boomerang coasters, find them very fun and intense. (7/10) Afterburn: I love inverts and I LOVED this one. I'm still not sure where to place it with Banshee and Raptor but it sure is up there. Very intense, maybe a bit short. But still a very good ride. (9.5/10) Intimidator: I really like hyper coasters and this one was no exception. Very fun and smooth with nice airtime. (8/10) Fury 325: Probably the main reason I went here. This coaster was VERY fun and packed an intensity I didn't expect. Just enough of a balance of airtime and fast, close to the ground turns. I loved the turnaround before the tunnel, cool element. Overall, a very quality coaster this park needed. Very rideable and something the GP loved. I heard many positive remarks. Now they kinda have a big 3 for their park; Afterburn, Intimidator, Fury. (9.5/10) Overall I liked Carowinds and I think it's filling in the gaps of its coaster lineup well. I feel like a wing coaster or some type of launched coaster would be nice in it as well.
  4. I'm sure it really doesn't matter. Plus they had Mantis running while the paint was being put on so that counts for a lot of the wear and tear on the rails.
  5. Cedar Point: 2016 B&M Dive Machine. 2018 Iron Horse Mean Streak. 2020 Something big, 500+ maybe somehow?!?! Canada's Wonderland: 2017 B&M Wing Coaster (Launched?) Kings Dominion: 2018 B&M Invert King's Island: B&M Giga 200? Carowinds: 2019 B&M Wing Coaster Knott's Berry Farm: B&M Hyper or Giga 2020+ California's Great America: Something smaller that is launched. Maybe a Premiere. 200? Valleyfair: B&M Invert. 200? Dorney Park: GCI 200? Michigan's Adventure: Small launched coaster like Impulse. 200? World's of Fun: GCI 200?
  6. I'm going to the park Thursday April 9th. And I have a few questions: 1.) Is is spring break by then still and should I expect it to be crowded? 2.) Kind of a follow up to that question; would fastlane then be worthwhile? 3.) Plan of attack for the park in the morning? Sorry if these have been responded to earlier in the thread, I just don't have time to look back into it at the moment. Thanks for any responses!
  7. 1996: Montu - BGT Flight of Fear - KI Mantis - CP
  8. Looks great! Hoping to get out there next week when I'm down in Myrtle Beach for baseball. Would be perfect timing.
  9. ^They aren't that good at keeping secrets for example GateKeeper and the Sandusky register leak.
  10. The anticipation is starting Really can't wait to see what this plot of land holds for us whether it be that Dive Machine or not. I'm excited.
  11. Another giant sign proclaiming the ride it is, I love it.
  12. Great TR! Every picture I see of this place makes it look more and more amazing. Hopefully one day I'll make it there but, for now, your TR will do it justice.
  13. It's hard to choose between them all.... But I would have to say Cannibal. The ride is unique and looks to be amazing. I can't wait to see how it plays out and rides. Honorable mentions are Twisted Colossus, Wicked Cyclone, Fury, and Batman.
  14. Cool entrance piece. Loving everything about this coaster.
  15. This park is absolutely beautiful and flows so well together! I will be checking back, can't wait to see more updates.
  16. ^^I guess you didn't see the No Limits Iron Mean Streak creation by a poster a few posts back. Just because Mean Streak's layout is boring now, doesn't mean you can't Iron Horse it and make it better. Have you seen one RMC coaster with the same exact layout before the conversion and after? No, they always tweak it to make it better.
  17. ^^I don't think anything like Fahrenheit is plausible. I find Fahrenheit an "eh" ride anyway, so I'm hoping for this Dive Coaster! Seeing as CP has been in love with B&M lately, this Dive Coaster looks likely. 2016 Dive Coaster. 2017 Mean Streak RMC conversion.
  18. From coasterblu on PointBuzz: "Okay, it's 2:00pm. Maverick is getting new restraints. Calipso has been moved and renamed Tiki Twirl. Dodgem has been COMPLETELY MOVED to right in front of maXair. A new, smaller version of Dodgem was build overlapping the line to Giant Wheel. It is named Joe Cool's Dodgem School. Good Times Theater has been cometely demolished and razed in order for unknown expansion for next year. Chickie and Pete's has restrooms this year. I think that that it it." Turnpike cars is also being removed. Looks like that Dive Coaster is looking more and more promising in that area considering all the things they are removing or taking out over there. New Dodgem location via Walt on PB:
  19. Really cool Iron Mean Streak! Hoping something like this happens in the near future.
  20. This excites me as I did enjoy Griffon quite a lot. Ready to see how this plays out, we still have at least a half a year until we find out if this is true or not. That's a long time for more speculation.
