New for 2006, SFEG
Jeezus Juice replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Enjoy your new Sky Swatter! -not that I know anything! -
Some old stone church on a hill overlooking the "Highest Bridge in Europe" which is somewhere in Austria between Imst and the Italian border. I was on the ECC trip "note the nametag" and we stopped there for a rest (and McDonalds). The Steak and Shake shirt was mine from home. ^ that's exactly the line of reasoning that leads to seatbelts on raft rides. 8) Zamperla didn't close all worldwide hawks when that fat lady fell out because the NASCAR dad running the place used jumpercables to bypass the safety systems did they? It sucks that adventureland has a human-flinging flat ride but there's really no reason yet to shut down all world-wide installations. I find the lack of any newsworthy autopsy reports or really any news follow-up strikingly similar to the Misson: Space incident. I just watched the Gröna Lund video. I've wanted to visit that park ever since I saw that crazy Schwarzkopf/Guersty combo. Now I can't wait to go since I found out how much fun Europe is. Don "Scandi '07" Garrison

Hey Phil! I just watched your Liseberg video and had to comment. It appears they know how to operate a raft ride. In the short clip you can clearly see at least 3 rafts fully loaded in the same area of the flume, with much joy being had by all. Contrast that with the one at SFGAm I was just at where they would only let ONE raft into the load area at a time. At this point the lift and turntable would be shut off while the guests load/unload. Once all their seatbelts were checked and everbody was reminded that shoes must be worn (on a wet ass rapids ride) then the turntable would be turned on and the raft would leave the station. Now, it is only at this point that the lift would once again be turned on to let exactly ONE raft enter the load area before repeating the same process. God why do parks have to suck sometimes? Anyway I can't wait to get out to Liseberg. Too bad it prolly won't be until '07. Cheers! -Don

Castle Park dark ride
Jeezus Juice replied to prettygrl22306's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was at the park last month, the Sally shooter is still there. Does anyone know when they removed the "Haunted Mansion" darkride from the ride park? I know it was there prior to Merlins Revenge. Was it sold to another park? Don "Castlepark rules" Garrison -
What's new for PGA in 2006?
Jeezus Juice replied to Tmcdllr's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Thats so funny I'd be laughing if it wasn't true ::sobs:: I mean people complain about people complaining about Darien Lake but come on, it's not like SFDL is actually removing coasters while adding nothing. I know its an economics thing but is the San Jose market that bad that 20yr old used waterslides from the central valley constitute capital improvements? ehh, at least they still have Top Gun and Demon, which are awesome IMO. -D -
Puyallup Fair TR
Jeezus Juice replied to Damien666's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great, I'll be there on Wednesday so I was planning on the super dizzy pass. I'm not driving all the way up there just to cheap out on the coaster pass! Glad to here they have some good flats. Thats weird that you need a partner for the mouse, I was able to solo the one at Quassy. If my camera cooperates I'll have some pictures to post when I get back. -Don "Finally going to this fair" -
Puyallup Fair TR
Jeezus Juice replied to Damien666's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Awesome! I'm making the trek up to the fair from CA this wednesday. Kookie coaster credits here I come! I hope Kersplash is up and running but honestly thats not the coaster I'm coming up for. I heard about the Huss Jump 1, can't wait. Also I read on the site that they may have a Dragon Wagon this year too. Any word? New Fair, yay! -Don -
Parks Coasters and Rides in Movies and TV
Jeezus Juice replied to spike's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I remember that AFLAC commercial with the duck on the PNE Coaster. Also that lame Sandler movie at SFMW. Also, for the record, I thought the movie 'Rollercoaster' was horrible. I don't get the ACE obsession with it. -Don -

Nice pics, EE is coming along nicely! Oh, and bonus props for the obscure Metal Gear Solid shirt. Why don't they make them simple and fun like that anymore? You hear me Konami!! -D -
I just hope they run a good program. At a 40p cap they should give you more than one full swing ::hopes:: Now about what they're going to name it...I'm going with "maXwag" What do you guys think? -D

Well, hmm....I believe Funderwoods in Lodi, CA is community owned and that place is probably the saddest park I've ever seen. I really like the Blue Streak and Conneaut Lake park in general is OK, but I haven't seen too many community owned/operated parks that have ended up well. I'm just kinda worried it'll get to the point where the park is technically open but rides are sitting around in various states of repair, waiting for "parts" to arrive. It sucks when you go to a park and just feel all depressed about the place. Williams Grove OTOH looks as if it's moments away from disaster but that park rocks. ughhh...that poor park. Does Idlewild or Kennywood have room for a medium sized, blue-tint out and back? I seriously see this park going the way of Whalom, I mean, is it really fair to ask local townsfolk to donate money to keep you buisness open? That would be like me asking people to donate funds to keep my hardware store open, they should at least have a bakesale or something. -JJ

Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread
Jeezus Juice replied to OzCatter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, maybe the next time I'm in KC I'll actually go in to the park instead of driving by in disgust. This will definately give the Jeepers in Olathe a run for its money. Don "At least Python Pit isn't braked to death!" Garrison -
The Wildest Wild Mouse
Jeezus Juice replied to SteveC's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
OMG someone else has ridden the Guerneville mouse! My dad still lives there. That thing is pretty scary, it was never formaly fixed in its position so whenever it ran the whole structure would shimmy around the parking lot. I took Monica there last year to get her credit. The wooden block brakes were pretty rotten and falling apart. It doesn't help knowing that the ride is also underwater whenever the river rises. I drive by it every other week, it's still there looking scary as it always has. Maybe I'll take some pics of it tomorrow. Oh, and wild mouse at BPB gets my vote too. -Don -

I want a girl whos about 14 inches taller than me. That way I wouldn't strain my neck anymore. Haven't met a guy here I would go gay for yet. I'm tired.
