Car trouble. Then nobody knowing what's wrong... First it was the battery, then the alternator, and now the ignition. Whatever. It'll supposedly be fixed tomorrow. *And because of nobody knowing what's wrong and just ignoring the problem, I've been stranded at the grocery store, in an undesirable location, and at home when I'm supposed to be volunteering.

Oh god I feel really stupid. I completely misread that. I thought they meant 625' tall wall. My bad. But yeah, that's not so bad now. I thought it sounded kind of stupid... but hey, what can you expect from someone proposing a park with 15 new coasters from the get-go who also pioneered another poorly thought-through park?

The Off-Season Survival Thread

YouTube (yeah, I spend free time watching coaster videos) and I've just recently gotten into cars so that should keep me good for the off-season. -
World Joyland in China
B-RadG replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm INSANELY jealous of those little Chinese people now. This is definitely an awesome layout and those inversions just look orgasmic (or as the Chinese say, 'orgiastic'.) -
I loathe online translators and I think the ones for Latin are probably the worst. Partially because there are constraints (Romans didn't have coasters or computers.) English: This is for a post on a forum. They talk about roller coasters and future additions to parks. They take trips to parks all over the world. Latin: Is est parumper stipes in a forum. They for volvo coasters quod posterus additions ut ortus. Capiunt trinus ut ortus totus super orbis terrarum. (Knowing Latin I can tell that's not anything close to what it should be) English again: This is for a short time itis upon a market place. They say to meditate upon coasters and postremo additions when birth. They take triple when birth whole over, upon the world.

Absolutely. One person came to mind when you said this. I'm gay but you wouldn't be able to tell unless you know me. I don't feel any need or see the reasoning behind acting like a total fool. I don't like flamboyant gay guys at all, they annoy me. There's one guy that goes to my school that is completely gay and constantly tells me I wish I was as fabulous as he is and he feels the need to be loud and scream stuff like "OMG!" So yeah. It annoys me. He claims he's straight.

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
B-RadG replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was wearing a Cedar Point shirt at school the other day and someone said, "Cedar Point... isn't that the place with Mantis? Isn't Mantis the tallest and fastest coaster ever?" And I checked the KD page on Facebook a few minutes ago and found this little doozy... -
Afterburn and Montu are the only inverted coasters to have Batwings, yes. Wingover is B&M's fancy word for a Corkscrew. Same thing but B&Ms tend to have a gradual banking change leading into it and then a quick snap over the top and gradual change out of it. I went back in April and the park was great. The operations could have been a lot better (especially for a Busch park) but it was still above average. Gwazi is a really good coaster it's just forgotten about due to the roughness. PTCs aren't meant to run on those kinds of layouts. Anyhow, ride it first thing in the morning. It's closest to the entrance and smoother by a long shot in the morning. My organs hated me after riding in the afternoon. Kumba is easily one of my favorite B&Ms and my favorite looping coaster. It was just as smooth as a modern B&M and thrice as forceful. The lack of trims/a MCBR that takes off speed makes it so great. Montu was great except for the fact that when I rode the trim was taking off too much speed for the Batwing to be forceful and the MCBR was slowing it down to a very slow pace, making the second half drag on forever slowly. Scorpion was nothing special at all. It shuffled a lot and had a meh layout. For its size it's pretty intense but it's nothing to write home about. SheiKra was really average. Nothing stood out and it shuffled a LOT. It's a shame though, because I adore Griffon.

A Close Look at the Forgotten Intamin Standup
B-RadG replied to odene497's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yuck that looks like it's in horrible condition. I can imagine that after sitting out in the open in New York's crappy weather for years it's not gonna be so easy to get up and running. I'm not sure if it'd even be worth the trouble/expense anymore. Awesome pictures, though. Rarely can you ever get that close to the track... without getting hit that is. -
Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

I also went yesterday (but had to leave at 7:15. No time for mazes ) and during the day it was freaking crowded! Anaconda x3 Intimidator 305 x1 Shockwave x1 Hurler x1 Grizzly x1 Drop Tower x1 Anaconda's line was spilling out into the midway but the crews were actually managing to get the train out of the station before the other one stopped on the brakes. It took about 20 minutes. I rode Intimidator early so the line was only about 20 minutes. Shockwave wouldn't have been so long if people understood that you have to STAND on a stand up coaster. 35 minutes. Hurler was running one train with an extremely unenthusiastic crew. The wait was out to the tunnel underneath the lift and it was using the switchbacks in the station. 30 minutes. Drop Tower was using all the seats (for once) and the line was using all switchbacks and extended out to the Drop Tower sign. I wasn't expecting it to be 45 minutes. The only advantage to this was that Slaughterhouse's exit is right next to Drop Tower's queue so you got to see the guy with the chainsaw come barreling out after screaming people. Grizzly's queue was out to the part where the exit ramp and queue ramp meet. They were running two trains and were pretty good. 25 minutes. I wanted to ride Volcano but the line was using both of the sets of switchbacks in the mountain and was backed out of the entrance. Not worth waiting that long. Dominator's line was out to Berserker. So I'd advise that unless you enjoy waiting in line, don't go on a Saturday. -
New sexy LSMs all over the place?
B-RadG replied to aceospades1250's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's the reason that Maverick, iSpeed, Sky Rocket, etc have so much crap underneath the trains. Small LSMs on the track, huge fins on the bottom of the train that run along both sides of the LSMs. -

Christ on a bike I wish I was Italian -
So today in Algebra we had this worksheet and one of the questions was like- "ROLLER COASTERS One of the world's fastest roller coasters is located in a theme park in Valencia, California. Riders go from 0 to 100 miles per hour in 7 seconds. Find the acceleration blahblahblahblah." Anyhow, just reading that made me have a major nerdgasm and I figured I'd share. Awesome to hear that not only is Superman getting some love, but the fact that they're also adding that epic little ZacSpin.

Nobody ever honked. We held that stupid sign up in the window all 6 hours. I'm so awesome that I talked on a phone covered in heart stickers. My friends paid for me to be in jail for 10 minutes and to be attacked with cold water all of those 10 minutes.

S&S Sansei Discussion Thread
B-RadG replied to Coaster Joe's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nah it's more of a braindead Premier prototype that S&S added epicness to. Anyhow I'd love for S&S to bring back Arrow's designs with some newer features. Arrow fanboys represeeent! -
It has an engine on it that slowly creeps its way along the track. I'm pretty sure on the TV show that featured it they went into details, but I'm sure it has some kind of safety mechanism to keep it from becoming the world's smallest roller coaster train. The wheels grip the track tightly and the small motor pushes it along. It takes approximately two hours for the B&M Ball to make it all the way around Dominator's course.

Why do wooden coasters have seat dividers?
B-RadG replied to vrf19977's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Lol...Some may like that idea....not that there's anything wrong with that of course. I don't think they really make much of a difference unless your a single rider. I mean that's a typical Saturday night for me and all but it's a mild annoyance to think you're totally fine and then boom. Seat divider up the butt. Anyhow, have y'all noticed how not all PTCs are created equal? On some of them my butt is like crammed between the seat divider and the side and on some I have plenty of room. -

B-RadG replied to vrf19977's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A train with buzzbars shouldn't have seat dividers. Period. Airtime will slam you back down on the seat divider if there's nobody next to you. That = anal rape. -
Photo TR: Hanno joins the Middle America Trip
B-RadG replied to Hhappy's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
The holes in the track on Patriot are where a trim used to be located. The holes are where the mechanics of the brake would have been held. They're put there because the track B&M uses for brake runs is more expensive and unnecessary to make for just a trim. Awesome pictures of Prowler -
Big Bad Wolf cracked its footers and they aren't in outstanding quality after 25 years of abuse from a Suspended coaster. More than likely they'd pour new footers for a new coasters, but it's hard to dig up something that's underwater/on the side of a hill because you can't get the big machines needed to swim.

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
B-RadG replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Alpengeist is really inconsistent. Some days it's smooth as a B&M should be and some days it's rather rough. Overall I still much prefer Alpengeist to Volcano, it's more intense, smoother, and lasts longer.
