  1. Oh mighty title fairy of Donkeyland... may I have a title pertaining to- I'm overly obsessed with Arrow coasters. I have a Facebook fan page for Ron Toomer. I love Wicked.
  2. Next up- add more brakes to Wild Thing's brake run so that it doesn't stop with just 4 brakes at the end of that long flat stretch of track perfect for a smooth stop
  3. Today was an absolutely epic day. Ride Count- Intimidator 305 x8 Anaconda x2 Rebel Yell x1 Grizzly x1 I got my pass processed and waited to get into the park and once in I waited in the area between Ghoster Coaster and Dominator. I ran into one guy who said he'd ridden Mean Streak over 600 times in one season. I called him crazy. At 10:30 they let us go back... and it was the definition of human stampede. I finally got to line and waited 15 minutes for an almost full queue. The line REALLY moves. Once I got on I wasn't scared at all, like I had expected to be. The lift moves way too fast to even think that you're going up 305 feet. At the top it slows for a second then it's freefall. Which is more epic than Fahrenheit's first drop. Going around the first turn I blacked out totally until we got to the top of the second hill. At the top of the second hill you get massive airtime, then in that odd transition after it you get airtime, which honestly shocked me. Over all of the transitions you got a substantial pop of airtime. The trim on the third hill isn't terribly bad, but it's definitely needed. I got really close to blacking out every time on the turn before the third hill. Not to mention that very last quick banking change will hit your neck if you're on the right side of the train. The brakes were MUCH more gentle than other Intamin brakes. The left side seems much smoother. No words can begin to describe the epicness of Intimidator 305. 15/10. New number one. No I'm not a KD Fanboy. Shocking, right? Even when the line was backed out of the queue, it was never over 30 minutes. Anaconda was 45 minutes, Grizzly was an hour, and Rebel Yell was 30 minutes. Grizzly was only running one train and it sucked balls, so it was an hour wasted. Dominator was missing a train, 2 were on the ride and none were in the maintenance shop. Anyone know more? Hurler (obviously), Log Flume, and Shockwave were closed all day. Backlot now runs the same color cars on each train (i.e. red train, blue train, white train) and the doors are no longer on the sides. Thanks Cedar Fair. So yeah overall it was an amazing day. Kudos to you if you bothered to read those 362 words. Now for pictures. No that's not the sun. That's a coaster god ordering me to bow down to the Intamin sexiness. Airtime hill... OVER A FENCE! That's a new one, b!thces! Train shots are really hard to get if you have a slow camera like mine. Hooray for grass. Mighty fine generator you got there, mister. Park Index love. It really is a sexy ride. So I'm gonna assume it's that of the male gender. Dale's car and all his wins. The big man himself. More Park Index love. You can get some epic shots of Anaconda from back here. These people all need to change their pants... because they all just orgasmed all over themselves. It's that epic. Whoooooosh. It's really quiet. It just makes a really loud WHOOSH when the train flies by. Believe it or not this line was only 30 minutes. The shade tents and mist fans really really help. It was 85 today. Irony. You're all about to be flung into oblivion. Yes the airtime is so powerful it sends you over to Alton Towers. If this were an Arrow... Station ass. Time to bow again Over the fence shots are my new specialty. No hidden Mickey I heard form the Dippin Dots guy's grandmother's best friend's cousin that Disney sued Cedar Fair and Intamin had to change the design. Facts about Earnhardt. And some more Park Index love. Way to go, Cedar Fair. They only painted the brake run and the turn before the station. I kid you not. Anaconda's all like "LOOK AT ME!" "Yeah, we painted it!.......... part of it." See any bare steel? I really love Anaconda's setting. These people were in the station 10 seconds ago. Intimidator 305 with a train through the trees. Does this even need a caption? 3 lifts at once. That's masterful right there. Misbehaved ops are put in time out here. Americana. As much as I love Arrow I will not ride even a ferris wheel of theirs. Ricochet... with me having a lack of creative captions. Grizzly. You wasted an hour of my life and only ran one train. Thanks. HAHAHAHAHA YOU'RE DEAD! "And here comes the number 3 car in the lead!" Gotta love creative spiels. There are Intamin tags on the wheels. Like legitimate little... plaque thingeys that I don't know what to call on the wheels. Cool little operator's booth. Somehow I doubt the woman in there produced that "GENTLEMEN! START YOUR ENGINES!" but hey you never know. Over the station shot. Boom. Owned. Catch car coming back. The lift kicks in fast enough to be considered a launch credit by Jeff Johnson There are some serious headchoppers. OMGOMGOMG AIRTIME. This is surprisingly really smooth. It's a really sharp jerk but you stay in place. Finishing in first place... of everyone's Top 10, that is. You can tell a train is coming when the catwalk starts making a ton of noise. The coaster gods make you bow once more before you leave the ride to see your picture. Once again Intimidator 305 is amazing. That cannot be said enough. And that's it. Thanks for reading. Comments are very appreciated.
  4. I just got home. It's safe to say Intimidator 305 is the best coaster I've been on. Not to mention the most intense. I blacked out for the entire first turn and didn't regain sight until the top of the second hill. PTR soon.
  5. 9/20. Holy hell I don't know squat about flats
  6. I'm definitely going. Early to nerd out and get my pass processed. 3 days
  7. I'm not sure that POV even does justice. The airtime over those hills that everyone bitched and moaned about looks epic. The transitions that everyone is fretting about with the OTSRs also look amazingly smooth. On Maverick POVs you can see how it's a quick jerk but it seems more gentle on Intimidator 305. 4 days
  8. Amazing Intimidator seems to be pretty epic theming-wise for a Cedar Fair coaster. Why does Cedar Fair insist on painting coasters orange with yellow inversions?
  9. I will be there all day April 2nd, and hopefully I'll have my Club TPR shirt by then. I just realized that there's less than a week until this monster opens.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/IHeartArrowDynamics 5 lame videos. That'll change after Spring Break, I hope.
  11. Cylon, the Invert side. Glad it happened during testing if the seat actually did fall off the train. That'd be... bad. For USS and Vekoma.
  12. Holy shit that first drop is absolutely amazing
  13. ^Nice attempt with a comment And no it's a fun ride they just have no sense of moving a crowd. It took about 5 minutes to load and start the ride.
  14. So yesterday I went down to Busch Gardens Williamsburg for the Passholder Preview Day. Since it was a passholder-exclusive event, I figured that there wouldn't be a huge crowd... WRONG. The lines weren't bad at all, but the park was rather crowded. I stayed from 10-5:30 and overall it was a really good day. Loch Ness Monster was looking really spiffy with her fresh paint and was running faster than usual. The trim wasn't grabbing as much and the MCBR was scraping twice. The front car would make it up to the beginning of the crest of the second lift before it had to be carried. I personally didn't believe the 5-1 myth (Anaconda raped my soul when I tried it last time) and I tried it on Loch Ness Monster and it was perfect, coincidence? Alpengeist was not quite as forceful as usual. The trim at the top of the lift was practically stopping it and the MCBR knocked it down to a slow roll. I guess this was a blessing because Alpengeist was shuffling pretty badly, but a fun ride nonetheless. Apollo's Chariot was amazing as usual. I don't know why people complain about B&M Hypers lacking airtime... either they haven't ridden Apollo's Chariot or I haven't ridden whatever they've ridden to give them an idea of airtime. In line for Apollo's Chariot I happened to run into Carolinacaniac by asking about his awesome Raptor tattoo, it was nice to meet someone who's an enthusiast for once. Griffon was smooth and fun like it always is, but it was only running 2 trains (the third was out for maintenance) and it had a 30 minute wait, hence my single ride on it. The Highland Stables were really nice looking, and Blackstone has done a few little things that are nice touches. Ride Count- Loch Ness Monster x10 Apollo's Chariot x5 Alpengeist x3 Griffon x1 Le Scoot x1 Pictures! What a sight to be greeted with, and the lines were like this all day for the most part. Yes, I'm a dork. Yes, I got weird looks from everyone (failed attempt at getting the Arrow tags on the wheels) Is that the clench-and-squish method I see in the front seat? Why yes, it is. Yay for fresh paint. Yay for Arrows. Boo for Loch Ness Monster cracking my phone's screen a second time. Running on upstops! Enjoying their voyage to the sun on the wings of... the wrong coaster. 2 and 7 contradict each other. And isn't it ensure? Random Busch Gardens prettyness #1 I reaaaallly like this one for some reason. Last shot of Loch Ness Monster, I promise! THESE are the people that are enjoying their voyage to the sun on the wings of Apollo's Chariot. AutoFocus owned... but... on what? Yeah I'm not gonna post the rest that AutoFocus screwed up. Missed the train by a second. Something shiny caught my eye and made me wander away before the next train came by. Lift hill porn for those of you that are into that stuff. These people probably reported me to security because I took 4 pictures of their train. Tradewind was... trading winds? Random swan! Battering Ram's op was bent on giving himself a headache by making each side scream when they went in the air. Random Busch Gardens prettyness #2 If pictures had sound, your eardrums would have imploded by now. Being rocked by DaVinci's Cradle's insanely slow operations. "What are you doing?! Get away, you pervert!" Walking through Italy is like... well... walking through Italy. Teatrio De San Marco lookin spiffy. This was a tragic thing to see. My favorite part. Thanks for the 10 years of rides I got from you. "Sure, paint them green. They'll blend right in!" RIP Die Wildkatze concrete slab. I would LOVE to wait in this line again. How creative. Sarcasm noted. Der Katapult. I can't think of anything catchy. Festhaus. That just sounds so German... Festhaus... it's fun to say. Try it. Curse of DarKastle. I don't like you. I see a B&M! It's hard not to, though... they're all almost/over 200 feet tall. Boo for twisting drops. Seriously what is the point of the stuff surrounding the track? There are no wave pools around so it's not to catch wheels Runaway ski lifts don't make ear-shattering noise, to my knowledge. Ghost of the Alps. Nobody has this shot, I'm sure of it! Me... and the giant booty of the op. Le Scoot... Le Soaked my left side. It's Griffon! It's Griffon!... through the trees with a train! It's that turn after the splashdown through the trees... yeah whatever I ran out of captions. Loch Ness Monster... THROUGH THE GRIFFON! MUAHAHA. Yes another through the trees shot. Yep it's only running 2 trains... The op was awesome though. "We have a few seconds for spacing, so my name is Auttum. How many people here are riding for the first time? How old are you? Awesome you're our second nine year old on here for the first time! Block clear, clear train, enjoy your ride on the Griffon." (yes taunt me for being a nerd) The big bad wolf still exists! He just lives in a different place... yeah I know that's a sick joke. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... they were walking the sheep around the parking lot later in the day. On little leashes. How cute. And I shall leave you with this. The video is still processing but if you're lucky it'll work by the time you're finished reading.
  15. I signed up earlier this afternoon and still haven't received my email. Just curious as to why not. Thanks
  16. First Park- Busch Gardens Williamsburg First Coaster- Loch Ness Monster First New Park- Six Flags America or Kennywood First New Coaster- Intimidator 305
  17. I can't imagine even trying to get out of B&M's Hyper seats. On Apollo's Chariot, even when I was younger/coaster-retarded, I felt safe. Now that I've found out the joy of airtime I've managed to get by with making myself look fat when the operator comes by so that they don't staple me and I have that lovely one click too high restraint.
  18. 16/20. Didn't embarrass myself too badly.

Vekomas
  20. Being a klutz one of the big ones for me is basketballs, just this summer one clown let it roll around and of course I tripped over it. I think the biggest one for me would be bad operators. For example on Loch Ness Monster (it shocked me that it happened at Busch Gardens) the person who was at the control panel (who, keep in mind, was a supervisor) would let the spiel play 2 words then start it over and keep doing this about 20 times. Then he'd just keep pressing/letting go of Dispatch while the train was leaving. Then again, on most days, Loch Ness Monster has one of the best crews.
  21. ^Actually Ninja sports white supports and Big Bad Wolf's were black.
  22. Mainly what happened is that Schwarzkopf designed Big Bad Wolf, poured the footers, provided some supports, and went bankrupt. Then Arrow had to find a way to design it to fit the supports and footers. Schwarzkopf Alpenflug was the name of the model it was supposed to be, and if I'm correct Schwarzkopf called it a "Flying" coaster not a Suspended coaster.
  23. Burn down Thunderhawk at Dorney. Stretch out the quick snap into Alpengeist's MCBR just a litttttle more. Fix Dominator's loop so that it's welded right and doesn't womp your head a few seconds into the loop. Get rid of the trim before Loch Ness Monster's first loop.
  24. B&M doesn't put anything on their coasters, not even the wheels. Or at least not on Apollo's Chariot, Alpengeist, or Griffon. Shockwave at KD also has a "Ride Info" plaque in the station saying all the stats and maker. I think the nerdiest thing I've done would be going on the behind the scenes tour at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Which is awesome.
  25. Loch Ness Monster. It beats the crap out of Sooperdooperlooper in intensity (yes even with the circle loop) It's really smooth for an Arrow, and the back has some of the best airtime of any coaster. The interlocking loops provide a nice headchopper. Even with the trim that first loop still pulls a lotta Gs. The layout may not be that creative but it's still fun to ride over and over and over.
