I wouldn't say creepy just because there are a lot of lights for Starlight Spectacular, but it definitely looks like a place that would house a great scare zone. It's very atmospheric and there are a lot of props that could be used in a Ghost Town or Phantoms of the Frontier style zone. It doesn't hurt that at night the area seems almost deserted. -

A bit of an odd list. I definitely would have put Maverick up against X2, and given Maverick the win, but it was something to read I suppose. -

I'm assuming that you just happened to had been in a car that hasn't been fixed properly. It is seriously hard for me to see Mt. Olympus TR's and not become cynical because I truly think this is the worst amusement park in the country when it comes to service and safety. I can't think of a visit I've had there where I didn't see or hear something appalling in terms of service or safety. I haven't been to the park since 2009 (and honestly have no desire to return)....and I'm shocked that there hasn't been a death or serious accident to make the news since my initial visit in 2005. Oh and I believe general admission is somewhere around $50 as well....NUTS!!! However, despite everything I just said, I'm glad you had a positive experience I think the opposite is true with your last statement. I've found it incredibly cheap to get in, whether or not you are staying at one of their hotels (free if you are). They just ran a special for the last two weeks for Free Waterpark Admission. If I remember right, it's only an additional $10 to add the theme park on. The rest I can agree with though. -

Zippin' Pippin is a great little rebuild. I have to imagine Wooden Warrior provides a pretty similar experience. Small and short, but very sweet! -

See, charging the group rate of $30 per person plus another $5 to walk through the actual exhibit absolutely will not draw any school field trips. Plus schools usually like to stay at the park until 4-6 o'clock which really messes with bus schedules and is a pain for parents. Almost all schools save their VF visit for the last day of the year as an incentive for students, and this will draw them for another visit. They make much more revenue offering the $8 standalone DA ticket for school groups, than without it. -

Seems you had a typical day at Mt. O. The park looks pretty good, but definitely under delivers. And yes, that is the SCAD Tower where the accident happened. -

I'm sure it will have dual entrances, one inside and one out, i.e. one for park guests and one that school groups can use without paying for admission. -

So this news just broke: Source: http://www.shakopeenews.com/news/general_news/dinosaur-exhibit-new-valleyfair-attraction-in/article_e8bbda15-e300-54a8-bdc4-e35cd49649b3.html Sad to officially hear that the Mini Golf is on it's way out, but the Picnic Area will be a welcome addition. They are currently using two facilities, one outside the park and another near the waterpark. This will allow them to expand the waterpark and hopefully expand the park on the Minnesota River (North) side. -

I suppose the fact that everything was like a dollar didn't hurt, but I digress. -

I obviously know the park is not meant for me, but when I go to a park and spend my good money I at least expect enjoyable rides, a clean park, and a ride op to be there to take a ticket at each open ride. We walked up to the Haunted House and waited for a ride op to appear while we were watched by the Scrambler operators. God forbid one of the three ops running that ride could have helped us out. Now though I didn't have the best experience at the park I still happily paid my money, rode their coasters and went on my way. I don't ever plan on being in that area again so I probably won't have any reason. I'm not mad at the park by any means, I just can't understand why locals would pay their money to ride any of the parks roller coasters. None of them are thrilling, and 3/4 were more than uncomfortable. Just offering my two cents on the park and at the same time wondering how they manage to draw in a crowd. To the OP, I don't mean to hijack your thread, but there really isn't another place to discuss the park. I'd love to hear if you had any similar thoughts. -

Holiday World, BGT, BGW, and all of the Cedar Fair parks have apps. Not sure if they all work for Android though. -

Apps for both. (Android or Apple) Can't tell if you misread the question, or...?
