During the last press conference, in the presentation materials they listed Fast Lane as coming to all parks. Who knows if they mean this year. -

Always great to see another K'NEX coaster on the boards! Hoping to see the project done through to the end. -
~Wow! That's gonna be quite the undertaking to do the entire queue. Will that include a miniature Ray tank, too? Really looking forward to seeing the finished product now. ~As far as the train position goes, I agree with the placement near the Pretzel Loop, and if you can't fit the train in the Splashdown, maybe in the aforementioned Wall Climb? That would look really great!

Help plan SFStL, HW, WoF, SFGAm trip
triggernel replied to megametal's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hit up all of these parks last, so here's my take: At Holiday World, if you get in the waterpark at a decent time, you should be able to hit up more then just the tho big slides, it all depends on how much you like waterslides. During the time that the waterpark is open, the coasters' lines will be considerably shorter. For me, SFStL is the most meh park of the bunch. The park is missing that one standout attraction, but for me The Boss and BTR top the rides they do have. This park will definitely not take all day, and I'd even recommend going to the City Museum for the night. Might be a long day, but doable for sure. World's of Fun really shocked me. It really is a quite beautiful park. Prowler is a great GCI and Mamba and Patriot complete the big three. Don't miss Cyclone Sam's and FInnish Fling, two great classics. Nightime don't miss attractions include Prowler, Starlight Spectacular, and the TRAIN. Seriously, do not miss the train!!! Overall a very charming park, especially for a Cedar Fair park. Like some have said, SDC would be a good alternative for WoF, not because it's a bad park, just that SDC is that good. I'd put it right up there with HW. SFGAm to me, is an inbetweener park, not quite big enough for two full days in the park alone, but more then enough for one day. With Fastpass, I've been able to get 2-3 rides on all the big coasters, plus a few flats in 8 hours. If you do get the Flashpass, you should have some extra time to check out the waterpark which is excellent. Make sure to check out the drop door slides. Good luck on your trip, you should have an excellent time. -

I'm gonna say that your time down there will be extremely busy. Touring Plans has each of those days at a 9 or 10 out of 10 on the crowd calendar. EXPECT Crowds! And Obama didn't ride any rides while he was in town yesterday. As a matter of fact they were broadcasting his speech inside The Hall of Presidents. -
Hey Dude, good to see you back at it. This has been one of my favorite TPR threads, and this is definitely your best model to date. Suggestions/Questions: ~Are you planning on adding some of the scenery and painting the board upon completion? Would LOVE to see the track actually scale up the rock after the splash down. ~How many trains are you making? I think it would be awesome (but obviously difficult) to put a few trains out on the course. Keep up the great work, and I can't wait to see what you have for us next!

I think you may be a bit off base with your "Open to the public" statement, at least currently. Nowadays the only way to get down there is through one of Disney's Guided Tours, or sneaking into them. Technically the "Utiladors" were built on ground level, with the park being built up on the "second level" Really fascinating stuff. -

Yes there are actual physical figures underneath the rid track that do the dancing. This may help: http://www.doombuggies.com/secrets_ballroom.php -

This is called the Peppers Ghost effect, which Disney Imagineers got from magicians of the 20's. It works very similar to how you described, with the actual figures located underneath the riders. -

Legoland Florida Discussion Thread

I don't really see a lot of the justification here. Face it, if any of you were stuck waiting an hour in line for food, I'm not sure any of you would still be thinking to yourselves, "this is great for the park, I'm so happy its this busy." Throw in my 5 year old sister, and you've got a whole other story. -
I also took my first trip to USO in a while this past week. Went to the Studios last Wednesday. The only lines the entire day were a 10 minute wait for ET and HRRR with a 5 minute wait. IOA this Monday was something else. Early showers and lingering sprinkles literally left the park dead. There were absolutely no lines at all. We walked onto every ride, except the Seuss Trolley which seemed to have half the park in its queue. Even Pteradon's were a walk-on. Potter had zero line later in the day, and our last ride even broke down for around 10 minutes before we continued for 30 seconds with the lights on. Greeat trip, and we made sure to get a half dozen Jaws rides in. RIP
