  1. I had the same thing happen to me during an ACE event a couple years ago, cresting the first turn around, the airtime was insane. Had my seatbelt nice and tight but man was I scared. Also, Hurler at KD. Seems to be a trend on this ride.
  2. Delaware, ehhh, maybe, depending on where you live SFA is 2 hours. As for Maryland, if you live in the west you go Kennywood, central and east, you got SFA, KD, HP, BGW, and SFGAdv, (SFGAdv and BGW are both exactly 3 hours from where I live, Germantown, I don't find that to long of a drive honestly). Maryland does NOT need an amusement park, SFA just needs to gets it's act together. Phoenix? I don't see why not, year round operation, plenty of people in the area, easy (and probably cheap) land.
  3. Yeah they need to work on that. Every one of my friends refuses to go to SFA because they all think the park is "Ghetto and run-down." They all travel the extra distance to go to HP, KD, and BGW, even though SFA is about 30 minutes away while all the others are 2+ hours away. Once a year I always convince them to go because it isn't THAT bad, and the coaster selection is descent when they are running.
  4. I thought they made the queue a little...short. But I guess they were right. But really though, KD is always dead the first couple months. Beginning this weekend I bet it'll be packed through the summer. Even more when school gets out. We will see...
  5. I305 opening day for sure. Not sure what else though.
  6. So far I like for the most part. A couple problems so far, minor, but annoying. -touchpad isn't scrolling -wants me to change my wireless radio signal from 802.11b to 802.11a to sync my xbox to windows media center -function button (Fn on certain computers) is not working. other than that it looks and runs wonderfully.
  7. And do you think that I really need 1 day for a visit to Six Flags America. I want to visit the park during the day and in the afternoon/evening I want to drive to the hotel in Richmond. One day at Six Flags America will be fine. In terms of DC. I have lived here for 5 years and still haven' seen all of what DC has to offer. All the museums on the national mall are free as long as they are Smithsonian. If you wanted to visit them all. I would say 2 - 3 days if you're the kind of person that likes to linger and read lots of things. If your more of a look and move on then 1-2. Also, I HIGHLY recommend going to the Spy Museum. It is a little pricey but its well worth the money. They have different packages starting at $25 I think. The Air and Space museum located at Dulles is I thought better than the one on the mall. But both are worth visiting. Although, getting there can be a hassle because the Metro doesn't go all the way out to Dulles so you would need to take a shuttle bus or taxi. If you want to go up in the he Washington monument I believe you have to arrive early in the morning to get tickets because they only give out a limited number of tickets per day. I gotta run to work but I'll help you out some more when I get home.
  8. Not necessarily true. GCI announced that they would put MF's on any wooden coaster as long they could more than likely retrack the coaster and it didn't mess up the forces. http://www.greatcoasters.com/?p=trains Somewhat of an example, Wildcat at HP. It was already a GCI coaster but it used to have PTC trains. The change made a slight improvement in terms of ride ability. I usually ride it 3-4 times a visit now versus once in a couple visits with the old trains. The camera is still in a lame spot still.
  9. See, I think SFA finally realized that they were just getting tweens and not many families. A lot of my friends refuse to go to SFA with families because the general crowd that lingers there. I think this new Thomas Town is SFA's attempt to get back on the map with the families as well as compete with KD's "new" Planet Snoopy. But then again, KD is getting I305 as well so, yeah...
  10. Yeah I've thought a lot about that too. The animation just doesn't look like the physics are right. I mean, that second hill is half the size of the first one. There's no way that hill won't deliver some intense airtime.
  11. Haha, one by one each and every Vekoma Invertigo model will slowly break down and disappear off the face of the earth...FOREVER!!! Ok no, but really? First Hangover (relocated, okay yeah, but still!), then 2Face, why are these models so much more inefficient then regular boomerangs.?
  12. I went on Wednesday, it was GREAT. Volcano's line never reached out of the entrance to the volcano, everything was a walk on all day. Maybe 200-300 cars in the parking lot if that. Construction on I305 was pretty much the same, a couple more supports up, and it looked like they were starting to put together the giant crane as we were leaving. Thank you KD for keeping open a week after school starts.
  13. I like to scream. Not obnoxious, more of a yell. It's fun. The only thing I can't stand is the high pitched, ears bleeding, COMPLETELY unnecessary scream that little tweens do. It kills the entire ride. Even on Arrow and/or Vekoma, my ear drums are hurting more than my brain is. Oh, and I do lots of little Wheeeeeeees and Ohhhhhhsss
  14. While the ADHD does get to me when I'm waiting, I still wait. It's not THAT bad. I do buy Flash Pass whenever economically possible though.
  15. Well someone is a cranky pants. But really, no matter how much you complain about the complainers, they're still going to....COMPLAIN! My two cents. Anywho, you guys have to be right, that extra cash has got to go to themeing. The description of the ride talks about it some but the animation doesn't really show, any.
  16. I have a 2001 Jetta ...I friggin hate it. Despite their semi-luxary class that they produce, their cars in general SUCK. All the electronics (window buttons, cd player, tape player, a/c outlet) are broken. The bottom of the bumper is falling off because its plastic and the hooks are stripped. I've never been in a car accident, been pulled over, or gotten any type of ticket, EVER. I'm a very safe driver, (but not the a-hole going 50 in the left lane on the highway kind of safe driver) so I don't know how or why the hooks are stripped. I change the oil regularly and take it to get serviced regularly and so far I've spent $6,500 on a car that I paid $7,000 to get in a total of 1 year. When I bought the car, everything worked. Next car is coming from Japan for sure.
  17. Destiny's Child Bill Clinton The Hush Sound Fall Out Boy Thats all I can think of now, I have really bad memory, lol.
  18. Haha, WOW. Possibly one of only a couple videos where I stopped everyone around me and said. YO! Check this out! Funny stuff
  19. Looks like the next generation log flume. We'll probably see more of these or parks replacing out dated log flumes with these. CP already did. But we shall see. For all we know it could completely suck!
  20. Unfortunately no. But. Somewhat similar-ish. Something failed on 2Face (R.I.P.) anywho, the station brakes never came on until about 2-3 minutes of rocking back and fourth between the boomerang and the station lift. It was pretty fun, until the brakes did decide to stop us, very QUICKLY.
  21. Absolutely no attention span...check. One concerta...check Cut the lines because you have ADHD...priceless. Yes I have ADHD but no I would not consider it a disability. All I have to say is LOL. I wish.
  22. I mean, I don't LOVE the Intamin OTSR's, but I would much rather prefer a El Toro/Bizzaro lap bar. Has anyone ever thought of this... Take the newer generation Intamin OTSR's and basically take the shoulder bars off, leaving just the bar that touches your lap that you pull over your head. Does this make any sense at all? Would it still be safe? From what I remember the shoulder bar thingy was kind of useless, as in if it isn't really needed. Anyone? Just a thought
  23. Most likely because there is no MCBR. You might also think "MF has no MCBR" but what it does have that I305 won't have is the double stations. That allows one train in the first station, one train in the second station, and one train on the brake run.
  24. Hmm... I'm not sure what I think yet. I like 300 feet I hate the name I like high speed turns I hate the OTSR's I like 85 degrees I hate the color Just hmm... This could be good, or it could go terribly wrong. But I'm leaning towards good. All I know is that if the transitions are anything like Maverick, I'll probably only ride it once. My neck was so bruised the next day after riding Maverick. We shall see.
