  1. ^ Thanks a lot! Anyways, onto the next area. It's a smaller update this time. Here's the entrance to Castaway and a view of the hills with the most airtime on the ride. The most recent addition to the land is Castaway, a GCI woodie. The ride features many high speed turns and a station fly-by. Here's the area's first roller coaster, Typhoon. This Intamin coaster remains a big crowd pleaser and constantly battles with another coaster (to be shown later) for the biggest Guest Favorite. Note that the ride just came out of a breakdown, hence the completely empty train. Here's an overview of the area just west of the entrance, Shipwreck Shores. It was the first area to be added after the park's opening. (If you look at the bottom right corner, you can see a sneak peek of the next land).
  2. The scenery is the best I've seen in No Limits. It's a beautiful coaster.
  3. Most of the time, I yell "YEAH!" with an occaisional "Whoa!" or "Oh My God!" if something is more intense than I think it will be (There were a pot of those on Maverick, believe me). On rough coasters, and specifically Iron Wolf, it was pretty much the Manhattan Express video. I was swearing the whole ride while my friend next to me cracked up laughing. There was even a "why the **** was that the smoothest part of the ride" moment during the corkscrew, and that was before I had seen the video.
  4. I didn't want too many pictures in one post, so on to the next two areas. These next two areas are the remaining two areas that existed when the park first opened. All of the areas after the original four are more elaborately themed. Here's the park's log flume, "Lumberjack Falls" (I think that's its name). It's a rather long log flume. Here's another overview of the area, showing off the coaster, "Woodland Wanderer". It's actually pretty intense, so it's more of a family coaster than a kiddie coaster. Here's the signature attraction of the area: Niagara Rapids. The ride culminates in a drop down a replica of the falls. Here's an overview of the park's classic wooden coaster, "Old Glory". This oldie still packs plenty of airtime! This screenshot also shows an overview of the "Niagara Falls" section of the park. Here's another example of an Amusement park classic: The midway. This part of "Americana" features such classics like the Scrambler and the Ferris Wheel. This part is also going to go under renovation soon. Here's an overview of the lake and the entire section. The next area of the park, just north of "New York, New York" and "DC Comics City" is "Americana", a patriotic area with more traditional theme park rides. Just off the coast of Lake America is the flower bed.
  5. That was actually my first reaction to the sign. Apparently, there's two parks in the world where people need a sign to be reminded where they are: Kings Island and Epcot (thank God the second one's gone).
  6. For me, it was Top Thrill Dragster on June 11th, 2008. I learned that trying to smile into a camera being launched at 120 mph with a giant flash in my face is rather hard to do.
  7. I started this park last year I believe after going to Six Flags Great America in May. After visiting the park, I decided I wanted to make an RCT2 Six Flags park. I picked a random state and threw the words Six Flags in front of it without thinking about how many other Six Flags parks were in the region. Eventually, I will come up with a different name for the park as soon as I redo the entrance plaza. As the topic description points out, this park was done with no custom scenery or trainers. I tend not to use custom scenery as my copy of RCT tends to act funny with custom scenery (every time I make a scenerio with custom supports and then I actually start my park, the custom supports scenery has completely disappeared). Although I have a trainer, I did not use it on this park. I used an old flatland scenerio my brother made. Unfortunately, he forgot to finish the buildings at the front of the park, deciding he would finish them later, not realizing that they were outside park property. I will probably fix/destroy those buildings in the future by converting the park into a scenerio, going into the editor, destroying the buildings, then saving over it. Anyways, on to the first set of screenshots. I will post a download link later if enough people are interested. One of the newer attractions in the area is Gotham Attack, a dark ride through the streets of Gotham as some of Batman's foes all launch an assault on Gotham at the same time. More pictures coming soon! After the opening, the ride becomes a completely different animal, turning and diving into a tunnel leading to an Immelman. The ride features 5 inversions. The first part of the ride is similar to the original B:TR, but on a bigger scale. Riders drop about 120 feet into a tall vertical loop before entering a heartline twist. Here's the star of the area, "Batman Knight Flight". This intense B&M invert replaced an older "Batman: The Ride" clone. This area of the park has undergone a few changes. The roto-drop, "Superman Krypton Khaos", replaced a rather unpopular Top Spin attraction. DC Comics City is home to many attractions, including the park's observation tower. Here's an overview of the second area just to the right of the Carousel, "DC Comics City". It was one of the four original areas when the park was built. Here's the park's centerpiece, the Grand Carousel. Here's the other side of the street. It's rather plain looking. Here's the first area of the park, "New York, New York". This area is (obviously) the oldest area in the park, and will probably go through a renovation in the near future. Here's the entrance plaza and the park's sign. At the bottom left are those pesky unfinished buildings.
  8. *Gets out pen and paper and starts taking notes* Ok, thanks for the suggestions. I've been using them on more recent coasters I'm trying to do. The reason why the track lacked lead-ins/outs is that my biggest flaw is making smooth entries into turns from straight pieces of track, hence why I tried making this ride one turn immediately after another. I do use ctrl + g and it didn't help. However, when I made a new coaster, I went back through a mildly pumpy turn and simply spit the track up and hit ctrl + g again, and it's amazing how much smoother it is now. I guess the "it's sometimes better to use less vertices" tip that No Limits gives you is very incorrect. Thanks for the constructive criticism!
  9. At WCB Tim said that the pre shows would make it all make sense as to why it is a wooden coaster and not a steel coaster. Ok, I'll be very interested to hear how it's explained. It is a good looking coaster, though.
  10. It probably has to do with the water level. It must have hit the water with quite a lot of force considering the boat stopped not far from the drop.
  11. Awesome video! Seems like you still had fun even with two major rides down. Six Flags Great Adventure is definitely on my "Parks to go to someday" list along with Tokyo Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Europa Park (because Blue Fire looks amazing).
  12. That's one good looking roller coaster. My only problem with the ride is the same problem I had with it when it was just a rumor: WTF IS UP WITH THE TERMINATOR ROLLER COASTER BEING A WOODIE!?! Nothing screams robots more than wood!
  13. Actually, 7 posts in a row, and most of which were nearly identical. The park did look nice, however. Well what is it? What we're saying is you should probably look at the date before posting. This park hasn't been updated in nearly two years, so it can be assumed it will never be updated, so there's no point in moving it to the top of list of topics for no reason, even if the park was nice.
  14. Noooooo, not the Tortilla factory, they are so warm and fresh and yummy and free. I would agree with you if you didn't have to sit through the video like in the good old days, back when you could just keep going in and getting free tortillas over and over again.
  15. Actually, 7 posts in a row, and most of which were nearly identical. The park did look nice, however.
  16. That's weird, I could've sworn I didn't save after I did that. Thanks for Pointing that out. There, it should be fixed.
  17. Yeah, I played Tenor Sax for the Rock Island High School Marching Band, the Pride of Rock Island, for 4 years now. I was section leader for 3 of the 4 years. Let's just say our director killed the love in music in all of us. Most of the seniors have quit concert band this semester because we all hate our teacher (I didn't, but I almost wish I had).
  18. Yeah, and they actually did a kind of sloppy job doing it. When I was there last May, there were drips of orange paint everywhere in the queue line due to fresh paint dripping off the track. I thought it was kind of funny. I forgot to mention that you were smart for skipping Iron Wolf. I think that is the one ride I may never ride again it hurt me so bad.
  19. Nice trip report. Good to hear Raging Bull is running a little wilder. By the way, does anybody know why Great America sometimes runs Batman without any wheel covers? I usually notice one train with the wheel covers on and another with the covers off, but sometimes both are on. Does anybody know why?
  20. I wish I could go on a TPR Trip. They all look really fun. Plus, I need some coaster credits (woodie credits to be specific). If only I had the money...
  21. Ok, got it. Thanks for clearing that up. I thought something was wrong with my App Store.
  22. Yeah, but the topic is called Cedar Point App, so now I'm confused. Is there a site and an app, or just the site?
  23. Wes' and Twister II's responses are perfect ! (It took 3 tries to get this post right. Thank God for post edits) How many fires have there been at DLP? I can think of 4 off the top of my head!
