They had me at WarioWare. The combination of WarioWare, Monkey Ball (and hopefully Smash Bros.) is a no brainer for me and I guarantee I will get a Wii as soon as I can. I could care less about the PS3.

Me too. I had to call my brother during my lunch break so he could give me all the details.

Florida, Nintendo announced today that they were releasing to versions of LoZTP. 1 version with all the Wii capabilities and the other version without the capabilities for the Gamecube. Both will be available at Wii's launch date.

Family Guy Cheats us out of a season finale

They have said all along that the Movie would air as normal episodes. -
I'm guessing that $250 will be the number for Wii. I'm also now reading something about a speaker built into the remote. I guess we'll know more in a little over 12 hours.
-
Thats alot of money. The good thing is that with a date and prices from Sony, I'm sure we'll see the same announcements from Nintendo tomorrow. Sony saw a good idea from Nintendo and diefinitely borrowed a bit from it. I do think Nintendo will have the better controller but we shall see. Nothing I have read so far as convinced me that I want a PS3.

Shoot! My inner-calender was been screwy recently for some reason. Why the heck did I think it was already next week? For some reason I thought tomorrow was the 16th (I've given up on trying to get games on their release dates which are the days they're shipped). I guess I just want May/June to mvoe faster than they have been. Sorry for my excessive stupidity. So, is the PS3 controller really a silver Dual Shock 2? wow.......

According to the article/review, that 4-5 hours sounds like its jsut going from point A to point B without getting all of the secrets. I could be wrong though. Between 3 and World, I have to give the edge to SMB3, but World is pretty close to it.

As I said in the E3 thread, I'll be picking it up tomorrow (but my internal clock is all wonky and meant next week). i think it looks great, and I love the 2d Mario side-scrollers.
-
I'm definitely picking up New Super Mario Bros. tomorrow. Looks fantastic! Sony's conference should be starting soon, I think it was delayed. SquareEnix announced 2 Wii titles, glad to see they're supporting the system.

Less than a week away from the press conference an E3! The announcements should be interesting, hopefully they'll answer most of our questions. -

Its no secret that the Xbox360 and PS3 have much more impressive specs when it comes to graphics compared to the Wii. Which honestly doesn't bug me at all. I'd rather play a fun, innovative game with graphics a bit better than current-gen systems then play a game where the focus is on next-gen graphics. -

The name is still trying to sink in with me. Still not sure what exactly to make of it. While most of what I have heard from people has been negative, at least people are talking about it. And at least its more creative than PS3 or XBox360. Smart move announcing it now instead of at E3 where it would have overshadowed everything else. Can't wait until the rest is unveiled in less than 2 weeks! -

Nice pics Erik. Looks fun. As far as I know, the $300 Premier AP has quietly been on sale since April. The oddest perk for this pass supposedly is 8 free bottles of water. You also get free preferred/valet parking. May not be worth the extra cash, but its interesting nonetheless. -
About how far of a drive is it between Lake Winnie and SFoG? (I think I'm gonig a bit overboard in the amount of parks I'm trying to hit this season, but oh well)

Kings Dominion photo book from 1981!
Slacking replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hurler opened in 1994 1993 was the last season for Smurf Mountain and the Animal Monorail 1994 was the last season for Apple Turnover 1995 was the last season for Haunted River and Time Shaft JEFF Thanks for the timeline! Yeah, I do think it was 1994 that I visited. I remember visiting BGW for the first time that same trip and Escape from Pompeii was under construction (This was August of '94, and I looked it up and Pompeii opened in '95). And I remember the brochures were really pushing Hurler. Wow, a lot of things I have missed since then (12 years!), I'll have to hit it up this coming August. -

Wow, awesome pictures, thanks for posting them. I totally forgot about the Time Shaft! I loved the Haunted River though. When I visited PKD my one and only time (I think it was the year Hurler opened, 95, maybe?) I rode and enjoyed both of those rides. The Smurf ride was already closed by then though. Wow, its been over 10 years since I visited PKD, I should try and hit it again this summer. -
Universal Studios solo??
Slacking replied to galaga-girl's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
IMO, there is nothing to fear. I usually feel more comfortable as a solo traveler at the Universal parks than I do at the Disney parks. -
Universal Studios solo??
Slacking replied to galaga-girl's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Its pretty much like doing any other park solo. Honestly, I prefer doing Universal solo than the Disney parks solo (Thats because in the boat rides such as IASM, PotC, and Maelstrom, they always put you in a row all by your self even if there is room elsewhere) What concerns exactly do you have about doing Uni/IOA as a solo visitor? Plus, a few of the rides have Single Rider lines. -
Wow! Looks like a fun little park I would enjoy. How far from SFoG (something I need to hit this season) is it?
-
Awesome pics Derek! I absolutely love Hersheypark, but probably won't get to it this comnig summer. Quick question though- with the revamped chocolate tour is the old Hershey Chocolate brain washing song (The Great American Chocolate Bar!) officially gone?

Is anybodys home park their favorite?
Slacking replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm a big fan of BGT, but I wouldn't call it my favorite park. That honor goes to Hershey Park. -
I loved the cartoon. My favorite part was when the kids where like "You're suppsoed to be funny?" to Mickey Mouse. The Song of the South segment made me chuckle too. Great cartoon.
