  1. Terror Mines is the best? If all it takes for a great wanted house are hanging ropes and burlap walls with no lightning, I could easily make a great house myself!
  2. Just a note about makeup, since you did make a comment about it. I'm under the impression that at HHN, each scareactor has their makeup applied for them by someone else. Not sure if this is true, but thats what I've been told. At HOS, unless you are a sub, you have to apply your own makeup. Glad to hear you enjoyed HOS. I honestly think that HHN fans do need to check it out if they have never done so. At HHN, I had a hard time having fun. With the crowds and waits, it was rather stressful, and most of the houses weren't that great. I did enjoy Body Collectors, Demon Cantina, and yes, the Skool the most. It is a short house, but I enjoy the set and have had quite a few scares in that house.
  3. freestylenut- I posted a link to a couple reviews (including my own) over in the Phobia thread. One of the reviews (not mine, lol) even has some photos of the event. I also saw that you stated you were skipping HOS this year, correct? I know that there are only 2 brand new houses (there were 2 in '04, and only 1 in '03) but the 2 new additions are suppsoed to be to of the rgeatest houses HOS has ever seen. Also, the remaining houses have each received there share of changes. Deathly Departed for the most part is the same as Til Death....., but some new rooms have been added, scares has been changed, the ending is new, and there seems to be more scareactors in the house than last year. With your pass, a ticket should be $25-30, right? If your bored anytime this month, I do recommend a trip over at HOS, and avoid Phobia at all costs! (I do work at HOS, but I am not trying to be biased, I just want to keep people away from crappy haunt events.) Zoo Boo does sound fun though, but I doubt it'll be going on any nights I don't work at HoS.
  4. A review of the houses? Its kind of hard to review empty hallways with an ineffective scareactor scattered about every so often, but I guess they could try. I can't get over how much I disliked Phobia. I am a very jumpy person, I jump and scream at almost anything. I work at HOS, and even jumped/screamed/ran while walking through my own house, and I knew where the scares were! But, nothing at Phobia made me jump. Its like they didn't even try. I know budget is an issue, but the event they present to the public is inexcusable. HHN and HOS are both an hour or less in either direction from Cypress Gardens, save your time and attend a decent event. Not sure about what the rules about links are, but here is a link to a review of Phobia from HHNVault, and then my own review on the same site. There are photos with the first review. http://www.hhnvault.com/your_terror/articles/100305cyprophobia.html http://www.hhnvault.com/your_terror/articles/100305cyprophobiareview2.html
  5. The horrible "Swamp Thing" at Cypress Gardens.
  6. I am ok with the whole not leaving USA/North America thing. After 7 Seasons of going around the world, and visiting some spots more than once, there are plenty of great places in our own backyard that are worth visiting. I also absolutely loved that roadblock. While it may not have been very physical, it sure was fun to watch. ("The Sky is Blue" ...... "I don't know what you are talking about." So, while the format sure is a bit different, it still feels like The Amazing Race to me, and I'm enjoying it immensely. Which is hilarious because before the season began, I had a lot of trepidation, and I thought it would be horrible, but I'm having tons of fun watching it. Oh, and the Paolos? They are hilarious, especially Mama Paolo. I'm sure they are gone in a week or two, but they're entertaining.
  7. You won't get to see whats in the fun looking house by the WW show..... they only allow kids 7 and under (and parents) in the house. BTW, I am not a CG hater. I went for the first time back in May and enjoyed it quite a bit.
  8. Barry, you know my opinion already, but avoid it like the plague. It is awful, and not worth the time.
  9. So HOS sucked despite not experiencing any houses yet? If anyone goes to HOS, make sure you visit Deathly Departed this year (hey, gotta give a little self-promotion!)
