  1. I liked it a lot, but again my expectations were probably lowered after seeing those crappy videos first...and knowing too much about the ride before my actual ride. Honestly I'm glad I saw those videos before I rode. I would have gone in with overly inflated expectations if the video didn't lower my expectations. Even then, I still was a bit disappointed, I feel that it could have been better than it was.
  2. So Erik, I could take a guess based on your captions, but whats your overall opinion of the ride?
  3. I saw the picture of that kid, and he frightens me.
  4. oooh, thats snazzy! I like it, it looks cool. Won't plop down more money for it, but I'm impressed.
  5. I watched Flightplan last night. Unless you enjoy hearing Jodie Foster yell "WHERE IS MY DAUGHTER?!?!?!" for 90 minutes straight, avoid this movie.
  6. IIRC they already had video screens, but now they'll be hi-res flat screens. I think the ride is great. The cars already had video screens? Either my memory is failing or they've been added since the Summer of 2003 (either are highly possible)
  7. Great pics! Looks like a very interesting space! I am quite baffled by the boat/train thing through the giant orange mouth. Is there more once you go through the mouth? Whats in there? I feel a strange urge to ride that ride.
  8. I think I read elsewhere (screamscape?) that they may be replacing the ride vehicles with new ones that'll have video screens and stuff. I personally have always loved this ride, despite the brainwashing song at the end of the ride. Maybe they'll replace that brainwashing song with a new brainwashing song sung by 3 cows! (3 cows!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
  9. I'd watch that over House or Bones anyday.
  10. Since I helped derail the topic, I'll try to get it back on topic. So umm..., How bout that Bird? (Speaking of the bird, does it have some sort of technical purpose? Its really a cheap looking effect, but i love it) When will everyone here get a chance to ride this thing for real(since seeing the video and riding the ride are obviously completely different experiences)? I'm really curious to hear reactions about it.
  11. But these 2 networks did give us the greatness that is Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
  12. Those Community Board people are ummm..... something else. I'm trying to nice, lol.
  13. Not impressed with the MTV Soundwave retheming that I read about when I took that survey awhile back. It'll be a shame if this coaster is removed. I haven't tackled PKD's ride, just PKI's version and that was back in the opening year when it still had its OTS restraints (and people are calling EE rough?) and there was a 2-3 hour wait just to ride it!
  14. That part of the article is the part that intrigues me the most.
  15. I think the point was already been made, and I accept that. No reason for every other person to repeat it. (Sorry for being somewhat prickish, I'm just in a crabby mood today) People are welcome to their own opinions, but just be careful about hyping yourself up too much before riding a much anticipated ride....... Ummmm.... lemme change the topic. So whens the first day for AP previews, is it Thursday or Friday?
  16. True, you're right about that, but I personally don't like when people make rash judgments on something they haven't fully experienced yet. Sorry, I'll shut up now, its been a long day.
  17. Please don't call the ride awEsome until you have ridden it for yourself.
  18. I can only speak for myself but lack of intensity and thrills is just one minor reason I was underwhelmed by Everest. Some of my favorite rides ever aren't quite ones people would call intense or thrilling to begin with. I'm talking about rides like the Haunted Mansion at Knoebels, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Matterhorn, and Men in Black (and as much of a coaster lover I am, give me a dark ride over a coaster anyday). To me its not about the thrills and intensity, but how much fun I have. IMO, the people who designed EE were more concerned about the story rather than making the ride fun. I would have loved to experience more of that coaster section after the main lift hill but before it can get fun they completely bring the ride to a halt. And helix after helix (some variety would have been nice) makes for a boring coaster that really isn't a lot of fun for me. So not all of us are after the tallest and fastest record breaking coaster when it comes to EE, but a boost in the "fun factor" would have been appreciated. Also, EE is nowhere near the roughest coaster I have been on.
  19. I think if someone is expecting a Millenium Force or S:ROS type drop, they will be disappointed. If, however, they are looking for a thrilling, fun, and unique attraction, this is it. I have been on it 10 times, and I still think it's great! Just don't go expecting it to be the end-all-be-all of coasters! Just my two cents....now back on the ride! Thrilling, fun, unique attraction? 1- Thrilling- I don't think so. Most thrilling thing are the forces felt when travelling backwards and that whole sequence. 2- Fun- A bit. But I think they were more hardpressed to tell a story (which in the end isn't all that clear to begin with) than to offer a fun experience. Most fun part for me is actually the sequence in between the mini-lift hill and the main life hill. 3- Unique? Not sure. Like JT said, it feels like BTMR and wants to be like Matterhorn. Not even the backwards portion is new since RotM on both coasts has been doing this for almost 2 years now. To me, RotM (not comparing, just making a statement) is a more unique attraction than EE. I'm almost feeling like expressing my opinions in the last week since riding EE is making me dislike the ride a bit more than I actually did. It wasn't a bad ride, I just don't think its thrilling, unique, and isn't too heavy on fun (at least for me.)
  20. Growing up in Seattle in the 80's and early 90's, we would always make fun of the Seahawks because most years they were downright pathetic. I'm no longer in Seattle, but I think its awesome that the 'Hawks are in the Superbowl for their first time ever. I'm actually quite shocked about it. Go Seattle!
  21. Hey, for those who have ridden EE, do you consider yourself a coaster enthusiast (or freak) or not? I just want to see if my prediction (general public will love it, coaster fans will be underwhelmed) is coming to light this early in the ride's life.
  22. I would go if my pass wasn't expired! And yes, I would go and ride EE again despite being underwhelmed by it. First person whose opinion matches mine (seems like everyone outright loves it) wins a prize!
  23. Nice pictures Erik! About DinoWorld, I had free passes a year ago, so I went. Ummm.... its an interesting place. I can't beleive they charge about $10 for it. You walk around and look at phoney plaster dinos.
  24. Yeah, I had the HL pass too. Better than the normal ticket passes the give you these days. Glad to see Pirates replacing Not-so-Haunted Lighthouse. HL was weak. I saw Pirates once, and enjoyed but don't remember too much of it since i was in an incredibly bad mood that day, but Leslie Nielsen is the man.
