Robb Alvey's Facebook Account
Brandy524 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I sincerely appreciate being able to live vicariously through your trips to parks I'll probably never visit in my life. And the slightly warped sense of humor everyone has is just the icing on the cake. Like someone else said, why do they get so worked up over someone being mean on the internet? Boo hoo. Suck it up guys. If they don't like what you post, Robb, then they don't belong here, and you're absolutely in the right for banning people who cause trouble. No one wants to be around negative people. We're all here to have a good time! -

Robb's cupcake was a-mazing! The others were pretty good, too. Seriously, everything on that ship looks incredible. Great pictures! -
Happy Birthday, TPR! If I could bake a roller coaster cake and mail it without it getting squished, I would!

I voted! Always glad to help someone out!

I have yet to try the Terrapin that was recommended to me because I can't find it in a store, and I have had absolutely zero time to go to a bar. I did, however, try this. It's a local company that's currently constructing a micro-brewery right here in little ole Gadsden, Alabama. Here's the company's site: http://www.backfortybeer.com/ I thought, yay, I'll support local business and try it. Plus it won an award so surely it couldn't be that bad. They only have two beers out right now. This one is Truck Stop Honey Ale, and they also have a pale ale called Naked Pig. Blech, blech, blech. Not a beer for me! My husband said it was the best one he's had so far (which isn't really saying much because he hasn't tried that many, lol). I'm still holding out hope for liking the Terrapin once I find it!

Looks like a really awesome trip! I am so incredibly scared of heights that those observation deck pictures made me dizzy just looking at them. Atlantis looks incredible! Great job, guys! Thanks for sharing. -
Just noticed my title has been changed again. Love it! Thank you oh gracious Title Fairy!

^ I was just about to say that there were only two people in shorts! Not a good photo to argue his point of view. -

Great reports! I've never seen Stitch, but I did do Alien Encounter back in high school. I'm a big chicken and it terrified me! I don't know how I ever let my friends talk me into going on it. I thought it was fantastic, but definitely too intense for younger guests. -
Love seeing parks in the snow! Such a sharp contrast from peak season!

Once Upon a Mattress was my first show EVER! I will always have a fondness for it. Made a lot of good friends that I never would have met had it not been for that show.

Captured: America in Color from 1939-1943

^ Exactly! It makes it feel so much more real. It's not just another black and white picture of a time you can't relate to. Color really puts you in the moment. -

Oh wonderful Title Fairy, I would like a custom title of your choosing. I leave up to your creative genius! Thanks in advance!

I thought they were, too. You don't really think about how life was like back then until you see something like this. Talk about a "slice of life." I think we really take a lot things for granted these days! -
Stumbled across this link in another blog this morning. If you're friends with me on facebook, you may have already checked out the link I posted there. These pictures are so moving. They just make you long to know these people, learn their names and their stories. These are just a few pictures from the collection. There are 70 at the link. EDIT: Doh, forgot to post the actual link. http://blogs.denverpost.com/captured/2010/07/26/captured-america-in-color-from-1939-1943/2363/ "Captured: America in Color from 1939-1943 Posted Jul 26, 2010 These images, by photographers of the Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information, are some of the only color photographs taken of the effects of the Depression on America’s rural and small town populations. The photographs and captions are the property of the Library of Congress and were included in a 2006 exhibit Bound for Glory: America in Color."
