  1. Wow. That video is really terrifying. What in the world was that operator thinking to make that train go that fast? And now a child is dead and many people are injured because of his carelessness.
  2. So funny! Looking forward to the rest!
  3. I keep seeing all these pictures from WCB and it makes me so jealous! Looks like such a great time!
  4. This is fantastic news! I see a TPR Nigeria trip in the works. I second the request to stay at your castle. Congratulations on your successful efforts!
  5. Looks like everyone had an amazing time! Really makes me look forward to Deep South Bash!
  6. I made Episode 1! How crazy awesome is that?! I'm honored to be your inaugural interview! Great job, Big Mike! Going to watch the rest of the episode now...
  7. It's good! It really needs more juice than I put in, and don't leave it in the oven as long. It's sort of a mixed fruit cobbler of sorts.
  8. Looks good! I'll have to make some again and add a little more juice and not leave it in the oven as long. I'm going to do a cake pop TR sometime soon, just have to find the time to actually make some!
  9. That looks like one seriously awesome ride! A little intimidating, but fun all the same. It's scary to watch people leaning so far out to try to grab their partner and knowing there's just one chain for a restraint! Would love to ride it one day!!
  10. They don't actually cook it in the movie; they're just talking about recipes, so I'm not really sure. Every time my mother made it, it was always kind of like a fruit cobbler of sorts.
  11. "That's easy, you don't have to right that one down. It's a cup of flour, a cup of sugar, a cup of fruit cocktail with the juice, and you mix and bake at three-hundred and fifty 'til gold and bubbly." Way back when Steel Magnolias was a new movie, my mom decided to try this recipe and see if it actually worked. It did. I was at Aldi last week and passed by the cans of fruit cocktail and decided to make this myself. Enjoy! I didn't add the ingredients in order of the recipe. Sue me. I would actually probably add a little extra fruit juice to this. Dollar General sugar! Action shot! Fruit and a pile of sugar. Yum. Dollar General flour! How many things can you say about adding ingredients to a dish? All stirred up and it kind of looks like it's already been eaten once. Did I just ruin the yum factor for you? Preheat to 350. And yes, this picture actually should have been the first one. Into the oven. Gold and bubbly. Actually it wasn't too bubbly. I think it needed more juice, and I think I left it in too long. I left it in for 35 minutes because it wasn't turning golden. Lesson learned.
  12. The husband and I watched Get Low yesterday. It was a really good movie. I knew nothing about it before he rented it, but I enjoyed it. Then I watched Burlesque (he wasn't interested) and loved it! I was a little scared to see Christina Aguilera acting, but I really enjoyed the movie!
  13. I found a full copy of it on DVD on ebay some years back. Just googled it and found this: http://yoursongofthesouth.com/?gclid=CJTh16_7xqcCFSVa7AodgAfrCg. I understand people's concerns with the slavery and racist themes, but come on, can't we move past that now and see it for what it is? Learn from it; teach kids that slavery was wrong and it's over now. There are plenty of other offending movies out there. It was made a long time ago. And it's still a classic, and they have a ride themed to it.
  14. My husband directed The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) last year, and he'll be directing The Complete History of America (Abridged) next year, with our community theatre. They are flippin' hilarious!!
  15. I watched Going the Distance, starring Drew Barrymore and Justin Long, the other night. My husband wasn't interested so I ended up watching it by myself while he was at work. It was a cute story. It had a lot of crude, sexual humor and a lot of language in it. But all in all it was a pretty good romantic comedy. And a far cry from crude humor, I'm also halfway through BBC's miniseries Emma. It is an excellent adaptation of Austen's novel, and I'm looking forward to finishing it.
  16. Our community theatre just added Thoroughly Modern Millie as our summer musical this year. We were supposed to do South Pacific, but there's a professional tour coming to our area around the same time, so we couldn't get the rights. But I'm way more excited about Millie than I ever was about South Pacific!
  17. Awesome report thus far. Hilarious! Can't wait to see more.
  18. Calorie overload! But they look so good!!
  19. Great TR! It looked like a really awesome event, to have all the different types of foods in one place to try. Wish we had food trucks here!
  20. ABSOLUTELY!! I've been waiting for an event (other than a trip) close enough for us to attend! We would definitely be there! We'd be 2-4 people, depending on whether or not we brought the kids with us. If KidTums will be there, we'd probably bring our girls because I know they'd love to meet her!
  21. We're in the process of buying a house. All the paperwork's been submitted but we're waiting for word from the underwriter on a closing date. Why does it take so long?! It's been almost two weeks since we got everything turned in. Our credit scores are good, debit to income ratio is good, so what's the holdup? Grrr. I'm just anxious to start packing and get moved in!
  22. Thanks!! Congrats on getting Wicked tickets! I haven't seen it, but I've heard that it's amazing.
  23. Just got caught up on the last couple of updates. Wow, I had to hold back my laughter at the Gaga dance class because I'm work! Scary. Everything about the ship is just amazing. Seriously making me want to start saving for a cruise. Thanks for all the inside info on pricing and what's included!
  24. In non-musical theatre news, I've been cast as Lenny (the oldest sister) in Crimes of the Heart, with our community theatre. If any of you will be around northeast Alabama the last weekend of April or first weekend of May, come see me!
  25. That's really not a bad price at all, especially considering the length of the trip and that it's all inclusive. It's way less than I expected! Having never been on a cruise I really didn't know what to expect actually.
