  1. I went into HPCrazy's drawings of Hershey and decided to show my ideas of a future, mainly because it's halftime of the MLS Game I think the Golf Course could be used for Employee Parking and mabye some maitnence buildings, then build a transportation tunnel under the buildings and such, it isn't to far from Lightning Racer. It's just an idea, and also I would like to see ZooAmerica be moved to another part of town or something like that, and offer a shuttle service from the park to there. Hershey just doesn't have the land like some parks do.
  2. Personally, I'm a big fan of the GO-Racer System as provided by that company.
  3. Cool Down in 09? Cool Down = Relax. Relax = Lazy River. I doubt much more then that will be done next year, CRR being changed into a lame lazy river. Im not even sure a wavepool will happen next year. Could Hershey use the area around the highest part of Tidal Forces lift hill in the wavepool? Like have the supports of Tidal Force just be built into the pool and people would just have to get over them being there? They may provide a nice place for people to "hang onto" as well. I doubt it but im just throwing the idea around. The HP Arena is still used regularly these days, and I doubt that will go. I think the next place the park will expand is out into the employee lot behind Wildcat, but that will require a lot of work to get that going. And I believe I heard that the Golf Course had problems that would take a long time to fix before Hershey could use the land as well.
  4. I feel worse for the rider. That had to of hurt but he has to live feeling like "he killed someone" I feel bad for the kid and his family and everything, but No one really thought about the rider too much.
  5. I think most people (including myself) wonder why all of the flats have been removed. Most of Hershey's flats are kiddie low thrill rides now. I can't consider Howler too intense, and Flying Falcon is fun but you get bored after the first run. Chaos and that Western themed thing that went up and down were much more intense and fun flats, and they are gone.
  6. yeah, I would of loved to take pictures but I was with non-enthusiast friends and just guys who loved to ride the rides so I didn't want to hold them up by being like "Hold on guys I have to take this picture" and whatnot. Everything was running beautifully tho, and it was a perfect sunny day. Missed some sick photo opportunities
  7. Uh, doesn't the park have a Whip? Yeah, but I should of cleared up that I'm a fan of the high thrill flat rides more so then rides like the Whip, like I'm fans of Drop Towers, and other stuff mentioned by HPCrazy right above me. Hershey does lack them, and just seems to get rid of them because they don't attract as many riders as a new coaster.
  8. owch. that turn after the drop owch
  9. I agree, Claw is the only fun flat there. I still think the park is capable of keeping the "put in a quarter and soak people" or the waterfalls that CRR currently have. I just do not see Tidal Force going anywhere. I'd LOVE to see Sidewinder go, that would give them plenty of room.
  10. Hershey Park - 45 mins Dutch Wonderland - 15 mins Dorney Park - 1.5 hours SF America - 2 hours SFGADV - 2 hours Knoebels - 2 hours Lancaster PA, nice coaster location
  11. I think Tidal Force is still one of the "key" parts of the water attractions. Everyone still loves the huge splash, and it's a staple ride that's always packed even with a 2 or 3 train operation. I can't see Tidal Force going before the rapids. The rapids broke down on Wednesday for about 30 mins as well. The lift at the end broke and there were boats piled up in front of the lift.
  12. ha yeah, it's the only place Hershey has to add on to the waterpark really, i'm impressed with all they squeezed into such a small area.
  13. Basically you sit in an innertube and float. It's very relaxing. Some parks have some little features to add on to the expierence. There is no thrill to it really, water is just circulated around a course as a small stream would Here's a (bad) video of an example I also have to add that the Boardwalk is probably the funnest part of the park. I finally grew down enough to just venture onto it and go up the towers. There is so much fun to be had on there. Many different water toys that you can dump or spray at other people and start wars, and then the huge bucket dumps on everyone. It may seem childish but I loved it. The water slides are nice as well but i would love to see a huge thrill-oriented water slide added on.
  14. Yesterday we asked two or three staff members and one of them said they heard that Canyon River might be turned into a lazy river with a very similar layout, minus the lift hill and more then likely most of the water effects. It would be very tight to place a Lazy River and Wave pool in that area. There really is not much room between Tidal Force and Sidewinder. Ohh Ohh great idea, get rid of Sidewinder and put the wave pool back there. I'd support that.
  15. Six Flags America. Jokers Jinx. Ride-op Counts down 3-2-1 Blastoff. And we move about a foot. The 2 trains stuck on the breakrun were evacuated, and we just exited like we just got off the ride. The ride didn't open for the rest of the day. We got a "free ride" pass on Superman ROS, and got to bypass a 2 hr line in the afternoon. I also got stuck on SooperDooperLooper. The train didn't go more then 10ft out of the station and only the first 2 or 3 cars got on the lift hill. We were there for only mabye 10 mins, and got a 5$food voucher from staff, which was a nice touch.
  16. It still is a great ride, but just not as silky smooth as it once was.
  17. Yankees- You could feel the rattle all over the ride. I rode 1st row, 2nd row and last seat. It was worse in the front, but it wasn't as bad in the back seat. Superman- I agree with Great Bear, it seemed to be flying today. Much more forceful then i ever remembered. Glad you enjoyed Fahrenheit as much as I did. I enjoyed the Fahrenheit rides in the afternoon as well. The first train ride ran much slower, but then again I wasn't front seat that time. Friss- Yeah the rattle was awful from the part where the ride valleyed on opening day in the Cobra roll all the way up to the corkscrew. It was smooth but just sounded like it was falling apart. I forgot to add this, but did anyone notice the one part going up into the Norwegian Loop (where it swings to the right then flips to the left) sways a lot after the ride goes through it. It's very noticeable from the line, especally when you are really close to the lift hill. If you don't know where i mean, 24 seconds in. I hope that doens't become a future problem as well. Still for the amount of space the ride takes up, Fahrenheit is the best ride that could of ever fit in the tight space.
  18. So here is my very first trip report of TPR! Wish me luck. And in advance, sorry guys no pictures. So we arrived at the park's gates around 9:30 with ticket in hand. We waited until about to get in and then a mini-rush started toward Fahrenheit. Everyone was stopped up around the bumper cars since that part of the park wasn't open yet. Then we made our sprint to Fahrenheit and got lucky enough to be on the first train of the day. The ride blew me away. So much airtime, So many sick elements, Best lift hill ever, One of the best drops. I could fill this page up with compliments on the ride, but i will go further into my day, and add more about the ride at the end So after that sick ride we headed over to Storm Runner. It was a walk on. The ride does have a case of the Intamin rattle, it is not as smooth as it was last year, but it is not too bad like some rides, it is bearable. Next we hopped on Great Bear, great ride as usual. Then SooperDooperLooper, and by now we were on a mission to ride all the coasters. So we next got on Wild Mouse, which was extremely painful this year for some reason. After that was Wildcat, which was slightly rough but not as bad as it once was. Lightning Racer ran nice like always. Roller Soaker was boring, Sidewinder wasn't to painful, Trailblazer, yawn. We finished our rides with Comet since the line was 30-45 mins in the morning . Comet was not trimmed at all and was a fast and intense ride. I was very happy with the park for that. We also got on Fahrenheit later and it was lucky enough to be seated in the front seat. Still breathtaking ride. Also in CoasterNews, Coal Cracker was open and i got to take a ride on it. I'm fairly sure it isn't going anywhere. It doesn't have a new paint job ether, it just looks like the boats have new wheels on the side and the drops were painted. Fahrenheit is the best ride in the park. Hands down. The lift is insane. Going vertical it just feels like you are going to flip backwards or slide out of you're seat. The extra 7 degrees on the drop adds so much air, it makes a huge difference. The norwegian loop had a ton of airtime, And some nice G's going up the second half of it. The cobra roll was insane, there is so much airtime in the Cobra, you are rarely in you're seat. There was an intamin rattle on the second half of the Cobra, which i feel could be a problem some day. The two corkscrews were nice, but nothing special. The airtime hill toward the end is one of the best small hills i have ever experienced. This ride is insane, and you all have to get out there to ride it.
  19. been pulling for Spain in the Euro as well, Me and a few buddies went to an Italian sports bar / pizza shop, and lets say the Italian Staff/Cooks weren't to happy with us Sunday
  20. Here in the South-East Pennsylvania (HersheyPark area!) it runs about 3.92-3.97$ a gallon. And, flex full runs about 3.29$ a gallon here. I'm so thankful i have a nice 33mpg 97 Ford Escort
  21. Roar at SFA isn't to pleasant, Good ol' six flags matnence isn't helping ether. Sitting in the front is a bad idea. But just watching Manhattan Express videos hurt, so I'd have to say that's the worst. Plus it costs a lot to ride.
  22. any chance you know how long that took you to finish? Im sitll impressed like crazy.
  23. How about those Fahrenheit pictures that spelled out Intamin Lives On. Intamin Drop Tower? Along with some add-ons to the Boardwalk. That would be sweet but guessing with the sign, i expect poor CAR to be demolished. I rarely go to Hershey and ride the water rides, but i may want to get on there one more time.
  24. Europe has some very different coasters i see. Hope you're enjoying it!
  25. Weird. http://www.techeblog.com/index.php/tech-gadget/strange-pedal-powered-japanese-roller-coaster Would that count as a credit guys? Ha And most of the other stuff I could think of has already been mentioned.
