SFMW PTR NOW WITH VIDEO!!
ParkTrips replied to Jeezus Juice's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Does Marine World run ghost trains too? They do down here in Georgia and I've never seen a park anywhere else do it, and I can't help but think its the most annoying thing about SFOG. -
things you like that other peeps find weird
ParkTrips replied to zongaboy626's topic in Random, Random, Random
Kung Pow!!! Awesome freakin' movie!! I love the Life Aquatic, but my girlfriend thinks its retarded and quite possibly the worst move ever (that is until I made her watch Kung Pow). My buddies liked it so I guess its not all bad I also philly cheesesteak subs with deep fried chicken fingers and hot sauce. My family thinks its a really weird but its one of my favorite things to make! I too like red bull (I drink it for the taste and not the "boost") and I somewhat prefer doing road trips alone too. I usually do meet up with someone at a park but with friends that aren't die-hard roadtrippers and a girlfriend who gets pooped out after two days, doing a 4 park trip was tough on the emotions. From now on it will probably just be destination type parks for a couple of days or roadtripping alone (which I will probably do next year when I tour the Kentucky-Indiana-Lake Michigan area) -

eh, maybe we could keep the discussion in this thread that was just created a few days ago. -
They come on the 5-series cars too, like I said a few posts back my grand mother's car has it (she drives a 525) and it comes with the hybrid gear shit system, and for about half that price I don't see what people are giving Saturn a hard time about their reliability, that's one of the reasons I went with Saturn and I'm approaching 100k and haven't had any problems whatsoever.

Tusenfryd Discussion Thread
ParkTrips replied to Shadowforce's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yea but some of us are taking a Scandanavian side trip after the UK parks I agree, this thing could end up being awesome! That loop thingy could be really fun, perhaps this will be the accelerator to dethrone Storm Runner? -
My second car was a Saturn and I have had no problems with it whatsoever... same with the customer service at the dealership, pretty good to me. (note that I'm fairly inexperienced in this aspect but still...)

Would you rather go to a smaller park?
ParkTrips replied to coasterdude5's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree with Kip, and right now I am in that transition from "Magic Mountain is the park I want to go to most/ OMG Look at X!!!!" (me circa 2003) to that more matured, wood-loving, small-park searching enthusiast. About the wood and steel thing too, I found that interesting as well. Looking at my top 10 wood and top 10 steel, the "smallest" park with a coaster that has a slot on my top 10 steel is Busch Gardens Williamsburg, whereas 8/10 of my wood coasters would be in parks considered "small". I guess that just goes back to the idea that woodies are cheaper and a better investment for small parks and dammit, CCI built some awesome woodies for little parks across the country! Very good post kip! Bored at a park? The only park I have ever had the desire to leave early was PKD, and thats just because I thought the park sucked big time. Even little parks like Martin's Fantasy Island (which only had one coaster open and maybe 10 flats, most of which were sub-par) have kept me busy for a considerable amount of time! -
Discounts for Busch Gardens Tampa
ParkTrips replied to USRoadTripper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
After looking ad naseum in the past two weeks for one, simply put: there isn't much you can do. AAA sells tickets for something like $45, that's your best bet. If you aren't a member PM me and I'll try to buy two for you. (unless of course you find something better) -
Yea and since I think I may have been the first to mention it in one of Robb's latest threads, I'm sorry if I made you feel excluded. Listen to Louise By the way I dont think anybody hates anybody around here, it's probably the most easygoing, easy-to-get-along with group of people I've ever seen in an online community so as long as you can take some jokes you'll love this place! 8)

Show us some of your favourite picture you have taken
ParkTrips replied to Cllins's topic in Random, Random, Random
Here are a few really good photos I have taken over time: I don't really like the ride, but this photo (to me) is just really damn good: Though not perfectly in focus, the skies are just awesome in this one. What a way to say goodbye to the Great Gasp: And for some reason, I had an awesome night when in Myrtle Beach this past August. Here are three of my favorite photos ever: That place just lights up so well at night.. Here's one more nighttime photo from the Lake. oh.. and while looking up that photo I couldn't resist posting this one: And the next time around she flashed us and I have been scarred for life  The rest of my photos are here: http://jophish17.smugmug.com/ -
hmm, tough call.I've got it narrowed down to four: Thunderhead is really neat because it looks like you are going to go strait into the trees but you pull out at the last minute with a pretty step and really twisty drop. Rampage and Silver Comet both have awesome ejections in the back seat, all while Boulder dash has a sweet location amongst the trees and the flat run at the top builds anticipation until you scream down the drop! Oh its so tough I'll call it a tie

... as Ted says this he has a photo of Robb in his avatar...

I'm just wondering what other cool extensions any of y'all have installed and whether or not you recomend them. Me personally, I have a few I have downloaded over time. My favorite is AdBlock for the simple reason that I hate popups and stupid flash ads. Going along with that I have the NoScript extension installed which kills JavaScript, the main nemesis behind popups. SessionSaver is nice sometimes but most of the time I don't really care where I last was, so it's not high on my "you need to get it" list. I'll probably end up disabling this one. Fasterfox is designed to.. well duh! It seems to work ok most of the time though it doesn't really speed up load times on a t-1 all that much. May be good for anyone who still dials in. Finally, I have fireFTP, an in-browser FTP client that works pretty well. I'd say webmasters out there should take a look into it. I do think I managed to crash it once though So, yea, enough of my uber-dork ness. What else do y'all run the Fox with and is it worth the time of your fellow TPR members to check it out?

I need an adult!! I need an adult!!!! Wow, I thought I was doing good with almost 700 rides on Mind Bender... then I heard about the guy for Boulder Dash and now this?! - Joe, who may ride coasters a lot, but at least knows what a sex life is like

Nice mix! Mindbender loops... (love) Elissa, I don't think I'm a virgin anymore! -
^LMAO! Current car: auto, I didn't have much of a choice since I didn't buy it! I prefer: eh, doesn't matter. Depends on the vehicle (aka I'm going to try to get a Sky when it comes out and there's no way in hell I'm going auto!) Where's the "ManuMatic" option? It has the best of both worlds! Ease of use of an automatic along with the perception of control! - Joe, who loves that feature on g-ma's BMW

Here are some scanned photos that I got from digging out some old photo albums. These photos are circa August 1993, the year of the Great Flood. I had just turned 7 and this was the second year of operation for the park, so let's do it! - Joe, who also found some evidence of an early Pigeon Forge trip, but no DW photos =( ah, that's better. I'm smiling in that photo, so I guess I enjoyed it. Not a very good scan, but here's my mom scared sh*tless and I'm all "yea, whatever" Don't know whats better: my wide open mouth or my uncle's kickass haircut!! Mmmm... bumper cars (now forever ruined for me by the Lusse Brothers) Not sure exactly what kind of ride that is but look at the hardcore determination on my part Panning for gold, something I did more than once on this trip! (we also visited the Black Hills) Alright mom, since you can't do it let me handle that! *Mom feels bad getting shown up by a 7 year old* Getting ready for the Ballon ride. My mom's buckling me in because I probably wouldn't have done so!
